So, a question for the 'oldies' How long have you been posting on any of the incarnations of BSN? There was: - Even older BioWare forum (Pre-2008)
- BioWare forum (2008-2009)
- BSN BioWare Social Network (2010-2013)
- The BioWare Forum (2013-10/2016)
- New BSN (us) (08/2016 - date)
And who's our 'longest-serving member' across all the incarnations?

Hmm....
Original BSN BioWare Social Network (?-?) Not entirely sure. I lurked there for a long time before evening creating an account. Mostly used it as a resource for KOTOR tips. Did eventually join and post (David Gaider even answered a question of mine!) but it was under a different name. WardenKiwi? KiwiWarden? Something like that. Would only have been a handful of posts. I disappeared pre-Origins release and rejoined the community in it's "Bioware Forum" guise a year/year and a half later.
The BioWare Forum : March 2010 was my join date, and I assume my first post was around then. I was a far less frequent poster there.
New BSN (us) (08/2016 - date) : August 3rd, 2016 - been half drunk ever since.

I joined the original BSN right around Neverwinter Nights, so June of 2002? I didn't become mousestalker until November of 2009.

Lessee, it was early 2011 when I joined Bioware Forum. Newly introduced to the whole Bioware games thing through Mass Effect. Gobbled up ME. Played ME2, gobbled that up. They were unlike anything I had ever experienced in video games before. Then found out I had to Wait for ME3. So, I came looking for...something. Others that loved these games as much as I did?
BSN then introduced me to Dragon Age, and some non Bioware games that I loved.
No regrets.

Couldn't tell you dates so here goes...
Joined around ME1 release for no particular reason.
Didn't go back until I played DA:O years later for the Shale DLC. Dala Kaar. IIRC you needed to make a custom avatar from DA:O or something weird. I didn't post much, maybe just a question or something.
I went back early ME3MP days for a bit but me and my two roommates left the game after getting bored of the Trollstore. That's around the time of Dalakaar w/banshee avatar.
'Wound up giving ME3MP another try after getting bored of all the goddamned talking in SP and seeing a trailer for Retaliation. Did not know what I would be getting into... ...761 hours later I max my manifest legitimately...(Edit, forgot to mention here, 761 hours and a few minutes later I finally let myself discover /giveallmatchconsumables and never look back.)
Then I pretty much just theorycrafted(5%) and shitposted(95%) on BSN til a month before it closed. That I believe is when Cyonan started this site up. Dalakaar my original avatar was pretty early here. It was the evening it was created IIRC. Now wander around here with an avatar more suited to my current outlook on life.

Well, I was on the Old BSN under the same username. I have no idea on any dates. Generally stuck to the Ashley/Kaidan/Liara fan group in the group section and roamed around in the Ashley thread in the squadmate section. If I wasn't there I was in the general discussion area. I assume I joined during ME1 or possibly pre ME2. According to my profile, I joined the New BSN in January of last year.

I don't think I could come up with a definite year. I joined some version of original BSN between BG2 and NWN. I distinctly remember Gromnir Il-Khan and his "Ha! Good fun!" signature quote. And getting an email from Nathan Plewes which was both helpful and funny. Good times. I stayed on original BSN / BioWare forums until they shut down and headed straight to this place after that.

I think the sequencing might be a little bit off, SJ. There was an even older forum... some kind of original BioWare Forum... that existed leading up to Dragon Age: Origins. That was the one the REALLY old-timers remember as the "good ol' days" when the devs were all over it and regularly interacting. That is also where Thedas was spawned... short for THE Dragon Age Setting, what everyone was calling it back when the game was in development (and the fans shortened that rather long name to THEDAS). Eventually calling the world Thedas in Dragon Age was a direct nod to the fanbase. Sadly, that forum predates me, but I have heard the tales of it. After that came the original BioWare Social Network, the site of the black background. It was around at least by 2010, as that is when I joined the scene. After that came the conversion to The BioWare Forum, where we woke up one day to a snow-blinding white background and all the old links for the Resource Libraries no longer worked, so I spent that sick day off work (legitimately ill with the flu) desperately manually rebuilding the Libraries with the updated new links by searching for every... single... lost... thread. And then The Purge came, and we are here now.

I showed up on the original boards a bit after Gileadan. About a month after NWN released, I think. This was actually a fairly toxic era , IIRC. Tons of "why isn't this BG3" and so on.

I guess ever since ME3 was announced. Lurked around a lot, ended up participating on the off-topic and its spam threads (I guess someone can remember the day BSN went full batshit crazy, creating asterisk and hashtags threads all over the place, screwing up the layout; and the other time Eric let the MP Balance Thread open and hell got loose) created the 5 letter sentence thread, then moved on to the Mass Effect forums, asking some questions about Multiplayer and decided to take part on the story conversations as well. Then, BSN shut down, we got moved to the Bioware Forums and I started to participate even more on the discussions, even off-topic ones, such as Star Wars, until I went off grid for a while, and that whole place got shut down as well. Then, we moved to this forum (some went to "secondary" forums, like Vroom Vroom's and Cassandra's, I still have an account on Vroom's forums) and I got word that you guys were reuniting everyone in another fan-forum. Then I joined, but didn't post a lot here like I used to. I'm working my way on that now, though

I joined the original BSN in late 2010 or early 2011, after i bought ME2. I wasn't active though, had a total of five or so posts on that board and stopped lurking soon afterwards as ME3 seemed so far away. I came back (pretty angry) after the ending debacle and kind of got stuck, stayed lurking. I didn't mind the change to the Bioware forums as most did. I only 'lost' my avatar in the change, and the new forums had that cool customizable background, which i liked. Around with that forum change came intermittent phases with much free time for me (or rather - too much neglecting of my degree course), so I lurked more, also posted more. Primarily remember some interesting debates between themikefest, capn233, Cap'n gown, MegaIllusiveMan, and a few others. And a waayy, waaayyy too long running argument between mostly Iakus and gothpunkboy89 about the merits and implications (or lack thereof) of the ME3 ending. Also the legendary VorchaMasterRace, the illusive GigaVorcha mp character and other awesome nonsense. And finally the damn amazing first round of ME3 pluck&play/dlc mods, such as AVPen's bonus power pack and Mr.Fob (isn't he also registered here?) mehem. And now i'm here, still mostly lurking in the shadows.

I joined the BioWare Social Network (under a different name) when ME3 released. I stayed on for a year or two before moving on to another, now defunct, forum that spawned in the wake of the Ending Controversy.
I only discovered this place last year.

I joined The BioWare Forum (2013-10/2016) right after I had finished ME trilogy about february 2016 because I found out Bioware was making a sequel and I thought I could find some news about it from the forums. How wrong I was Joined this forum right in the beginning. I found my gaming people from this forum and I admit I love it here

I found BSN soon after DAI's launch and lurked there until my joining a few months later, March 2015 iirc. And I joined because of... a guide. There used to be guide for Sera's caches and the one in Emprise du Lion was listed incorrectly, plus Emerald Graves - while author knew it was there - didn't know right directions. So I joined to share what I know and stayed. As for our new home, I joined on the first day. No way I was going to miss this ship

I've been here almost since the beginning. That's 2009. So it's almost been a decade since I've started posting here. I remember when I first saw the trailers for Dragon Age: Origins. Man, they got me hyped. Even the stupid rock music trailer got me hyped.

Man, they got me hyped. Even the stupid rock music trailer got me hyped. I'd never seen a trailer like this when it dropped... I think I liked Loghain almost from the beginning. I was actually hoping that you could spare his life in the end. Not only did I find out that you could do that, but it turns out that you could also recruit him. I thought that was great as I personally didn't like Alistair. I was one of the people always defending Loghain. Well, that didn't necessarily mean that I thought that Loghain's actions weren't wrong, but I tried to make people understand that he was a morally grey villain, better than most Dragon Age villains. The only other good Dragon Age villain was the Arishok. Too bad you couldn't recruit him into your party...

I honestly could not bring myself to have Loghain sacrifice himself, even if it was implied that he might come back. So I had Hawke do it instead. It was a hard choice, but I really want to see Loghain eventually become the Grey Warden Commander or something. His redemption journey would be complete.

Honestly, I just think that Loghain is too interesting of a character to die. I'm honestly hoping that him and Alistair meet again. I would like to see both of their reactions to seeing each other again. Man, I really hope that Dragon Age 4 gets made. Make it an isometric RPG even. Have somebody else do it if that's what it takes.
