Finished Castle Rock season 2 last night.
I enjoyed season 1 quite a bit. Season 2 was a huge improvement, in my view. Lizzy Caplan was outstanding from start to finish. Similar, slightly too slow start, but once that was past the tension kept ramping up to a highly satisfying pay-off and then denouement in the final episode.

Been rewatching the reimagined Battlestar Galactica tv series on my Blu-ray collection. Currently on season 2. Just got done watching Pegasus. One of my favorite episodes. Glad they made Razor and give us more insight in the complex character of Admiral Cain.

So watched Lost in Space Season 1, if it weren't for the robot and my kids wanting to keep watching I would have stopped after the 3rd episode. The actors are terrible, Dr. Smiths character is just dreadful and sorry not being sexist but having grown up watching the original the sex change and personality change was hard for me to look past. The changes to Don's character making him into a stereotyped "lovable rascal" rather than the flawed but eminently capable and serious 2IC also didn't work.
That said I am glad I stuck with it, the last 3 episodes redeemed it to the point that I am now looking forward to watching it, just have to decide whether to wait till it is on DVD or just reactivate my Netflix subscription.
Would I recommend it???????? Not sure but if you are desperate for some VERY LIGHT SciFi give it a go.

dazk Yup. It was terrible indeed! It got worse each episode. Boyfriend and I dragged ourselves through it but wasn't worth it. One of the best examples of Netflix doing their thing trying to be suuuper progressive and butchering the whole thing as a result. It was extremely boring and the characters a total mess. I agree! Can't believe they made a second season... Well, it was better than Nightflyers at least... Tales From The Loop is looking very promising. I've only seen the first episode so far, but worth it for the visuals alone. Veeeery slow show though.

Yeah it was just a train wreck TBH, even the visual style they went for was ordinary and the plot holes and the inconsistencies in what happened on the planet between different character arc's was terrible. Some were being attacked all the time when they were out in groups and yet individuals roamed free whenever they wanted. The only actor that could hold their head up high was the one that played Penny, the rest were wooden to say the least. Thanks for the heads up re Tales from The Loop, it looked interesting in the advertisements, will hold off on that for a while.

I'm about to finish this little show here: Super flawed... and super HAWT... It's a very scintillating and salacious show. I think if one can look beyond the fact that this is fiction and that psychotherapists DON'T do the things that the main character does, then it's pretty enjoyable.

We watched the first episode of Space Force and laughed (softly) exactly once. Great cast but the show seemed dull. Maybe it improves later on?

It was softly laughable in a few places yes, but I read it sinks after episode 3. I just felt like they were trying so hard to be 'woke', with the Trump references and calling the Cortez lady clone 'the angry Congresswoman'......that cringey 'Hollywood being political with all the subtlety of a sledgehammer' thing. It'll age like a strawberry left out in the sun. Also, a great cast in a bad show is just soooo sad And omg Phoebe got old. How dare she.

Space Force must be the unfunniest comedy I've ever tried. My gawd...
I thought that other space comedy with Hugh Laurie on the cruise ship was bad, as in not funny. But boy, Space Force is a complete mess. The narrative is so weird and devoid of any spark or any kind of emotional cues.
I didn't even know it was a Trump satire btw. Just read reviews after watching the first episode during lunch just now. Not that it really makes any difference.

Why are half of all Netflix shows utter trash?!"--Kappa Neko
I have to agree with you there, Kappa. Same can be said with Amazon Prime and Rogers on Demand. Hell, probably 3/4s of the entire Movie/TV/Hollywood Entertainment Industry. They just aren't writing/producing/making any good movies. The stories are crap, the scripts are unoriginal,un-funny.... I mean, the last truly enjoyable movie I saw in the theaters was ALITA. I know some people may not like it, that may not be their cup of tea so to speak...and hey, even the movie itself may have had its flaws...But for me, that was the last movie I actually can say I enjoyed and was worth going to the theaters and pay nearly 20 dollars for. And I know I'm gonna catch flack for this, but I also enjoyed TLJ and TROS- yet those too, can be picked apart. They certainly weren't perfect.
My point is, it's not just NETFLIX that is lacking, or PRIME, or Disney+.....It's the entire Industry. I mean, for the thousands of movies available to Bell or Rogers ON Demand.....I would be hard pressed to find even a half dozen that are worth paying 8.00 dollars for to rent. Truth be told, streaming movies on demand isn't the same. "Friday Night Movie Night" doesn't have the same feel or appeal to it as it did when they had video stores. I miss going to my neighourhood Blockbuster, chatting with the people who worked there, browsing the aisles for a movie......Coming home, popping a physical DVD/Blu-Ray into the player....Sitting down and enjoying the movie.
About the only thing I can say about streaming movies on demand these days is it completely negates the late charges and other service fees that BlockBuster charged.

Space Force was a big disappointment. We were both all excited because we saw who was in it: Steve Carell, Lisa Kudrow, Jane Lynch, etc. And then we watched the first episode. There was one chuckle. That was it. No laughs, not even much smiling. The plot, such as it was, was dull. The characters felt flat and were uninteresting. It's as though they blew their entire budget on hiring good actors and hired college sorority pledges to write the script. Did they forbid improv? Because normally Jane Lynch is flat out hilarious and she seemed muted.
There's awful bad and then boring bad. Space Force is boring bad. Give me Sharknado any day over this pile of cardboard.

I finished The Order (Netflix) season 2. I'll put it on par with season 1 with maybe a bit of an up tick in budget which means more CGI used. The Order is a low budget supernatural series, uneven acting, old school camera works + props instead of CGI all the time and you all know the actors and backgrounds from other Vancouver productions. It also has dark humor, high body count, swearing, nerdy references, lots of guts and blood and dramas. Lots of drama actually. It's R-rated. I saw someone says it was Supernatural meet Riverdale. I can't say if that is accurate, as I haven't watched either of those shows. There is also some ethical and philosophical debates in both seasons too. Like season 1, it is somewhat slow in the first two episodes, but mid-way it totally pick up and end on a crazy ending...again. And now I need a 3rd season because of that ending. Like WTF. Season 2 felt like the first half of a 20 episodes season to me, while season 1 was more complete. Hopefully they did that because Netflix already approved a S3. Do not watch if you can only tolerate BBC award wining dramas. Why are half of all Netflix shows utter trash?! Because even before streaming existed the majority of movies and series were trash. Streaming Money didn't magically transform people who made trash shit into them making good shit and a lots of actors move these productions because it doesn't require doing promotion and are often closer to home which means more time with your kids.

Well, this bears no similarities to any of the Foundation books I've read (and I've read them all). In fact, if the trailer hadn't mentioned Hari Seldon or psychohistory, I would've thought I was watching a trailer for the new Dune movie or something like that. Jared Harris would not have been my first choice for Hari Seldon, or second, or third. Also, Eto Demerzel is a pseudonym for R. Daneel Olivaw and he was a guy last time I checked, yet he's played by Laura Birn? If I had to take a guess, I'd say maybe this series takes place or starts around the time of Forward the Foundation? I would've started with Prelude.
PS: I see that David Goyer's involved with this. That explains a few things.

Anybody watch Netflix's Freud? When I read Austrian Sherlock Holmes crime series with a emphasis on psychology I got super interested. I knew it was going to have a supernatural touch but good grief... By episode 4 the show is so ludicrous I can't take it seriously anymore! Not sure I want to watch the remaining 4 episodes... Freud is actually the least interesting character on the show. The acting is so wooden I wonder if it's on purpose. Maybe the actor is just really bad. (On the plus side, I love the Austrian dialect.) Only decent narrative on the show is about the old policeman who suffers PTSD from the war.
This show is about as believable as The X Files episode "Pusher" if anybody remembers... Not wait, that episode was actually good and scary.

Watched 3 episodes of Medical Police. It’s actually kind of hilarious. Lampooning the “elite police force” trope, that solve the crime neatly, but they’re doctors with no legal standing or training. Well acted with some utterly absurd moments.
Watched 2 episodes of Warrior Nun, which, near as I can tell, is a modern take on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but instead of a Chosen One, she’s an accident. It’s...ok. Will try at least one more episode before deciding to leave it or carry on.

This show is about as believable as The X Files episode "Pusher" if anybody remembers... Not wait, that episode was actually good and scary. I love psychology-related shows and I live in Vienna, so obviously I had to watch it. And I agree with you almost 100% xD The storyline about the old policeman was really good. He's a pretty famous Austrian actor, and wow - that role was perfect for him (or vice versa). He felt like the only "real" person in the show - well, maybe also his police buddy who was an interesting addition, and they were a good team all in all. On the other hand, that Hungarian couple was just cringe-worthy through the whole show. As for the main character, I agree that he wasn't the most exciting but all in all, I felt like it fit the general theme of the show. The most stupid thing about it in my opinion was the constnant hypnotising business which just happens to work on everybody all the time. I mean, WTF? I really would have liked the show to be a bit more subtle in hat approach, and give more scientific evidence. But maybe my expectation was just wrong, I also didn't know that there would be a supernatural element involved. So yeah, I watched through it but I regret it for the most part
