I don't want to know the Warden's fate. Heck I hope they never canonize their race and gender. Look at what they did with Revan and the Exile from the KOTOR series. I hated that they canonized their genders and we learned their fates. Since I haven't play SWTOR in years, when I play the older games I have my own head canon. But I still hate when companies canonize their main characters. Bethesda knows how to not canonize their main characters. No one knows what really happened to the Nerevarine there was just a rumor in Oblivion. No one knows what happened to the COC or if they really are Sheogorath. No one knows their race and genders also. Hopefully Bethesda will continue this trend with the Last Dragonborn. I know what you mean. WOTC pretty much ruined the Forgotten Realms by canonizing so many game characters in the novels. It's at times like this that I live by the sage advice of Adam Savage of Mythbusters fame: I reject your reality and substitute my own. I spent nearly eighty hours playing the entire Baldur's Gate trilogy the first time through, my own council will I keep in deciding what is canon for my PC The Bard of Candlekeep, Imoen, and Jaheira.

Don't get me started on the canonization of characters from the Forgotten Realms. The Forgotten Realms is one of 2 fantasy worlds I'd like to live in. The Baldur's Gate series was and still is sacred to me. I still play it to this day. Both original and enhanced versions. So yeah I loathe when they canonize characters that people still clearly love and made the company (in this case BioWare), money and put them on the map.

To this day, Jaheira, Khalid, Minsc, Aerie, Viconia, Sarevok, Imoen, and my bard are as 'real' to me as characters from a classic novel. I absolutely hated the novelizations. Jaheira, a druid, freaked out when a spider climbed down her tunic. The Bhaalspawn had to rip her tunic off to stop her freaking out.... and THIS led to their first romantic encounter. Grade school stuff. That's why I wrote my own novels for all three games. (For those of you who don't know her, substitute Morrigan for Jaheira, the reaction is just as improbable).
