1. I stand corrected, forgot that detail of Cap taking MeowMeow for a time walk. Thank you for solving this falsehood I had concocted. 2. The Eternals was so bad I had blocked it from memory. Icarus... So I stand corrected part two. 3. DragonKingReborn - exactly on taking it too far, everytime. Ragnarok found perfect balance for this to me. Ragnarok's weakest special effects were 10x better than the "best" effects in LaT, to me the visual effects aspect is where the movie failed the most. Almost like Disney isn't paying VFX people very well. Something about that in the news for a while now, and hot-damn you get what you pay for. Not paid enough and - it seems - not given enough time to work miracles, let alone standard work. I am enjoying She Hulk, but the vfx quality leaves a lot to be desired. Assuming the people they use haven’t suddenly become incompetent, the issue must be one of deadlines. Crunch isn’t cool, no matter what industry you’re in. Waititi lives life like an episode of Family Guy. Sometimes it works for him. Sometimes it doesn’t.

...the vfx quality leaves a lot to be desired. Assuming the people they use haven’t suddenly become incompetent, the issue must be one of deadlines. Crunch isn’t cool, no matter what industry you’re in. It actually is a combination of several factors. 1. A lot of people my age have had it with the industry. Our union betrayed us on the last contract, and it was kind of a last straw for me. So, there is a brain drain going on throughout the industry and VFX is part of that. 2. VFX has to be "shoehorned" in. There is never a good time for it, and producers are so focused on budget that they fail to allow VFX to occur properly. What does this mean? VFX requires the set to be perfectly lit the way it was during the live action. This requires an additional lighting programmer (who is expensive) to come in at wrap and control the lighting for them. This is a problem on every single Disney/Marvel production, they don't get it and don't want to pay for it. This can significantly affect how well VFX can do their job. It is done after wrap - that means it is "off-production", there is no craft service, no catering, minimal supervision but the medic has to be there and some PA/AD people to get the out times when it is all done. This creates layers of scheduling problems because we are contractually obligated to get a minimum turnaround (sleep time) and we all need to come in at the same time. 3. COVID-19 is an actual real disease that makes lots of people sick. With testing protocols, replacing people on the fly is difficult, and most productions actually overhire as a result so that they have coverage for this situation. However, every production is doing this, so... there is a labor shortage. VFX has suffered due to C19, brain drain and jackasses in charge.

The latest She-Hulk episode was meh but that hater website at the end was hilarious. It's more plausible to see dudes petitioning She-Hulk to make an onlyfans account.

I actually thought it was one of the better episodes. Definitely one of the funniest. The humour still isn’t quite landing like I hoped it would, but it’s good enough.
The incels probably tried to get her on Onlyfans and when it was obvious she wasn’t going for it, then they went dark.

I have enjoyed all the episodes so far....Really my only gripe is the run-time, because (as I have said before) I feel that at 30 minutes nothing much of note happens, and by the time you (I) find myself really getting into the episode-- it's over and I'm left looking for more... like "that's it...? There's gotta be more".

After a couple of 'alright' episodes, E8 was easily the best - and happily - the funniest, so far. No doubt the super surprise special guest added something to the whole thing, but basically everything about it landed for me.

Okay, just watched Werewolf by Night. Overall, it's not bad, even if I found the whole black and white cinematography kinda distracting. A bit worse is that by the end I felt a bit bait-and-switched. Given the title, I would have thought Jack Russell would be the main character. Turned out he was a supporting character and the whole story was focused on: this being Elsa Bloodstone's origin story.

Yeah that season finale was something else. The writers should have taken their own advice with She-Hulk's meta commentary and saved Skaar's intro for a film because it seemed so cheap.

I've always been a casual fan of the MCU at best; I don't know if I could really even be called a fan. The last movie I watched was Far from Home. I enjoyed Far from Home and Thor Ragnarok in particular, but was neutral/negative in my outlook toward most of the rest of the movies. Infinity War and Captain Marvel were above average for the MCU, I thought. Dr. Strange was cool too, but more because I'm partial to him as a character; the movie itself wasn't necessarily outstanding. Haven't seen GotG 1, Thor 1, the Hulk, and maybe one or two more prior to Far From Home. I've been considering giving some of the newer movies a shot, despite Endgame putting me off majorly to the franchise a while back. Any recommendations for the best of the newer movies, so I don't have to cut through all the minutia? Shang Chi - for me. Easily. Excellent fight scenes and an extremely likeable main character. Couple of cameos (ignoring post credits). One was much better than the other.

I thought it was very chaotic and ADD (and this is coming from someone who actually has a life-long formal diagnosis of A.D.D. and so I can recognize the signs)...very all-over-the-place. And while I kinda like the '4th Wall-Breaking"....This was TOOO MUCH. Honestly the more I watch this show....the more I realize I stick with it only to see the CGI character of She-Hulk. I know you all will think I'm nuts...But there's somethin' kinda sexy about her character design. I mean, women who are actually taller than me in real-life...kind of intimidate me (I'll be perfectly candid here) because I always think being a guy that it is embarrassing having the woman being the one to bend down and hug/kiss etc. Not your social norm. BUT at the same time, I find the whole super-tall, lean, athletic body type and appearance to be very attactive on a woman. So for me, this Season Finale was not at all what I thought it would be. Very chaotic and too much shattering of the Fourth Wall. And why was Abomination like 4 feet taller than the Hulk?? Hulk may as well just have been Bruce Banner, having to jump to punch Abomination in the chest. Where as in Ed Norton's movie they were the same height, which made more sense.

I disliked the writer's abuse of Jen's 4th wall commentary because they presented a dilemma, Captain Incel hulking out from Jen's stolen blood, and swept it under the rug as if she rewrote reality like she's Franklin Richards. I thought the joke about Kevin Feige being a soulless AI was amusing, and was the only positive i can think of right now for the finale. I agree with you on She-Hulk's design and i welcome it over Aaron's redesign that looks like Bruce in a wig. About the Hulk being shorter, someone did a size comparison and MCU's Professor Hulk's a head size shorter than regular Hulk who was roughly around the height of 2008's Incredible Hulk while Abomination from eyeballing him in She-Hulk looks like he's 2-3 feet taller than his 2008 incarnation. qph.cf2.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-0802deffd2fa489367290311bc238c27-pjlqqph.cf2.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-a6d62aa3157873fd5f22b1cc21e5a95d-pjlq

E8 was better, but this was good enough. The meta implication that worthless incels don’t get to go out in a blaze of glory worked for me. Whatshisname was a lame, rich loser who got rejected by a woman he was in no way good enough for and tried to ruin her.
If they had allowed the stolen blood angle to run, he would have had a few moments of power before going out as a martyr to similarly pathetic men. And that is too good an outcome for people like that.
Hulks son thing was weird, but whatever. I’m assuming it will make sense later on in another series or movie.
K.E.V.I.N is MVP. Loved the ‘cap’ on his design.

I think the She-Hulk finale was one of my favourite endings to anything the MCU has done - and the true spiritual ending to Phase 4 as a whole. They've been doing a lot of work lately to address the criticism of all of their stuff having the same third act, and say what you want about it, that ending was about as far from the formulaic CGI brawl with glowy portals as you could get. Not everything they've tried this phase has worked for me (I thought Eternals was dreadful) but it's really great to see them throwing stuff at the wall, whether it sticks or not. Also Matt and Jen are adorable together. I realise that Born Again is probably not going to end with Matt moving to the West Coast, but I honestly would not mind if it did. I really hope Jen flies over east to see him at some point for a cameo.
And thanks Jen for having our backs on trying to find out when the X-Men are arriving. I'm not actually in a hurry for more mutants to get here, since the MCU has plenty to be getting on with in the meantime, but it's cool of her to think of us.

Oh, and I completely agree on the Eternals comment. Being Hard of Hearing (and moderately fluently in American Sign Language), being an ally of the Deaf/HoH community and having friends (or ex girlfriends) who are Deaf....the highlight (and best character) in Eternals for me, was Lauren Ridloff's 'Makari'. I fel though that while the use of ASL was accurate and done justice.....I felt like there wasn't enough of it (for me). Outside of seeing a culturally Deaf character on-screen in a super hero movie....The movie itself was a complete bore. I slept through most of it the first time, then sat through it a second time-- only this time FFW'D'ing to all the parts where her character was at the forefront and had dialogue, only paying attention to those parts. I have not bothered to even think of the movie since then.

So apparently, hiring actual fans of the comics is somehow a “red flag” to the producers at Marvel. That this franchise is being helmed by arrogant hacks gives me no hope for its future. I don’t understand how these big studios seem adamant in hiring people who actively dislike the source material or older iterations of the property. This is why Star Wars is in the shitter, and the Witcher lost its lead.

Watched Black Panther: Wakanda Forever the other day.
It was fine. The grief of losing a person that many of them were close with would have been hard enough, but then having to change plans because of that loss and acknowledge it on screen without seeming to take advantage of it must have been a nightmare I don't even want to imagine.
The movie itself was a bit too long, and Namor a bit too powerful. I liked the strategy Shuri came up with to defeat him, though.
Riri Williams was great - and I really like how we've got enough 'time' within this universe where all these heroes are 'celebrities', as well - as seen in the Ant-Man trailer.
