Personally, I would love a sequel to Andromeda with Ryder to follow up on what the first game built on. Barring that I honestly think a prequel game of some kind would be interesting whether it was playing as Anderson during his prime, First Contact War, Krogan Rebellions, Rachni War, etc. Anything that deals with events we know about will be iffy. That's why I've proposed a story in the height of the Prothean Empire. Problem with that is some might not like not playing as a human. Not necessarily a problem. Something practically human could be played. We know that the Protheans conquered other races and but them all under the banner of "Prothean".
I do agree on the prequels idea and would prefer not to cover it.

Because fleshing out to many details in a major past event could mess with the lore or that Bioware could risk contradicting themselves? I do agree on the nonhuman part, but then again it does seem like there is a group of people (albeit smaller) would prefer to play as a non-human (or at least have the option) whether it be Mass Effect or Dragon Age.

Iffy because yes they could contradict but most of those wouldn't be very interesting. With the exception of the Krogan rebellions.

Tbh, I'd find First Contact War to be on the boring side. I believe humanity was going to lose (which they should, given that humanity had barely left Earth) until the Council intervened. I don't know, none of these seem worth bothering with. Krogan uplifted by salarians to fight rachni, krogan go the expansionist route, krogan throw teensy, tiny little rocks at the turians, the salarians realize they fucked up and create the genophage (which the turians used when the salarians became doubtful). Maybe it could work as a large DLC as some ancient krogan is reminiscing but not a whole game about it. Sure, there could be various races, but "humans are special" so they're the only ones who could unite an entire galaxy.

I want the best team possible on the next Mass Effect. It doesn't really matter where it's set as long as the story is good and meaningful. No more boring, predictable, and empty worlds that serve as nothing more than window dressing. No more Disney prince protagonists. And bring back Paragon/Renegade, if four shades of yes/paragon is the best that they can do as an alternative. Ryder is hot garbage and I do not understand the appeal of the character in the context of the Mass Effect series.

There are plenty that enjoyed it. Problem is the loudest group is those who bitch and moan. Those who enjoy something are busy enjoying it.

I honestly have absolutely no interest in prequels but I wind eyes how many people do
Let shepard’s Story end it’s over.
Andromeda 2 with Ryder. Way too much potential and many places to go. Bioware needs to prove they can fix issues instead of running away (again) and it wouldn’t even be that hard with their resources. Just focus on it and take some time, in the mess of Andromeda there is a lot of really good stuff to work with.
But it won’t ever happen, we aren’t getting MEA2 especially not with Ryder

But it won’t ever happen, we aren’t getting MEA2 especially not with Ryder I feel the same. It wouldn't even be hard to put a more experienced team on the game and make sure most of the bugs are fixed before launch. We know every game has bugs at launch but the ones in MEA happened to make for great, enduring memes.
If we don't get more Ryder, I will be very disappointed. As you said, showing they can make a great game built on what we already have would prove to fans that they can do it "right". Admittedly, I'm a fan of MEA. I don't think the issues people had with MEA amount to much after the patches. As for Ryder, that's just a case of "but he's not Shepard" syndrome. No shit. That was the point.

I enjoyed Andromeda and I don't think we will ever capture 2010 again. Its like people who want a band late in their career to release an album that brings back the sounds and feelings of an early album. The gaming landscape has changed. I would say even the units sold for the OT would be considered disappointing by today's standards. I can see it now: join online with friends! Pick your planet! You've selected... Eos! Bitchin'! Build your base! Defend it from other players! Be big goddamn heroes! Get Mass Effect Kontrol Freek thumbsticks! Guaranteed to increase k/d ratio by 20 percent! And don't forget your Mass effect Monster energy drink, tastes like Krogan piss aww yeah! See that's an example of how the landscape has changed. I think going beyond the gaming landscape, I think social media would have been rough on the game as well. And it's well deserved.

Practically just finished MET and have only just started MEA, so I am partial towards the OT atm.
Coming into ME from DA, I am used to not playing as the same character between games. However, I always greatly enjoyed the references to my previous heroes and their decisions. It doesn’t have to be exaggerated, but I’d just like a mention or two that reflects the Legend my Shepard has become. Just enough of a hint that it feels like it’s set in the same universe as my Shepard, and not just a generic default. I just want something that’s more personal than “him/her”.
Haven’t played enough of MEA to have a proper opinion of Ryder yet. However, I do kind off miss the maturity of Shepard. Having just played all three DA games before ME1, it was nice for once to not have to play someone who didn’t want/knew how to be in charge. Though I’ll admit that it took some getting used to at first. On the other hand, depending on how they handle Ryder, it leaves room for (hopefully player defined) growth.

I know the logical arguments against it, but given the choice, ME3 sequel with Shepherd & co.
Failing that I just wish they'd go back and remake the OT - tech is already far beyond what was in use at the time the original games were made. They'd probably even be able to do justice to Priority: Earth this time around...

I can see people being interested in continuing Shepard and their story, but I don't understand going back to retell the same story again. Unlike a game like Tomb Raider the draw is the story and I don't see a lot of areas where they can change the story without completely abandoning the story and lore to create something new I don't see benefits of going down the reboot route.

People don't want to believe it, but there will be constant comparisons to the OT. However bad anyone thinks the OT is, I promise you that any reboot will be worse. Plus, we'll get required MP and loot boxes rather than finding armor (like in ME1).

The main problem with a reboot/remake is that they kind of have to commit to making all three games. If the first one flops, I wouldn’t be surprised if they opt for not making the others at all.

I want this to happen, and I literally just finished playing the games for the first time a couple of days ago. I'm just saying that it'll be really hard to sell the idea to the people with the money. Especially if they want them focusing on other IP's.

The main problem with a reboot/remake is that they kind of have to commit to making all three games. If the first one flops, I wouldn’t be surprised if they opt for not making the others at all. But it will be worth it on the long run as long as it is done right. From what I have seen around here is there are many different versions of "done right" and I believe that it would require pretty much making the game from square 1 so its going to need millions in sales just to cover the cost of Mass Effect 1. Throw in the "I don't buy remakes or I already own the game" type of people, I personally fall into the later so there will be lost sales just because of that. So somehow they have to try and make all the different versions of "done right" happy combined with people like me with the attitude of "why do i need this" I just see it being an even bigger risk that what you describe for even if it is done well it could still easily crash and burn.
