I would love the next Mass Effect game to continue with the exploration and contact themes of MEA. My initial thought of what MEA might be, when we were just starting to get information about it (Taking place in the Andromeda Galaxy, more open world, etc) was that we would be the contact person for interactions with new alien species, and that there might be 5 or more main groups that we could interact with, and those interactions would lead to alliances or war and would change how we could interact with some of the other groups. Our actions would alter our standing with those groups and there wouldn't really need to be a main antagonist race. Instead, just surveying planets, setting up settlements, surviving the environment, and dealing with the effects of our decisions would be the main pull. There could still have been a "Race for the Secret Alien Tech" thread that would be the "main story", but it wouldn't need an entire antagonist race, merely an antagonist character that wanted to use the tech for "evil".
If the next game was similarly open world with more focus on exploration, settlements, survival, and politics, that would be pretty neat.

Would be fine if they toned it down quite a bit until they got a proper handle on things. Maybe restrict it to two or three planets at most. And don't make them so massive. Maybe a happy marriage between the first two games. Make the worlds feel alive with more than enemy camps and patrols.

Would you want the next Mass Effect game to have a theme of exploration? How would you feel if the next game was set either long after the Reaper war or a decade or two before the Shepard trilogy about an exploration mission sanctioned by the Citadel? What would you think if they opened an deactivated Mass relay and then something happened to make the expedition stranded in unknown territory? And how would you feel if they had more than two alien civilizations like the first Mass Effect and also includes civilizations at different stages of development with the choice to effect their advancement in different ways? Would you be like the Protheans and pretend to be Gods? Would you be honest and reveal yourself right away?
I remember if you brought Javik on Priority Thessia he said his species deflected an asteroid strike on Thessia and defended it from the Oravores. Would you want to make decisions with the fate of entire civilizations at stake?
I would suggest that BioWare should let CD Projekt Red do Mass Effect franchise for that to happen.

I still prefer the ME1 exploration style.I mean,MEA had only 6 planets to explore...this is getting kinda boring.Make more planets with a less space to explore. Also, make the planets to look more alien.Even in concept arts they looked way better and felt really alien.

I love the exploration aspect of Mass Effect Andromeda. This disruption with the Messias syndrome was the worst part of the game and wastet alot of development time. Instead they have could written cool complex storys for each outpost with different aspects of societies, economies and personal stories for everyone.
They had tried to wean in DA2. After that, Bioware immediately made a marriage proposal to Messias Storys. But only Dragon Age Origins has worked this way.

I still prefer the ME1 exploration style.I mean,MEA had only 6 planets to explore...this is getting kinda boring.Make more planets with a less space to explore. Also, make the planets to look more alien.Even in concept arts they looked way better and felt really alien. Why does an arbitrary increase in the number of planets (read - load screens) result in arbitrarily less boring exploration? Varied alien terrain can exist on a single planet and would be more realistic... allowing for the climate to transition naturally rather than arbitrarily having an ice planet or a swamp planet etc.
The fact that each planet in ME1 basically had 1 thing about it was what I really disliked about ME1's exploration. Exploration was a shear illusion. You dropped on the planet in the mako and frustratingly drove over different colored mountains on each planet to find 2 or 3 minerals, 2 or three crates (may be described as probes or other space junk), and then shoot some mercs out of a completely cookie-cutter warehouse or mine). ME1's planets did not feel either mysterious or alien to me at all. Antibaar (the planet you use as your namesake) felt a lot like "home" (Canadian north) to me. I just can't understand how people have held onto the notion that changing the planet name and color results in a more meaningful exploration opportunity.
I honestly enjoyed exploring different areas on ME:A's larger planets... driving over the surface and encountering a hidden vault entrance or cave entrance or little settlement or a crash site or even a kett encampment or remnant site was far more intriguing to me than looking for a different colored rock sitting on top of a surface of painted rock of a different color (which is all ME1's minerals were). I do want more of them... but more of them like the six we got in Andromeda please... with even more variations in terrain on the same planet and, if possible, more variation in climate on the same planet. The could also add in some more expansive cities or allow us to freely explore the city-like ruins they showed us (on Havarl and on Khi T'asira for example).
