It's all hearsay at the moment as far as I am concerned because I don't know how to check/lack the knowledge to, but someone is claiming to have found a ton of Playstation 4 files in the PC Version of No Man's Sky >.>

Wouldn't surprise me. The game was built solely with the PS4 in mind. Only later was it decided that they would also bring it to PC.

This game's hype train passed me so completely that I didn't even feel the wind. Though I can't help but notice TotalBiscuit's most recent tweets about the PC version... "This is Arkham Knight levels of bad." Ouch. Hopefully everyone who bought it on PC will get a fix quickly. Yah, I stopped listening to the guy when he absolutely refused to go into an ini file and change 720 to 1080. He could. He just refused. I mean, it was THPS:HD, but still. Give it some effort, you freakin' d-bag.

It automatically runs at 1080 for me.
What is bad is the strange lag I get. It's not my computer. I think it's online related.

I guess it isn't lag, but framerate issues...which are common according to him.
But I'm running 1080... unless I'm missing something and it's only telling me it's 1080

I think people forget that this is an indie game. People are treating it like the $60 release it is. For an indie game that's a hell of a sticker price.

The most indie thing about it is just the presentation. I hate the way some indie games intro their games.. like they don't even have menus. This is one of them. Like it's trying to be more "experience" than game or something.

I think people forget that this is an indie game. Yes. it's an indie game, with a AAA price tag, AAA marketing, AAA graphics, AAA scope, and a AAA hype train....

I think it's well polished, aside from this framerate issue. I'm just not all that sold on the basic gameplay.. but it's done well.

But what is this game about? Minecraft in space? I'm asking because I watched a couple of gameplays and I don't see the appealing. Its supposed to be about exploring and cataloguing/survival in a strange land x 500 million planets. There is a mystery at the centre of the galaxy. But its a mystery.

For anybody wondering what the "end game" reveal at the center of the galaxy is: You start over (keeping your upgrades) with a broken ship on a planet at the edge of a new galaxy. Edited to add my brief opinion on this game after playing it for a couple days now: Ocean wide, puddle deep. No matter how complex the algorithm is, planets and creatures still end up feeling samey and the whole game is a grind-fest. I love exploration games. I love Minecraft, but the fact that they focused more on quantity of explorable area over quality of features (story, player interactivity, customization, combat) makes this game get tedious pretty fast.

Hmm... a lot of buyers on GOG Galaxy are complaining about framerate issues. Lol... It's like those old Atari games where there was no ending.

If it was minecraft in space, I'd be enjoying it more. Maybe with time, it'll offer something that allows more creation. But right now, it's exploration and grinding.

I think people forget that this is an indie game. But they are selling it at a Triple A price, considering the amount people have to pay to get the game and the Peter Molyneux level of promises the company made the players should at least get a playable experience. Right now the developer seems to be back peddling on a number of promised features (that many people purchased the game to specifically use) and the features are absent from the game but the developer is just dismissing the questions with non answers (multi player aspect right now)

I have to agree on that. 60 dolars seems a bit to much for a game without story. Hence why i will only buy when on promotion (if i buy).... Fallout 4 is keeping me busy.

Wow. A lot of butthurt over this game in this thread. I had to start my game over because of a glitch, and I'm not even this butthurt! I know what to farm and when, what to look for, and it's still a whole new experience. Bottom line: you're not going to convince those who are enjoying it why it sucks.

I finished downloading it at around 8 or 9pm last night and played all night. I really hated my starting planet. The color scheme was so hard on my eyes with magenta being the planet's main color. Anyways I got my ship repaired and went into space, but had to take a break because of my headache from the planet's obnoxious colors. I ended up jumping to a system off the 'galactic path' and found a garden world that I spent all night (like 12am to 6am) exploring and 100%ing.
So far I don't think it is worth $60 and I adore space games. The PC Port is really bad, but changing a few things from true to false in the binaries will improve performance a ton. Honestly this is probably a worse port than Dark Souls 1. My younger cousin is playing it right now and she is all giddy from running around and feeding animals. I dunno I think with 2 or 3 QoL patches over the next few weeks and a major content patch 4 to 5 months from now the game will be pretty solid, but right now it feels like an early access game at least on PC.

I don't like the game. The universe feels little to me. I'm too aware of what's happening variables-wise, so I'm not really surprised by flora & fauna. For many (technical and artistic) reasons, I can't feel the vastness of space.
That's not how an infinite universe is supposed to feel.
On top of that, I'm sick to death of open worlds. And it's an open universe. I'm sick to death of picking rocks and flowers on the side of a main story (Fallout 4, MGSV, DA:I, TW3), and picking flowers and rocks is the main attraction of the game. Definitely a disappointment, I expected more.
