Recently I saw that both Drew and Sylvia Fekekuty confessed on Twitter that they used to write for Anthem, but are currently on an "unnanounced project", and at first that made me go "Oh, that makes kinda sense." It's a live-service game and the plot is probably just a portion of it, so technically they could finish that "single-player" aspect of it as the game kept being worked on and maybe the writers would return half a year later for DLCs... but then, it maybe doesn't add up. Knowing BioWare games, including Andromeda which also saw Schlerf depart a year prior to launch, it turned out that the writing was very far from done at that time, as John Dombrow and Cathleen Rosaeert took over and their writing is definitely seen in the final game both with the Angarans and some choice-related things in the finale. It just can't be that two primary writers like Drew and Sylvia are done if the game's launch is friggin 2019.
The thing today claiming the project has been postponed makes me think all the story-ppl at BioWare are now on that smaller team working on DA or something. Also the lead animator left and the role has been given to Parish Ley now, which isn't too bad because he's got a great track record... but it does make me question "Why?" and similarly Aaryn Flynn who probably pulled some strings back before, either got fired or left on his own accord after something happened to the project right after E3 last year. It's very unusual to see a team confidently show off a vertical slice and then have one of the biggest studio heads leave just a month later. That smells like someone was let go (by EA), and Casey rushing from his new job at MS to save the sinking ship... that's a very peculiar situation. It all has made me think that something drastic happened to the project back then, and perhaps an earlier vision for it, they'd shown us at E3 has been entirely or partly scrapped, kinda like Destiny when it lost its writer Joseph Staten.
Nobody knows yet ofc, but I'd like to hear what you guys think, especially those who follow more of the devs on Twitter. Who is even Lead writer on this?

We know there are c.300 people working on the Anthem team, a bunch of those concerns seem a bit of a reach.
We'll see some more stuff about Anthem before long (Pax East maybe) then we can judge.
