I don't know, I guess for me the difference is one is a human and the other is a Darkspawn.
So I let Avernus do as he pleases and I kill the Architect because it's my duty as a warden.

I kill them both because of what they are doing despite the "good" it might do in the future. They are using human lives for their projects, killing humans, and that is where it stops for me...they die.
