Division 2 is going to come out early 2019, going head to head with Biowares Anthem. Both games are glorified Destiny clones with pseudo-mmo features.
Will Bioware further delay or will it bomb since it's going head to head with division 2 for that mmo-lite looter shooter market???
Also for reference the division had about 20 million unique players therefore it sold around 20 million units. I don't think Bioware could do those numbers.

You know, one could bring up anthems sales but how about it's near dead player count? Pretty impressive for something selling so much 👍
As someone who did play it, it was boring and had terrible design choices to it. Letting players sit on player spawns in pvp side of the game was a great way to kill the deadzones. Then you have the bullet sponge A.I. And a wonky loot setup.
I could go on but nah, already brought up the dead player count so I'm good.

Im guessing you mean Divison an not Anthem UEG an as such my post reflects that.
The Divison aint dead, far from it, an it also wasn't boring, again far from it but thats subjective, cant really comment on pvp as i dont do it but as far as im aware the problem you mentioned was fixed an as far as bullet sponges go by all means describe how not to do a boss fight that isnt a sponge in one form or another, how do you design a boss who doesn't just die from one sniper shot or a couple of AR rounds? Cause that aint a boss thats just another random enemy.
Did it have problems? Yes it did, like every game, but the developers listened to all the feedback and criticism an actually managed to pull back a significant amount of the playerbase in patch 1.8 then further listened to feedback on loot an acquisition of it an are rolling a update out in april based on the feedback which was overwhelmingly praised by the still ever growing playerbase.
Like i said it had problems an i did/do still question some of the decisions made but it far from bad an if Anthem releases an i spend as much time in it at release as i did The Divison then my money been well spent
As for the topic i dont believe Anthem will succeed or fail if Divison 2 comes out same time most ppl i believe if interested in both will buy both an if they enjoy both jump between them as content is released

I read that article and where does it say 2019? They announced the game they are working on a sequel but nothing else seemed to have been mentioned except "stay tuned to E3".

Do you think less than 10k players (Xbox most played list, I'm sure I can find nearly the same #s on other platforms) is good enough for the investment that the division was? Ubisoft is only listening to the sales the first have and ignoring the player data, the second won't get half of that if I wagered. You're just going to see the division turn out like destiny 2. you could call it "subjective" on the game being boring and you wouldn't be wrong, but I play by universal opinion and there's a reason the game doesn't hold players. The fixes ultimately mean little as the first impression is ruined, you're going to get minimal return in the player count with the patches but sure, it shows Ubisoft willing to at least fix it.

The early 2019 release is reported on some forums. Honestly it makes sense for Ubi to release it 3 years after the division 1. We might be seeing Ubisoft and EA battling it out in March 2019 since both games are mechanically similar ie pseudo-mmo, looter shooters, etc...

Most people pick one or the other game. Division launched badly with bugs but it rebuilt its reputation throughout the year into 2017. Bioware on the other hand has the most shot reputation in the video game industry i wouldn't be surprised if Division 2 takes a lot of Anthems sales.

By all means continue playing on your dead platform where it's okay if PUBG launches in an even worse state than the PC version.

Destiny 2 outsold destiny 1. Ok? Now how bout that player population which is the only thing that should matter in a live service game? Still wrong, destiny 2s population is higher and their retention figures are better compared to where d1 was in its lifecycle. Are you unaware of how poorly d1 was received at launch? The idea that sales are not the most important thing is just . . . not even worthy of a response.

I'm afraid your lacking in factual information, go to destinys forums, look up destiny tracker and the various articles on its dropping population being at an all time low and investors backing out of the franchises investments. As someone who frequents destiny I AM NOT wrong. D1 had its issues, enough that I knew D2 would probably carry on but in a worse state and I was right so I don't feel bad for dropping it. Come D3 you'll see those sales plummet because people learned their lesson in D2, you can't fool people three times... sales are important but only to an extent to a live service game. If you want your game to last "10 years" sales ultimately mean little, you need a reason to keep players coming back so player population is far more important in this instance. Sales are only a short term thing and that's the issue these companies face, they don't think to much for the long term even if they want make it that long.

Any tweet that goes like those from Andromeda pre-launch where the team was visibly depressed and worried about their own work and I'm out for good. No more BioWare for me. I like to think ppl like Drew, Mike or David Gaider have left for greater ventures in smaller studios and freelancing and I'm kinda sick of the "too many cooks in the kitchen" and mismanaged AAA anyway, and fwiw BioWare had a good run for at least 10 years.

The numbers and comparisons are published on the Reddit. They're free for everyone to see. Your comments on sales are ridiculous on their faces. They're the primary revenue driver even in mtx/live service models except of course for f2p models, not to mention they're a prerequisite to derive the downstream revenue. You'd know that if you've even ever glanced at any of these companies' financial statements.
