Got the command console up and working.
The trouble I am running into is the item codes do not seem to be working. Of course I can be a complete idiot and over-looked something.
Only need for the console is to add in potions since the game has such a piss poor amount. Thus, I’ll use the command line for health pots and end up with a big fat raspberry.
I’ve tried Vaddi and Waddi which are all fine and good for adding a single item, but there does not seem to be a way to add multiples. And of course, if there is a way to do so the directions and peoples comments don’t show an answer.
And then I did Google searching and that yielded nothing.
Anyone here care to help out an “old” lady please.

I don't think I've ever used the console in DA2 to add items.
However for Origins, the console syntax requires a .uti extension for it to work - for me at least, though the wiki says otherwise.
As an example, the first thing I do in Witch Hunt is spawn three Manuals of Focus so that I can respec the new party members eg:
runscript additem gxa_im_tome_unlearning.uti 3
This works for me, but if I leave out the .uti then it does not.
Is it possible that this is also required for DA2?
For health pots in DA2, the Black Emporium actually sells standard health potions, but personally I just make Elfroot potions. As far as I'm able to ascertain they are as good as Health pots, with the added advantage of them curing an injury.

And the console seemed to work just fine. However, with DA2 the commands are basically given me the finger. Example: I'll type in: runscript additem gen_im_cns_pot_health_01 20 And then Enter. OK. Nothing. Let's try: runscript additem gen_im_cns_pot_health_01.uti 20 Still nothing. Then of course I try all sorts of combinations. Without the additem, lower amount, higher amount, etc etc. Yeah! I normally run around and collect every potion possible. And I could make some sure, but I was hoping to just use the command. Apparently not. LOL!

Hmm clearly it's not the extension issue then. I'm afraid that once again I'm at a loss.
Just finished the Sky Horror fight in DA:2 literally 20 minutes ago, and Elfroot potions were absolutely fine for keeping everyone alive combined with mage healing. Took me a couple of attempts because Talis took an unlucky hit when the Horror spawned right behind her and immediately AOEd, (I was focusing on the adds and not paying enough attention to the boss) - but second attempt was all good.

Yeah, uh Tallis. I think a wet paper bag can last longer in combat then she can. Oh and how rude of me, thank you for your assistance. I guess when it comes to issues with DA games I ended up being the one who gets the weird and unexplained bullshit. Lovely.

Wait a moment....
Some how I over-looked the top...
Says, I need an additem.erf file which can be downloaded at the BSN site. Well, that is nice....considering the place is shut-down.
If this is indeed true, any other place I cant get it?

Yes. I've used that and Vad's. While those MODs are good programs, they do not or at least do not tell you how to input for multiples. I only use the console for MODs, potions, cash and fixing the occasional bug. So using the above programs while useful they are useless for my needs. As of right now I used a work-around - Cheat Engine - to get oodles of potions. Still, I would love to have the erf, if of course such a thing is needed and/or still exists. Thank you all for the help.

Sadly the additem.erf lived only on BSN, and as far as I am aware is now impossible to get, unless there is some way to track down the original author. Not sure if it's any help, or use, but if you're struggling for gold to the extent that you need to use console commands there's a mod called 'Valuable Junk' that does exactly as the name suggests, and is also far less hassle than spawning it in from the console, as well as feeling a bit less 'cheaty'. www.nexusmods.com/dragonage2/mods/2453I'd still recommend elfroot potions as the way forward when it comes to healing pots. Talis, like all D.W Rogues is very vulnerable to direct spell effects, and AOE damage. She's certainly very squishy for the Sky Horror fight, however for general combat giving her a big enough defense bonus will ensure that she rarely-if-ever gets hit as she'll simply dodge and parry most normal attacks. Her role as a kind of pseudo ranged attacker with melee capability also helps keep her alive against most boss fights, as long as you are careful. I like to take a Maker's Sigh potion along with me to the Chateau and immediately respec her, giving her 15 Constitution, 15 Stamina 40 cunning, and the rest dumped into dexterity. The high defense bonus from cunning generally keeps her from being hit too often. I'll also save any rings, belts and amulets that give bonuses to defense and critical strike for her. After that put all ability points into her specialist tree, and also make sure she has the basics from the DW tree, Twin Fangs being the most important. She'll also need Precision plus the upgrades from the Specialist tree and Blindside from the Scoundrel tree. Any other points can be put into whatever you think is fun. Miasmic Flask is useful, as is Back to Back and Stealth, but there's plenty of other options as long as the 'bread and butter' build is complete.

Well, I for one still think its a damn shame and strange Bioware shut down their social page. Oh well, nothing you can do about idiocy. Oh, I rarely have gold issues and (laughs) I did install that MOD. I do the exact same thing! I take a potion with me to respect Tallis. Oh no, I was just gripping about how Tallis so easily falls during the Sky Horror fight. But I have to keep reminding myself the arcane horrors spells in DA2 are ramp up to "OMFG" mode. Maybe its just me and I have "Classic role play syndrome" and I must have stamina, mana and health pots. Having a potion called, "Elfroot" makes it seem too weird for me.
