So who else is playing other games (patiently or not) awaiting anthem?
I've dug in nier automata, which is a welcome surprise gem, and got doom on sale. So I'll be good for a while. I hope.

So who else is playing other games (patiently or not) awaiting anthem? I'm seeing a highly 'game rich' period ahead of Anthem: - September - Shadow of the Tomb Raider
- October - Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
- October - Battlefield V
- October - Red Dead Redemption II
- November - Fallout 76
Not going to be idle (depending on your definition of 'idle')

Not going to be idle (depending on your definition of 'idle') January is the release of the Resident Evil 2 remake and I know plenty of people that either need to be checked for rabies or being a zombie with the way they are frothing for that.

Not going to be idle (depending on your definition of 'idle') only tomb raider and red dead pique my interest, but both of those I might only buy when the price starts to drop. Tomb raider might be reduced by the holiday season...

Automata is a masterpiece. Make sure you have internet connection enabled in settings. I’m playing God Of War vs. Vikings right now. Though I've enjoyed automata immensely (end of route C), I have some remarks which refrain from calling it a masterpiece: - the combo system coudl have been made more fluid: although the animations and such are a sight to behold, the actual mechanics of the combo system are rather basic, compared to, say... bayonetta. If there is a sequel, I hope they keep a couple things in mind, like: + make launching enemies easier (for example: when mid-combo, just pressing a will launch, instead of having to press 2 buttons) + make the combo system more intricate (e.g.: allow heavy and light attacks to combo together fluidly, instead of having separate sequences and restarting at the first of the sequence, also: continuous combo should always be a thing regardless of chip or not, also: the dual weapon system is great, but make the dual attack press light + heavy, so you can combo light and heavy more fluidly) - I love the whole multiple playthrough and ending thing, it's quite unique, but the reuse of the world environments is not a pro. This makes the world seem small in the final stages of the game. OR, what they preferable shoudl have done is make the world change a LOT more, or look like it changed more.
But anyway, those are small remarks to an otherwise really amusing game.
And completely off topic.
Anthem, WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

If you want to talk about Automata in more detail: old.reddit.com/r/nier/new/It's true that Bayonetta's combo system is richer and more lulz per button click, but I think you're missing some stuff in Automata. Launching enemies, for example, is dead easy, and there's at least 3 ways to do it. You might be missing that some combos are initiated by Perfect Evade, jumping and certain plugin chips, not just light + heavy sequences.

I'm just saying: As a long-time fan of such action combat gameplay, I feel those launchers, combo's, ... could've been made even more accessible and that the system is a little too uncomplex for my tastes.
But anime android fanny makes up for that.

I notice the hype train is 5 pages and the anti hype is 25 actually, it's been scientifically proven that talking with someone about similar grievances is better for forming the basis of a bond than similar hobbies. Also, bitching and moaning is easier than constructive talk.

I notice the hype train is 5 pages and the anti hype is 25 Welp...sigh, this is BSN. That would probably hold true even if this was a "traditional" Bioware game. Just wait 'til we're closing in on DA4 and you'll see the discussions will lean toward what it doesn't have rather than focusing on what it does. Even with minimal information the mob will proclaim the end is nigh.

I notice the hype train is 5 pages and the anti hype is 25 It's easier to circle jerk to hate.
The "end is nigh" crowd has a easy job since they don't need evidence to like or dislike something.
