Fries is the only thing I use it sometimes with. But I find it increasingly on sandwiches, and stuff inna bun to take away. Where in the past they'd use butter, I see butter replaced with mayo.
Cheese bun: Mayo Ham sandwich: Mayo Lecker Frikadelle im BrΓΆtchen: Mayo
etc.
And like another poster states - you can't opt out when they use it just like butter. Gross? Yes. Yes it is.
I repeat the question: what good food? I can eat American style egg sandwich with mayo. But sandwiches in general are awful and I only eat them when I'm really hungry and there's nothing else around. Now baguette, that's a different story. I load all kinds of stuff on them until I can barely open my mouth wide enough to eat them.

Edit: I realised that my post was completely off-topic, so I put in the spoiler tags .......I tried variants in several other European countries. Awful. Just awful. Either the consistency of a springy sponge or hard as bricks, Yeah, exactly that, the brown bread I get here has the consistency and even looks of moist cardboard. Not something I consider fit to eat. Are we talking about RYE bread or just brown bread in general? The best rye bread is this (Vaasan Ruispalat Ohut herkku if you want to google it):

Brown bread. No thank you, I'd rather eat slices of asbestos. Similar taste anyway. That's because they can't bake good brown bread anywhere outside of Germany Austria here, and I disagree. The brown bread variants I can get here are wonderfully fluffy on the inside and with a crisp crust on the outside. Exactly how they're supposed to be. (Not talking about supermarket bread obviously, I mean real bakeries). Sometimes all I need is a fresh slice of brown bread with butter, salt and watercress for dinner.
The best bread I had was from France though - the French and their boulangeries just can't be beat by anything I have encountered just yet.

There really isn't much that don't like. Even things I "don't like" I end up being into if they're prepared in the right way.
I've ultimately never been able to find any love for bananas or cooked carrots. The combination of the taste and texture is something I can't handle.

Add me to the list of mayo haters. Bacon and hot dogs are gross on their own and overpower the flavor of anything you add them to. And never, ever allow your child to talk you into buying a can of octopus. The smell alone will never leave you and the taste is...let's just say there isn't enough Tobasco on the world to hide it.

All right. Austria is so similar that I did not think to exclude it. Should've said "German-speaking countries" since we all share a very similar bread culture. Sorry. But did you really get good brown bread in France? When I was there, it was almost impossible to get any at all. It's been a while though. Maybe things changed.

Oh yeah, you're totally right about the bread culture, and I can see what you meant now. Sorry, I just needed people to know that we know our breads as well. (Not me in particular, I once tried to bake bread and it did not end all too well. ^^)
Yes, there definitely was nice brown bread in France. Admittedly, they are certainly specialized in baguettes of all sorts, but the bakery close to my flat had a really nice variety of multi-grain and plain brown bread. To be completely honest, the bakeries are the only thing I really miss from the entire time I spent there (one semester to study). The bakeries and the confectionaries with their eclairs and madeleines and macarons ... *drools*

The funny thing about this thread is that I was immediatly thinking: "Finally a place for Beerfish to state his flaming hate of kale and for Pounce de LeΓ³n to mention how much he hates mayo." Both guys didn't fail to deliver!
As for me, I am not a really picky eater, so even if I say I don't like stuff, I might even tolerate eating a bit of it. But here's the things I usually stay away from: - Sauerkraut:
- Intestines, especially liver:
- Liquorice:
[/b][li] Nutella:[/li] It's so sweet it hurts my teeth, it's smudgy, fatty and extremely overpriced.[li] Mussels / clams / oysters:[/li] No, just no. I can't stand the fact that you just consume the whole entire squishy part - no no no, don't wanna think about it. [/ul] [/quote]Fairly accurate assessment of the bolded ones....i still like licorice though.

There was a certain kind of mushroom (no, not THAT kind - keep reading) that I once tried to eat at my high school cafeteria in the mistaken impression that it was a chicken nugget. It wasn't even that it tasted bad, but the slimy texture of its internal contents was so unpleasant that for the rest of the afternoon, just thinking about it would bring me to the verge of vomiting. I've studiously avoided mushrooms ever since.
(Though when I was 12, I somehow - probably because of something to do with Super Mario Brothers - came up with this concept of "The Curse of the Exploding Mushroom" and used to annoy my teachers and classmates by drawing exploding mushrooms on the board in between classes all the time.)

It's also an opportunity for me to quote from the movie Clue, something I am rarely able to pass up: "And monkey's brains, though popular in Cantonese cuisine, are not often to be found in Washington D.C.!"

They usually aren't slimy. I began liking them when I tried them fried on an electro grill. Simple champignons mostly for me.
I'm not a friend of slimy stuff neither. I should mention e.g. mayo - since it is terribly slimy and super greasy as well.

Mayo. Fat shit that totally ruins the taste of the good food it gets put on. - Intestines, especially liver:
- Liquorice:
Cool, all my typical "run-away-now" foods have already been covered in this thread, so now I know itΒ΄s not just me - thank you for that . I have only one addition to that list - the most disgusting thing I have ever been served myself is "stinky tofu", which is a type of fermented tofu served in China that smells like a garbage dump combined with a terminal case of bad breath .

I love most of the foods that were mentioned here except for worms. Not a huge fan of Hershey's as I always thought they smelled weird and I like my chocolate smelling nice.
I hate pretzels though. Too salty. And the only fruit I hate is Papayas as they literally taste like fruity vomit.
Also there is such a thing as TOO.MUCH.CHEESE. I love cheese but sometimes people drown em in that shit. Lemme taste the food dammit.
