I've thought some more on it.
There won't be dialogue options at all in this game.

I've thought some more on it. There won't be dialogue options at all in this game. Would it matter? They could either literally have no options, or have a dialogue wheel that effectively gives no options -- other than to pursue optional dialogue or not -- to appease the dialogue wheel litmus testers. HZD does the latter, the dialogue wheel is just an affordance for people replaying the game to skip dialogue they already know. With one or two exceptions, there are no real choices. If a big new RPG can get away without having dialogue options, or even narrative choices, I don't see why Anthem can't. The implied contract of the Bioware brand notwithstanding.

But dialogue options can technically still be implemented even if the game doesn’t have different story outcomes. It would just flavor scenes even if they play out the same way.

It certainly seems to be the same voice through the entire trailer, and there is no discernible difference between "player voice" and "character voice", at least not to my ears.

The voice of the freelancer talking to Praxley is more husky, raspy. How would it work anyway?

There’s a notable shift in the way the speaker talks, although I wouldn’t be surprised if they retained the same actress.

It's not like there's a visible choice being made like accepting or declining the quest. You run into the NPC, NPC gives his monologue, and you have a new quest. And you talk at your screen between the NPC's sentences. No technology required. We'll see, I suppose.

Yeah but how are you going to get a plausible reaction from the NPC on your player answer. If I as a player just go in entirely different direction conversationvise than Praxley is programmed to respond? Talk about immersion breaking. That scene and the game was not finished so it is natural that we don't get any dialogue choices there. In the finished product I think we will be handling it more like we are used to from their recent games. Maybe turn down Praxley even but none of that was ready for EA play last year.

That is entirely possible of course. The whole thing looked very scripted and there was no visible UI anywhere, not even when the two other players join near the end of the mission. You'd think that would require at least an invitation to join the game being sent to them first, and even if they had joined on their own by pure coincidence, most games give you a message when players are joining your session. It's just something that made me curious and I'll keep an eye on the game to see how it shapes up.

I actually feel reasonably certain that the entire Tarsus portion of that demo was a cinematic mock up of the quest acceptance process. I’m not reading too much into it in terms of how quests will actually be given to players.

Hm...
Combat invitations may be something like this: (1) You are approached as in Trailer I (2) There is a Mission Board in the HUB(s) (3) Something like MEAMP.
On a mission, players may join you if the group is short as in other ME MP games. I doubt Bio will design MP to be complex in mission assignment / joining / invitations. I'll expect public and private group combat as found in the ME universe. The Private option fulfills Bio's "play with your friends" statement. In HORDE mode or RAIDS I expect clan only members for clans vs clan events and public events on a first come basis sub categorized by experience/level.
My view is that this "shared" world is another corp word with an internal definition but is used as a marketing tool to imply something else.

Hopefully this will settle the "voiced PC" debate (my emphasis added): xAceBoog11x 1. Will my character have a voice? 2. What is the Fire Team size? 3. an we have customizable suits similar to Weaponsmith in TC games? Brenon Holmes 1. Yes. 2. We'll probably have more information about this soon. 3. There is suit customization, yes. I'm not sure what specifically you're referring to though - so I can't say how similar what we have is. 😊

I’m not reading too much into it in terms of how quests will actually be given to players. Warframe in its recent expansion does this well. Players gather around the quest giver, you pick a mission and head out. You can go with friends, or public randoms.
