The only cyberpunk thing in that trailer was the name. The atmosphere was to bright and everything was too clean, as i say somewhere else it looked more like a futuristic gta mod than a gritty futuristic dystopia. Also this talk about Anthem not feeling alive is kind of a joke, Considering how alive that forest world was with all the animals, the rivers and lakes systems, the trees moving with the wind etc. Everything was moving. How that doesn't feel alive?
OK, put another way. I did not fall asleep watching CP2077.

Oh my god so much this !
I wanted to write the exact same thing, where is the urban deterioration? The pile of trash at the angle of the roads? The overdosed junkies in the alleys? The crude cybernetic agumentation?
Everything seemed so clean,so polished, so aseptic. The car was cool though
I think the trailer is just trying to sell the "a city of dreams" tag instead of the "worst place to live in America" tag. You actually see an overdosed junkie being helped by Trauma Medics, you can see trash/objects laying around in the corners of some scenes, there is short violence scenes, but most of the trailer seems to try to sell "high life, fun time" in the corporate zone instead of the "sky high level of violence and more people under the poverty line than anywhere else" that is the standard in most of the city. Come on this should be one of the "poor" district of the city
check this scene from blade runner instead
You immediately see the difference in tone and the atmosphere between the 2 images.
And again cyberpunk as genre describe a society in utter chaos, without moral, direction or a sense of right and wrong this image
Looks like it describe it ? 2 guys crashing on the side of a sidewalk? Or it's better this one?
As far as cyberpunk goes this
is the most cyberpunky thing that's in the trailer the second is the brainhack close to the end but that's it

Cyberpunk is not Bladerunner and I don't think that's the poor district of the city, that looks like a Mallplexer (mini-arcologies) where most of the middle classes lives and they have their own security forces to keep order and workers to clean the place up. The poor district of Cyberpunk is a slum with no security that the police doesn't even go to and I expect that to still exist in 2077, although looking at the subway map, the city layout changed a lot.

Altered Carbon would also be a good example of a cyberpunk dystopia.

Of course is not blade runner just as dragon age is not the lord of the rings but it's same genre and while being each their own story/setting they all share the same "atmosphere" .
That trailer severely lacks in that department
Altered Carbon would also be a good example of a cyberpunk dystopia.
Absolutely .

I'll probably buy it when it comes out because I like RPGs and I kind of liked "The Witcher 3". The trailer for Cyberpunk itself was kind of "eh". If you were hyped for it already, you'll project your "hype-ness" on to it and think its pretty good.

Both Anthem and Cyberpunk are sounding pretty great to me! I do hope that 2077’s combat system is actually fun this time round though, compared to the endless ball ache that was the Witcher series.
