Would prefer frostbite but Unreal would be the most likely one they would use to give it an upgrade. Which is fine if they can give it a good spit and polish with some bug fixes and FFS fix the shield gate in ME 3.

I like the frostbite engine, there I said it 😉 I think they need to work out the RPG kinks, I look forward to seeing how they've improved the engine for Anthem, even if I don't plan on playing it myself.

It looks good but Unreal is more mod friendly. Frostbite is atrocious for installing mods. Maybe you use a console and don't care but I use a PC and modding games is awesome. The most useful part of mods is fixing bugs BW doesn't.

Just remaster the trilogy using the unreal engine. Using frostbite would be a remake. Better yet, remake MEA on unreal. hahahahahahahaha. Instead of having the asari in the game, put the quarians in the game. I mean why not? All the asari, except for the one with the paint smeared across it's eyes, look the same.

Why would anyone vote for Frostbite engine, and the engine performs very poorly on Andromeda? BioWare is obviously not bright or just plain incompetent.

They did fine with Frostbite, just like when a developer switches to a new console generation the first few games are not very good, but at the end of the generation for they have spent time developing games and finding tricks to make things work it becomes better.

It needs a remake because the story needs a serious makeover. No it doesn't. To you maybe but not most. any actual fact/prove about that? until you don't provide one I won't believe it.

Here it's at worst 50/50 and other places it steers about 70/30. Bit I could post all the evidence in the world and if it doesn't support your opinion you won't believe it.

Off the top of my head, there are a couple reasons I'd choose Frostbite over Unreal. 1. It would give the series a consistent look throughout all of the games. 2. It would have all the assets now in Frostbite thus easily available if they want to use them again.

If you really know how to work the engine, shouldn't you make use of it for a bit longer? Since they made the engine change at the beginning of a console generation, it could be they felt they were going to need to change engine from Unreal 3. Now I don't know a lot about game engines, but they could have looked at the work needed to move to Unreal 4 or switch to Frostbite and it might have been the same. Now with going to Frostbite they might also think they have benefits outside of the engine, such as since all EA studios are using Frostbite now they can have a few extra people from lets say Motive move to BioWare for a couple of weeks to help out an aspect they are running behind on instead of pushing crunch for I remember how near the launch of Andromeda people mocking that EA was moving people from all over to BioWare.

Frostbite is the proprietary engine of EA. And kinda their selling point. Why would they use any other engine when every game they produce uses Frostbite?

That said I don't believe remastering would be financially feasible. I agree and just because remasters sell for other games doesn't mean it would mean it would work for Mass Effect. It would be like saying that some feature works with other games would mean that it would work for any BioWare game. Generally a remaster is used to test the reception a game franchise that has become stagnate with no plans for a new game or its a more recent release and there is a new console generation, but the teases from Casey Hudson makes it seem more likely that we will get a new game in the franchise then an updated version of the older ones. The other thing is I am fairly certain it wouldn't be BioWare remastering the game if they ever decide to do it again. Generally remasters are farmed out to smaller studios that just make sure the port works on the new hardware and if available will use higher resolution textures that already exist.

Any idea how much it would cost to remaster the trilogy? How long would it take to be remastered? Well, it really depends. It could cost just as much as making a new game depending on what they are doing with it because labor is probably the most expensive part. So if it is just a verification pass of development to make sure that the games can use the PC graphical options to run at lets say 1080p it might only take a few months with an outside team. The unfortunate thing is if you look at some of the posts around a remaster people want to have the combat system updated and the same across all the games that would require more QA and re-balancing across all three games since they weren't designed for that type of combat. If I remember correctly the Spyro trilogy when remastered they had to go into the code and redesign elements for modern gaming. There were complaints about the jumping and things like that because they had to go back and design that mechanic from the ground up so it wasn't a direct copy of that code.

I can almost literally play every Assassin's Creed game on PS4. Only the first game and 3 is not available on PS4. And Ubisoft plans to release Assassin's Creed 3 with a few updates for current console in 20019. Assassin's Creed is far from a stagnant series with no plans for a new game.
