Well there is the mural of killing a Titan, but who's to say that was the first or that whoever did the actual murdering didn't have the glory stolen? Also I wonder about Mythal being a dragon. The more time that passes and the more snippets we receive, I'm inclined to believe that either Mythal had a special connection to dragons or simply they were what one strove to become, hence the reverence and taking on the form. I reckon all of the Evanuris took dragon-form sometimes!

Her statues depict dragon wings. What is also interesting to note is the crown of the Mythal statue is like Andraste's crown and the one Flemeth wears too. I wonder if Mythal did to Andraste what she did to Flemeth?

I have a theory Mythal was either denying the Evanuris access to ordinary lyrium, because she controlled it and wanted to curb their excesses, or she had discovered red lyrium and realised the awful implications of allowing it to be used, so she tried to stop them and they killed her for that.
I've always thought the red lyrium idol in the Deep Roads reminded me of Flemeth. We know that Mythal had dealings in the Deep Roads and seemed to have killed or subdued at least one Titan, freeing the dwarves from its control. These dwarves may even have been able to do magic "Mythal gives you dreams". Anyway I think they likely worshipped Mythal and that is who the idol is meant to honour.
It is not clear which came first, the Blight or the red lyrium. Of course another possibility is that when the other Evanuris killed Mythal it was this act that created red lyrium, which was contaminated by her blood or possibly even the taint that she had removed from Andruil that was released when she died.

If you look closely at the idol it's a male elf holding the body of a dying woman, much like Solas when he catches Flemeth as she falls in DAI. And another body of someone with a severed arm. I was talking with Lady Insanity and she said we are possibly seeing history repeat itself and Solas might have once been what Cory was in this game.

I have a lil announcement lethallans, I'm pleased to report that the original Solas thread (by ElitePinecone) and the first Blanketfort thread have both been successfully archived and saved somewhere. At present they won't be made available online or anything like that as it may be that one or several of the community-wide archival/import/other saving efforts succeed. We just thought it was important to save our old threads just in case (safety net). Set your minds to rest Also join me in making a blood sacrifice to warmly thanking our helper elf Mikado who kindly took it upon herself to investigate the matter and sort it out once she'd found a solution. Thankyou Mikado! Mikadothe hero the Blanketfort deserves Yes... an elf... *hides her ears* Thank you, Mikado! I would offer you my firstborn ... if I had one. I have a cat. You can't have him. Sorry. It's ok as I prefer dogs Cats are the spawn of satan.

Since it seems to be theory time, I thought I would throw one in. I mentioned this in the old thread and is one of many I have kicking around the ol' dome and I'm more inclined to lean towards as time goes on. Highly doubtful no one else has thought of or not tossed it out before me, but we've got forever until DA4 so why not? Canon has been established Titan's appear to be the natural counterbalance of the Fade. Enforce reality in a sense. Lyrium is alive, is Titan's blood, and 'sings'. Now theory time: Blood magic interferes with a mage's ability to connect to the Fade (sounds like an enforcement of reality) and this would be a reasonable deduction considering what is more tangible and real then a part of your body? So, lets say there was indeed a partial truth in the myth of Andruil finding power within the Void and it was the Blight/would become the Blight (personally I'm inclined to believe the Evanuris did not create it but they did spread it and allowed it to get a foothold in the world. Way to go guys... ). If the power that was in the Void was for instance a form of blood magic and being exposed to it warped Andruil's (Fade magic), you would have something that was corrupt and utterly twisted against its nature. Or going to the Void may have twisted Andruil's blood magic (she is called the Goddess of Sacrifice so perhaps she might have double-dipped in a sense by using blood magic sometimes). Either way, the power known as the 'Blight' is now born. It would explain why Titans can both repel it for a time (Reality enforcers, blood magic) and absolutely hate it (the taint is a twisted form of blood magic). 'But wait' you may ask, 'how does killing Titans factor in?'. Well given that we know that playing with the Blight doesn't exactly leave you all there after a time and chasing rainbows, what kept Andruil and possibly anyone she came into contact with from becoming something like a Darkspawn? Here is where I think Titans come in. Not only for their blood to get a major power boost, but for lessening the effects of the Blight. There is a Codex entry, The keepers of Fear ( Codex) that mentions 'feed the stone your screams'. Sound like anything? They would have to get the idea somewhere right? So you have Titans being killed for not only their blood but the Evanuris need a way to maintain their sanity. Drastic shift in the natural balance of the world to one side with the death of Titans but also the introduction of blood magic (reality) into the Fade (imagination). The Golden City being Black and I believe there are Codex entries that say red lyrium/the taint has been spotted within the Fade -but I have trouble finding them at the moment-. Theoretically this would probably start a considerable unraveling of the world, causing the very foundations to begin to tear itself apart. World would literally be 'going tits up' as Sera would say. Explains why Solas would need to put people in time out and has such a fear of the Blight. Or it could all make absolutely no sense but to me . This is why I lurk, I'm a lurker not a theorist! Lyrium singing...I think that's supposed to be a reference to vibration. I'm willing to bet now that Quizzy says in Tresspasser that the Veil was magically contructed this way. So fade = high frequency, light, heat, and movement, etc. Thedas = low frequency, cold, slow, heavy, etc. This is in line with how Cole says Thedas feels like, and the reason he feels really ungrounded as a spirit. Solas instructs him how to focus on the physical world around him when he panics. The reason blue lyrium works then could be because it raises a mage's energy to access the fade. Red does the opposite, lowering. Keep lowering low enough, the and mage drops down into the Void. A place of very low frequency, and silence, void, emptiness, black, etc. The Titans, red lyrium, and templar abilities are enforcing reality then, because they are grounding things. I bet all my Solas action figures. If I had any.

The blood/lyrium talk always brings me back to my theory on the origins of Vallaslin. And Fenris. (I will explain, shortly). We know that lyrium is the blood of a Titan (thank you Decent), and in Trespasser we see that elves did in fact harvest lyrium during the age of Elvhenan. I started to wonder about Fenris' branding. Tevinter stole (or picked the bones) of the ancient elven magics, and this ritual sort of reeks of this type of thing. Merrill comments on how much like Vallaslin Fenris' markings are, and now in retrospect, it seems quite possible that vallaslin may - during at least some of the time of the Evanuris -have been made with lyrium. Not simply elven blood. Danarius also wouldn't have the mojo to do said ritual the way that the most powerful ancient elves, would have been able to apply it, hence why it isn't done often (or successfully) by him or others in Tevinter that may have attempted it. And it also doesn't have exactly a 'gaes' attached to it, at least not one as potent made by say one of the Evanuris. Even with the "slave mentality" Fenris was prone to, perhaps some aspects of a gaes was imbued (i.e. losing memories, and killing the Fog warriors at Danarius' command. Though the losing of the memories may have been the cheap DIY side effect of "control" over said subject, and not the original intention. But not knowing where you come from, who you really are, can be used against a persons free will.). Lastly, there have been some speculation on the mural depicted in Fen'harel's sanctuary in Trespasser, that his removal of said vallaslin added power to his orb (an orb, if I remember correctly, was depicted in the mural). The lyrium and the magic attached to it, may have been one (of possibly many) power sources, that started to fuel the orb. The rest came while Solas slept, going by what he says to the Inquisitor. Just thoughts. Some. For now.
