Sounds like guaranteed nerfing to me. Make your current weapons useless to "encourage" you to play for better gear. Ad infinitum, or until they get bored with it. How to drive away players and influence people. As that's what'll do eventually drive players away out of sheer boredom. First few times it happens might be okay but after that? Doubtful, unless you're really hard core.

Yep, I was referring to the above when I made my comment up post.
One needs to break down the corp / marketing speak. On solo play, just as you may have figured out a winning tactic against a foe, oooops.. the environment changes which may put you back at the beginning and you must start all over again. So, long term engagement is to keep the player from getting too cozy, hm..? Path of Glory is nothing more than what we already have with MEAMP. ... and the amount of currency is laughable for the effort you put in. I guess some will like the ever changing world... except for weapons/gear nerfing by changing your foe rather than your gear. "relationship with your equipment"? The suit may be the only item that will be dear to the player.
One immediate difficulty I see for me is that my playing frequency with any game is spotty at best. Three-six months can go by before I play again. This game seems to put me at a disadvantage.
However, I'm willing to wait until more info is forthcoming.

From Brenon Holmes on Reddit: Just as a note, currently in the game, heat builds faster the steeper your climb. It builds a lot slower (and might even go down a bit - can't recall the exact tuning atm) if you dive. You can duck through waterfalls, or into pools of water to reset heat, and currently you can also skim the surface of water to reduce your heat burn. Mechanics like these allow more experienced players to extend their flight times longer than someone new to the game 😊. There will be dedicated servers for Anthem, and there are 4 players/server. [Source] [Source]
This can't be right. Do you know the number of server needed to host 20K players? = 5,000. Add dedicated servers on top of that. Maintaining 5K servers is not cheap. Plus the software licenses are also not cheap.
Edit: Unless a gamer's PC is a dedicated server.

Hmm, good point as 'playing with your friends' would be hard as you and 'your friends' would have to be on the same server and the chances of that happening each time you play are pretty much nill...

An instance of an application being essentially one one running version of it. If we’re defining a server as the big piece of machinery used to house the program, they can have more than one instance on one of those I suppose. Depends on how we’re using the word server.

No trouble with that. SWTOR has servers housing thousand of players doing differents instances of flashpoints and operations in groups of 1-2-4-8-16.

I wonder what the Legion of Dawn weapons/gear are and are they worth it? I mean are they worth having?
You cannot earn the Legion of Dawn items. [Source]
Whether you will have access to the Legion of Dawn items at the very start of the game is still being determined. But very likely at the same time they are unlocked. [Source]
There are similar weapons to the Legion of Dawn weapons in the world, they are not overpowered. [Source]

What is an instance in this case?
Instance means simulation state and persistence data. Also, "server" does not equal "hardware". You can run 10 servers on 1 CPU card in one slice of a rack, 4 virtual cores per server instance, 2 virtual cores per real core (up to 22 real cores on 1 CPU). Two cards per slice, 20 slices in a rack, that's 4x10x2x20 = 1600 players in a single rack.

I have only a vague awareness of such things beyond server=\=hardware.

Here's a thought: If they claim that at the endgame, the world is unfinished (so they can hold weekly events and change the world as they please) how easy/difficult will it be to have a satisfying ending for each player? I.e. I realise that impact is only reflected in fort tarsis, but - if going for a meaningful story - wouldn't impactful story events sort of break the immersion between the 2 worlds of tarsis and the outside world?

It's a good question and we simply don't have enough information as yet, which is concerning. It will be even more of a worry if when the Anthem advertising machine gets into high gear and they still say little about the story. This game is making me more and more skeptical the more I learn about it.

Well, it depends what ''satisfying ending' means for you. Do you mean saving the whole world somehow? Do you mean taking control over creation process? Do you mean gods returning? If you mean that, then probably not - they have to keep the ball rolling story-wise. Or perhaps do you mean saving Ford Tarsis? Pushing out Dominion? Or uncovering at least some big secrets of the ancient technology left behind or reasons why the world was left unfinished?

They've already said that you are not "the chosen one" and you are not single-handedly saving the world from some menace. Your story is a personal story of overcoming some obstacle or threat, but the world goes on being shaped and fought over.
