The Blanketfort (crying and throwing up) - The Official Solas Thread [Spoilers]

I've been there a couple times visiting a friend.  He had two desktops so we ended up playing games.  No that wasn't ALL I did when I was there.  But it was fun.  =p

I love how we already have more posts than the rest of this section combinded.

Currently romancing Blackwall and I just have to say this feels a lot like Solas' romance...

can't say I'm surprised xD I think it's the largest thread on the forum at the moment.

And guess what... I love Solas too

His romance is SO sweet, the only reason I haven't done it is the beard. I can't. I listen to him talk. Then I look at his hairy face. And I just can't. 

I'm on PS4, so I can't mod the game

But I've seen the mod and he looks nice!

(Also I think Loghain is hot)

I love the theme of having made mistakes and having to live with them and make amends. It's part of both these characters.

And yeah, Solas accuses him of running and hiding, but I don't think Solas is being a hypocrite. He was harsh with Blackwall, but I think he is just as harsh with himself, we just don't get to see it, because he looks so composed.

Also, Solas didn't hide to escape retribution for what he did. He did it only because he was working towards his plan. He was already actively working towards fixing his mistake, and the people he wronged - the ancient elves - knew it was him who created the Veil.

I think sometime in the future, when his plan is done, he does think he should face judgement for his mistake. He does say, "The failiure is mine. I should pay the price." But then there's the question: who would judge him? And how? He seems to be the most powerful person around ATM.

The great thing about Solas is his story is definitely not over yet. Love him or hate him, romance or not, his story affected everyone. Hopefully this thread doesn't break the forum, the page numbers might end up reaching colossal heights.

I find this part of the Canticle of Exaltations hopeful:

(13) From every corner of the earth
The Chant of Light echoed,
As the Maker walked the land
With Andraste at His right hand.
And they reached the gates of Minrathous,
Where once a terrible fire swept
The Light of redemption from the face of the world,
And there, the Lady of Restitution
Drew her shining sword
And plunged it into the ground at her feet, saying:

Although the world we know would have to have ended for it to take place.

As for a judge, wasn't that Mythal's thing? Judging people.

If the original Mythal returns, yes!

But Myhtal seems a bit... crazy and distracted by thirst for revenge ATM. Not sure how good a judge she'd be.

Do we really know that she's all that different? I mean, if you take certain twists of canon as her influence, in one form or another she's been manipulating history a long-ass time.
