At the very end when Charlotte/Abernathy was getting onto the boat to get off the park. He leaned in and mentioned his "core directive". Yeah, his entire speech was littered with subtext;
"The old man himself hired me, so many years ago I can barely remember it. But he was very clear about my role here. About who I was supposed to be loyal to. Guess you could call it... my 'core drive'. I'm responsible for every host... inside the park." Sorry, you were right. Core DRIVE, not directive. But that's the speech I meant.

I've heard a few complaints about the show seemingly abandoning the Westworld setting in S3, but there's actually a good reason for this (besides the story), because those filming sets were unfortunately destroyed by the California wildfires last year. So if you were wondering why the park appeared burnt down when Bernard returned in Ep 2, that's the reason why. Also regarding a certain cameo in Ep 2 that's gotten some flack; HBO filmed Benioff and Weiss' cameo long before S8 of Game of Thrones even premiered, so they couldn't have known it would go down like a lead balloon among hardcore GOT fans who are still livid about the way the show ended.

Not a fan of Westworld only seen a handful of episodes but bringing up Thrones it is something that I am kind of watching dispassionatley the reaction too. I just think people need to take a chill pill. Thrones was fine and certain other franchises and storylines from last year ended fine too thank you very much.

Well...that's depressing. Yeah, it seems to happen a lot to Western film sets.
The ones from Back to the Future 3 were also destroyed by fire a few years after that film came out.
Shame because it would have been fun to tour both of those sets.
Not a fan of Westworld only seen a handful of episodes but bringing up Thrones it is something that I am kind of watching dispassionatley the reaction too. I just think people need to take a chill pill. Thrones was fine and certain other franchises and storylines from last year ended fine too thank you very much. Thrones was great as an adaptation of the books, until they ran out of books to adapt.
The reason the post-book seasons are so slated (particularly the finale) is because neither D&D are very good writers (and nowhere near the level of GRRM) and they've openly admitted multiple times to having written for the actors, not the characters they were playing.
The show was good when it was following the book's plot, journeys took time and character's actions often had dire consequences. But by the end of the show, the plot was a nonsensical, contrived mess, people are teleporting across a continent the size of South America in mere minutes (rather than seasons) and characters could survive any situation due to heavy plot armour.
Take S6 for instance, where Lancel Lannister (not a main character) was stabbed once in the gut and was down for the count, unable to do anything but crawl feebly. Whereas Arya (main character) was stabbed multiple times before falling into a dirty canal, but then after being stitched up, was immediately able to have a parkour action chase across Braavos, before defeating the Waif in single combat.
Remember when Robb's wife was stabbed repeatedly in the gut in the exact same manner as Arya and survived? No, because back in S3 getting shanked a bunch of times wasn't portrayed as something that you could walk off. Even Jon couldn't survive getting brutally stabbed to death and had to be brought back by magic.
That kind of poor writing is why the later seasons were panned.

Is it weird that I still can't tell who the good guys are in this season, and there is only one episode left?

Is it weird that I still can't tell who the good guys are in this season, and there is only one episode left? Weird? Good? I think so. S3 has been a marked improvement on S2, I've found. Each episode has improved the overall quality in turn and ep7 followed that trajectory by being the best one so far this season. Enjoyed the reveal for Caleb's backstory and the fight scene that went in tandem with it, very much.

There was a lot of dust on him when he came to. All in all, it was a weird episode and not really as good as the rest of the season, but it was ok.

There was a lot of dust on him when he came to. All in all, it was a weird episode and not really as good as the rest of the season, but it was ok. I thought so. This is the first time I thought the series ended with an annoying cliffhanger. The previous seasons I found ended with questions, and poorly for humanity, but I found them to be self contained tragedies. This one ended similarly, but... ...I guess I'm not a fan of violent revolutionaries being lauded as philosophical heroes or something, and making (prime?) Delores a hero just seemed fan-servicey. Bernard, Stubbs, and William all seemed underused. I like that William deals with his darkness at the park the way Anakin dealt with his in the RotS novelization climax - "yeah, it's just me."
Also, did Delores have a plan to save/free humanity by uploading herself, or did she just decide to do that at the end without telling the other Delores hosts after Hale betrayed her, and Serac broke the alternative strategy? That whole sequence was confused. Eh, but it was well made. Westworld is one of those shows I really can't take my eyes off of when it's on.

The previous seasons I found ended with questions, and poorly for humanity, but I found them to be self contained tragedies. Agreed - it's almost as this season was setting up a multi-season arc, but if it was...what were the first two doing...? Regarding the spoilered section; Agree about Delores and the violent revolutionary "hero" angle.
Regarding her plan - I don't know, but I have a feeling you're right. Delores Hale's interference caused a sudden course correction. I feel like her original plan was far more direct, less subtle and violent. But that's just a feeling.
I was impressed that she chose to hide the key to the Sublime in Bernard, though. Stroke of genius. Eh, but it was well made. Westworld is one of those shows I really can't take my eyes off of when it's on. 100% agree. It's not always gripping, but it is almost always fascinating.

So let me see if I understand this logic from Dolores; Caleb not wanting to rape robot women is what made him eligible as future leader of humanity and arbiter of his species' fate. I know that she's not got exactly the best view of humanity after all she's been through, but I dunno, doesn't that like a really low bar for picking someone?
What if it turned out that Caleb was gay and that his decision wasn't just based on his belief that it was morally wrong, but because those hosts went against his sexual preference? Or what if he didn't want his men to sleep with the hosts because he's simply not down with the concept of robosexuality?
I'm sure that Delores would have checked his profile to see exactly why he made that choice, but that's information the audience is never privy to, so it comes across as a pretty flimsy rationale for choosing him of all people to be such an integral part of her scheme.
