I hope we learn more about the dwarves. We really need to go to Kal-Sharok and learn more about the Sha-Brytol. And who knows what more stuff is hidden away in the Deep Roads?

On the one hand I agree and would love to know more, on the other I can't bear the thought of more Deep Roads. I'd love just one game without Darkspawn.

(They're often my favourite sections in each DA game, because the environments are so unique)

I like them, too...
Actually, I've always thought that most people's problems with those areas, particularly in DAO, is that they feel trapped. Of course, you literally are in the Circle mission, but can leave the Deep Roads any time (but it feels confining).

Okay, I want to play a dwarf again, but I do not know. I may stick with human rogue, unless someone here can justify a dwarf inquisitor.
dwarves are cool, it is just I do not know if I should mess with world state just to have a dwarf inquisitor.

Well, we don't need a retread of A Paragon of Her Kind or The Deep Roads Expedition or Descent, but I like the idea of mysterious, secret places hidden underground. How about using the Deep Roads as an alternative means to navigate areas, particularly ones with Dwarven ruins?
For instance, if you wanted to fight the Dragon on the island off of the Storm Coast, but didn't want to wait for the mission allowing you to attack the Red Templar base, which is the only means to get the boat, what if instead you could do an operation to clear the caved-in entrance nearby?
That would then allow you access to a section of the Deep Roads that runs under the sea, that comes out via the entrance on the island, right on top of the dragon. Then after you've explored that area and fought the dragon, you get a mission to seal that entrance again to prevent the Darkspawn from using it.
Something like that might be a tall order though, but at the very least, I'd love to discover and explore more thaigs like Valammar, the thaig under the lake in Crestwood and the Dwarven port on the Storm Coast.
Or why not treat Thaigs or the Deep Roads similar to the Dragon fights in DAI. They aren't required for any story reason and the main quest can be completed without ever stepping foot inside them, it's only for those who want to explore or challenge themselves with dangerous bosses and obstacles (puzzles, traps, etc) that must be overcome, before you are rewarded with sweet loot at the end.
As much as the Gauntlet Bridge infuriated me in Origins, it would be fun to see more challenging puzzles return, rather than "Collect X item to proceed" we've gotten lately. Surely there's a middle ground between completely easy and everything is locked with Alien Sudoku as it was in MEA.
(Yes, I know there were Remnant keys you could buy, but what's the bloody point of even having the puzzle then?)

Hello all,
Started a new Origins run of a Dwarf noble. Decided to RP him as a spoiled nobleman who butted heads with Trian, wanted glory and believed the throne should fall to him. I'm also basing him on Thor's story arc from his first movie. He gets exiled and has to learn humility and this new world he finds himself in, with meeting new people, and making friends and trying to save this country and these humans from the Blight.
It's going well, and it's been fun, I've just reached Ostagar.

DA2 focused a lot on mages and Qunari. DAI focused on elves and Andrastianism.
I hope the dwarves' turn is coming soon.

All the more reason for a dwarf

All the more reason for a dwarf I do not like changing world states just to appease my desire for a dwarf run. Unless there is a proper justification for changing to a dwarf inquisitor and elf warden, then I will probably stick with human rogue, just because the other characters are humans of different classes. I mean, I love dwarves in general, but I just do not know if I should mess around in the world state to have a Dwarf for inquisition. Then, there is the warrior vs rogue, since Inquisition Dwarves feel better as a rogue due to being in the carta, but elf does not really fit as a warrior race in general (outside of origins where warriors can wear all armors and wield all weapons (besides staves).

I think the confusion is because people aren't understanding why you have to change your DAO/2 world state to play a dwarf Inquisitor in DAI.

I mean, I decided that if I have one character that is a different race, they all have to be. If not, they are all human, because Hawke is human. Simple to me, I guess. Just does not feel right if the Warden is a human noble warrior, but the Inquisitor is a dwarf rogue.

You can have whatever reasons you want. The point is about engaging in conversation. You post a thing, then a person replies, but you respond to the contrary. The person who wrote the original reply doesn't know your reasons.

Few thoughts
Elves-elven tattoos were designed based on god affiliation. Any chance dwarf tattoo are related to titans?
Any rogue daggers more suited for an ex-carta member ? Same with best coloring materials for the carta armor

Any rogue daggers more suited for an ex-carta member ? Same with best coloring materials for the carta armor Carta seems to use red from my observation. I think blue might work as well. Just avoid green, as that tends to be more elfy. For daggers, a dwarfy model I like is this one -- dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Wyvern_Tooth (blade + grip combo) This blade model is also nice -- dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/StilettoAnd of course there is the dwarfy model from Descent -- dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Stone_Stalker_Blade (If you can't mod, you'll have to live with that fucked up grip appearance.) This is a fun rusty dual-blade model -- dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Carta_TalonsReally, though, unless there is some model that you absolutely love, or absolutely can't stand, I think most of the daggers in the game are more or less neutral in styling and design (despite whatever name they carry), so you can use anything. And as usual, modding helps a great deal with this sort of roleplay, if that's possible for you.

I started a dwarf noble run today and I'm playing as a tradition believing type.
Thing is, I had her participate in the provings and give the crown to Frandlin Ivo.
Isn't that spitting in the face of tradition, since the provings' result is supposed to be a sign of the ancestors' favor? Maybe I should start over.

It's like the paragon giving the crown to the Warden to decide on whomever. The paragon is giving the Warden their favor to do as she/he wills. In your case, the ancestors are giving your Aeducan their favor to do as she wills, which means giving her favor to Ivo.

I don't think so; if it happened on the Proving grounds then it must have been the ancestors' favor, right? In that case Aeducan was "meant" to give the crown to Frandlin. edit: ninja'd 😜

My dwarf noble's character arc is that she lacks empathy not only for the casteless, but for poor people in general.
And somewhere down the road, she will change. But I'm not sure what can I use as the reason why she would rethink her ways.

But I'm not sure what can I use as the reason why she would rethink her ways. Being helpless and powerless in a situation like the Warden finds herself in would do that for most people.
For Adeucan specifically, while she might feel indignant rage at being falsely accused of Trian's death, she still suffers a life-altering change. She goes from being literally on top of the rest of the plebes (consider the diamond quarter), with shiny armor and weapons and a devoted second, to a dirty cell, and then fighting her way through the Deep Roads with whatever she can find. After that, she's recruited into the Wardens as a matter of survival and has nothing: no money, no property, no status, with a future that possibly leads to death. It's a huge come down for a noble like Aeducan or Cousland.
