I know this thread is for the remake, a game I will get when the price lowers, but I was looking at getting RE6, since its on sale. Is it worth getting? From my experiences, no. It relies a lot on quick time events (I could tolerate these in RE4 but they just become tiresome in RE6), checkpoints only work half the time (If you die, they work, but if you get off and get back on they don't work), a lot of "run away or die sequences" some of which would be fine if the camera wasn't so god damn awful, it's primarily third person, but there are times where it wrestles control away from the player trying to go for a more "cinematic" angle or even try to evoke classic RE games. It also sucks as a character drama since characters do really contradictory stuff for the sake of MELODRAMAAAAA.EDIT: The one good thing I can say about it is that the ally AI is actually decent. (If you do decide to buy it, avoid the lone wolf perk, it prevents your AI side kick from reviving you if you're down) I agree...i played through RE6 once and i tried to play it again and couldn't be bothered.... .....Leon's section in the beginning started off strong, but quickly descended into more action bulls**t clusterf**ks...and the camera was wonky at times which ended up with characters rolling on the ground and shooting from that position?.....i just didn't like how the controls were in that game and then Chris's section with those flying enemies with machine guns and those shielded enemies with bullets flying all over the place?....agggh...that game was annoying and not fun to play.... ...you're even fighting monsters as big as godzilla... .....just bad....the story completely got away from the writers in 6....and the story of RE in general was never great anyway, but it was really grade F material in 6....

and the story of RE in general was never great anyway, but it was really grade F material in 6.... Well, the first game was written in a different age of computer games, when stories were generally much simpler. Even so, I remember it as being quite original. I wasn't aware of any zombie stories before RE where the cause was an engineered bioweapon. Maybe there were, but I wasn't aware of them. There was Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, etc. And not really a lot else of good zombie fiction. We're so used to that idea now, it doesn't even seem like a thing. But playing the original for the first time, where you're wandering round an old mansion full of the undead and bizarre puzzles, reading journals to learn about umbrella and the lab was really great. Of course the voice acting was hilarious even at the time. Even though RE was superior in almost every way, neither it nor any of the sequels could recreate the gradual reveal in the original. Fortunately, I didn't know the game was released as Biohazard in Japan. Using a more technical title kind of gives it away a bit.

Fortunately, I didn't know the game was released as Biohazard in Japan. Using a more technical title kind of gives it away a bit. Yup...when the game first dropped, RE was an amazing game. I was actually waiting for a true horror game like that...it wasn't until the power of the great psx/Dreamcast until these games could be fully realized. Before that i played the awful Haunted House on the atari 2600....and a decent game called "project Firestart" on the commodore 128.... ..(yeah i'm a bit of an old head)...RE spawned the way for the great Silent Hill games.....The original SH games 1-4 are classics, but the games that came out afterwards...Homecoming, Downpour and that other game was mediorce... I also like "The Evil Within" series.....both games are a dive into disturbing physiological horror with fantastic atmosphere and disturbing imagery....The Evil Within 2 was even better than the first....and for it to be open world, they still kept the horror and suspense high....The 2nd game didn't sell that well which is unfortunate because it was better than the first game in every way. This series looked to have gotten their groove back by returning this series to it's roots, before this game dropped ReMake was my favorite RE game followed closely by the original RE2....i still think the original did a couple of things better than the Remake2 but i think overall the RE2-Remake is still the superior and better product....visuals are solid and zombies are a true threat....

You are both correct. Right now the classic outfits are being tagged as a pre-order bonus, but that normally becomes a paid DLC sometime after release. Its current release date is April 1st 3rd, 2020.
I had a lot of fun with the Resident Evil 2 remake and go back to it every now and then so I am probably going to get this one as well. I am hoping Code: Veronica is the next one on the list since Resident Evil has been remade already and then ported to multiple platforms and Resident Evil 4 still holds up well.

I'm looking forward to play RE3make. Jill is my favorite Resident Evil character and I'm so happy to play wihh her again after so many years benching her. But I'm still curious about her post-RE5 fate because she still has to appear past 2010's
I'm glad Jill has a more reasonable outfit this time when you consider her original outfit from RE3 .

That's cool. 2 was pretty good IMO, as a newbie that never played a RE before, definitely up for another RE remake. It's releasing on April 3rd? That's my birthday, kinda cool. Would be cooler if I got it as a gift also Which we all know it's not gonna happen

I'm looking forward to the new RE3 Remake....Capcom fooled alot of folks with that "Project Resistance" making folks believe it was a stand alone title (which i wasn't going to get if they went that route)..but i'm glad to hear that it will be part of the RE3 package....that said, a slew of new Jill mods for the current RE2-Remake has been popping up and i just happened to see this particular mod on youtube...and i gotta say...this is one fine looking Jill model....it even gives the current RE3 model a run for her money...might even possibly dare i say a tad better?....
You pc master race folks will have a great time with this....i only have the PS4, so i can't get none of these great mods....i've seen a few that are a bit over the top in terms of ass and tit-tays, but this model's face is on point...i'd use this mod all the time if i was able to download it on the PS4....

Yeah, I looked at a few of the mods for Resident Evil 2 Remake, but too many of them felt like a porn-parody then something I would use. Some of these new Jill ones seem like it might be a reason to revisit Resident Evil 2 again.

They gave Nemesis a flamethrower, and it looks like he uses his tentacles to travel around like Spider-Man. The Hunters are in while the Drain Deimos, and the spiders are still MIA.

I was initially a bit skeptical on Nemesis design, but seeing him here in action, he looks to be 10 times more terrorizing and brutal than Mr. X.... ...as he should be. Jill and Carlos look great here and the visuals are stunning. The video captures Jill and the supporting cast struggling against the chaos as they actually should be....i love that direction as it keeps the series more grounded and organic. I hope they never go back to that super-hero fearless crap that later games incorporated....even in later games where they are kinda used to seeing these things, nobody should ever stare these things down and say "bring it on" or "lets do this"....even seasoned vets should approach these monsters cautiously and with a respectable amount of fear for these creatures....at least i hope that's the approach for the next game in terms of RE8.....tho after this, i wouldn't mind seeing a Dino Crisis...Remake....

The post Code Veronica games looked like Capcom was trying to emulate Anderson's RE films, and the series lost it's identity in the process until they went back to their roots with Remake 2, and a Dino Crisis remake would be godly. Dino Crisis 2 was a decent action game, and i would like to see a remake for it too while DC3 deserves to be forgotten.

That gameplay looks sick AF. All I know about Nemesis was what my cousins told me way back then when I was a kid He seems like a Mr X of sorts? as in he'll be following you around and making your life impossible (for REAL this time, since Mr X is kind of a joke).
