I was listening to a character banter video and it occured to me. Vivienne is from Wycome. And she speaks highly of the place. Though she prolly left as a child, I wonder if she has established connections there and those can be used to Clan Lavellan's advantage if you are friends with her. I wouldn't say that she thinks that highly of Wycome. From the way she said it she sounded like she was embarrassed to be born in the Free Marches. It honestly made me laugh to see how flustered she got over it, I don't recall any other times that she gets that embarrassed in the whole rest of the game. For the same reason I don't think that she would have many connections with Wycome. Its certainly possible for her to help in some way, but I think that she's tried to distance herself from Wycome in favour of Orlais.

I know that the proliferation of wolf statues is sometimes assigned to reuse of art assets, as you showed by the weekes quote. But surely the giant one in the foyer of Dirthamen's Temple means something. Also the wolf's statue in the waterfall at Watcher's Reach, specifically mentioned in a codex about how it must be magically maintained cus it hasn't eroded. And the watcher above Watcher's Reach seems deliberately put there (again, codex entry referencing it) and seems a lot like a Dirthamen statue (though I admit I thought maybe it was meant to be a Solas statue at one point in my playthrough). There is a connection btwn Dirthamen and Fen'Harel that we have not had elaborated. Not sure *what*, but it's something. Don't really see it that way - it's not uncommon for conquered lands or places to be marked with statues/flags/whatever of the conqueror. It could be the same with Evanuris temples and Fen'Harel statues. Basically every spot taken by rebels could have be adorned by Fen'Harel's statues, either as sign that the place has been conquered or it's under protection of Fen'Harel (we see in Trespasser that many of these statues are magical). You know... kinda like every spot where Inquisitor is marked by flags and signs that say "under protection of Inquisition". Heck, it could even have been how the tradition to put Fen'Harel statues around Dalish camp has started... But we have no evidence Solas' rebels ever set foot in Dirthamen's temple. In fact, the opposite. It seems it was filled with Dirthamen's faithful to the bitter end if we go by the codex entries. And in Watcher's Reach, your idea explains the statue in teh waterfall, potentially, but why leave the statue of Dirthamen overlooking the chasm? I was listening to a character banter video and it occured to me. Vivienne is from Wycome. And she speaks highly of the place. Though she prolly left as a child, I wonder if she has established connections there and those can be used to Clan Lavellan's advantage if you are friends with her. For the same reason I don't think that she would have many connections with Wycome. Its certainly possible for her to help in some way, but I think that she's tried to distance herself from Wycome in favour of Orlais. I dunno. In the banter she's like "Wycome is very respectable" (or w/e she says) and Varric agrees and says Cumberland is bad and she agrees and adds Tantervale. Seemed like she really was comparing Wycome to the other city states, not just saying it was nice to overcompensate.

I love the Solas Honey Wine picture. It goes really well with my story about what the Lavellan clan is getting up to in Wycome. I decided that the Keeper has taken a particular interest in producing mead to help with the revelry, to an old Dalish recipe. Then she also sells hangover cures, also to an old Dalish recipe. It is going remarkably well. It is fortunate that they decided to place them in the revelry capital of Thedas. I was listening to a character banter video and it occured to me. Vivienne is from Wycome. And she speaks highly of the place. Though she prolly left as a child, I wonder if she has established connections there and those can be used to Clan Lavellan's advantage if you are friends with her. Much as I like Vivienne, she strikes me as someone who will help if it serves a political benefit. I'm pretty sure, depending on the favor and how well respected Vivienne and the Inquisitor are to each other, she could definitely pull some strings. I mean, I'd be surprised if she didn't know anyone influential at Wycome.

About whether or not the artwork means anything (from a few pages back): I think it's better to take the 'reused art asset' view. One of the devs (possibly Weekes?) said that the huge number of wolf statues didn't mean anything - they were just filling space. Yeah, I try to be careful. New assets are very expensive. I remember the first time I went to the Emerald Graves I thought it was full of Fen'harel statues.

Since it seems to be theory time, I thought I would throw one in. I mentioned this in the old thread and is one of many I have kicking around the ol' dome and I'm more inclined to lean towards as time goes on. Highly doubtful no one else has thought of or not tossed it out before me, but we've got forever until DA4 so why not? Canon has been established Titan's appear to be the natural counterbalance of the Fade. Enforce reality in a sense. Lyrium is alive, is Titan's blood, and 'sings'. Now theory time: Blood magic interferes with a mage's ability to connect to the Fade (sounds like an enforcement of reality) and this would be a reasonable deduction considering what is more tangible and real then a part of your body? So, lets say there was indeed a partial truth in the myth of Andruil finding power within the Void and it was the Blight/would become the Blight (personally I'm inclined to believe the Evanuris did not create it but they did spread it and allowed it to get a foothold in the world. Way to go guys... ). If the power that was in the Void was for instance a form of blood magic and being exposed to it warped Andruil's (Fade magic), you would have something that was corrupt and utterly twisted against its nature. Or going to the Void may have twisted Andruil's blood magic (she is called the Goddess of Sacrifice so perhaps she might have double-dipped in a sense by using blood magic sometimes). Either way, the power known as the 'Blight' is now born. It would explain why Titans can both repel it for a time (Reality enforcers, blood magic) and absolutely hate it (the taint is a twisted form of blood magic). 'But wait' you may ask, 'how does killing Titans factor in?'. Well given that we know that playing with the Blight doesn't exactly leave you all there after a time and chasing rainbows, what kept Andruil and possibly anyone she came into contact with from becoming something like a Darkspawn? Here is where I think Titans come in. Not only for their blood to get a major power boost, but for lessening the effects of the Blight. There is a Codex entry, The keepers of Fear ( Codex) that mentions 'feed the stone your screams'. Sound like anything? They would have to get the idea somewhere right? So you have Titans being killed for not only their blood but the Evanuris need a way to maintain their sanity. Drastic shift in the natural balance of the world to one side with the death of Titans but also the introduction of blood magic (reality) into the Fade (imagination). The Golden City being Black and I believe there are Codex entries that say red lyrium/the taint has been spotted within the Fade -but I have trouble finding them at the moment-. Theoretically this would probably start a considerable unraveling of the world, causing the very foundations to begin to tear itself apart. World would literally be 'going tits up' as Sera would say. Explains why Solas would need to put people in time out and has such a fear of the Blight. Or it could all make absolutely no sense but to me . This is why I lurk, I'm a lurker not a theorist!

It could be like the Sha-Brytol. Here's my take on it: From what I got based on the mural we find in Trespasser, Mythal killed a Titan and the elves discovered the blood could make them even more powerful so they kept digging for more. All of a sudden they found something that scared them so bad they started sealing up tunnels and Solas made them forget. At first I thought they unleashed the Blight but now I think they uncovered either the Darkspawn or an Old God sleeping. When Andruil found the Void and it drove her slowly mad, Mythal dealt with her and what is Mythal? A dragon it seems and High Dragons are known to be immune to the taint. I think she used her own blood to stop Andruil from becoming a full ghoul. My guess is Mythal was killed because of her blood so they could hunt for lyrium and use her blood to keep them from becoming ghouls.

As an aside, high dragons aren't immune. They are resistant. They can slow the spread of the Blight within themselves but not stop it entirely.

Still on my first coffee of the day lol but yeah I keep thinking her blood was spilled so they could gain more lyrium. Solas saying they could destroy the world makes me think if they harvested all the lyrium in the Deep Roads they would have power beyond an AD and would attempt to enslave everyone. How the Blight connects to them being sealed I'm still not sure. We know Cole said they are hurting and trapped behind mirrors so I keep thinking if we ever enter the Black City and find them... they won't be pretty looking. I think Fiona lost her taint due to dragon blood too if I recall.

I have a lil announcement lethallans, I'm pleased to report that the original Solas thread (by ElitePinecone) and the first Blanketfort thread have both been successfully archived and saved somewhere. At present they won't be made available online or anything like that as it may be that one or several of the community-wide archival/import/other saving efforts succeed. We just thought it was important to save our old threads just in case (safety net). Set your minds to rest Also join me in making a blood sacrifice to warmly thanking our helper elf Mikado who kindly took it upon herself to investigate the matter and sort it out once she'd found a solution. Thankyou Mikado! Mikadothe hero the Blanketfort deserves

If I remember correctly, it was due to the magic amulet that sped up the spread of the taint within her and when the amulet was removed the effects reversed which somehow caused her to lose the taint entirely? But I'm not sure it's actually detailed in the book what happened. Also don't know if dragons blood was involved. And she was the only Grey Warden whose taint was artificially sped up that survived. I think. I'm sensing a theme here =p .... blood magic, lyrium (Titan's blood), dragon blood ...

Well there is the mural of killing a Titan, but who's to say that was the first or that whoever did the actual murdering didn't have the glory stolen? Also I wonder about Mythal being a dragon. The more time that passes and the more snippets we receive, I'm inclined to believe that either Mythal had a special connection to dragons or simply they were what one strove to become, hence the reverence and taking on the form.

I haven't read the books myself, just from what others said. Yeah I see the theme too lol but I do still wonder why Solas is so scared of the the Wardens killing the dragons. He said it might make things worse. We know 2 remain and if they die I wonder if something will happen? Now that I think about it I wonder if Solas sealed the Old Gods in the Deep Roads and had no idea the taint would make them AD's?
