I want a Chakwas Romance DLC.
Actually, someone in a DA4 thread said something earlier today in jest (I think it was in jest) that is actually worth some consideration...
Romance is a somewhat divisive thing for the gamers. Many of us old-timers love it, for the cheese factor, the feels, the pr0n. Some people are against it and feel it takes away from more important aspects of the game. Others want their romance to be of a certain flavor - hetero, homo, asexual - and we have seen BioWare valiantly try to represent everyone and get egg on their face for the attempt, sometimes deservedly and others not at all.
So, make all romance options entirely DLC. Make the base game about the base game, and make it well.
End result: no one can complain that their romance wasn't considered. No one has "someone else's" romance shoehorned in their cornhole. The BioWare team can make a list of romanceable chars, a list of sexuality preferences, and maybe even a "M" setting - allowing adults to be more or less pervy, with a maturity setting for dialog/cutscene content. Then the PC can choose their option from each list and get romantic.
It would force the developer into a more narrow narrative path, which isn't necessarily a good thing but also isn't a definite story killer.
Just seeing if anything sticks to the wall.

To be honest I’m fine with them making anything at all ‘romanceable’ in the game as long as it’s legal including the kitchen sink if someone really wants to, it’s all about giving as much people as many options as possible for their gameplay experience.
That said I would never personally want to romance a robot or an AI or something, that’s just weird to me, but you do you.
And no I wouldn’t want to romance a kitchen sink either.

It would force the developer into a more narrow narrative path, which isn't necessarily a good thing but also isn't a definite story killer. Just seeing if anything sticks to the wall. I think I'd support that. My issue with Romances is it seems like they are devoting a disproportionate amount of time to something that takes up all of 5 minutes of game play and story. When there are 8+options some for multiple races/genders and people want cut scenes for all of them it just ends up being way too much developer time. And then people will cry anyways and very loudly and constantly on every thread, forum they have access to. But hey if you want to drop $5 on the X romance option i'm all for it.
Of course this is under the assumption that time gets spent in a valuable way once it is freed up, if its just not used or squandered what the hell keep the romances in I guess. I think they are terrible by and large but if others like them good for them.

AI definitely! After romancing Danse in Fallout 4, it got me thinking how BW missed out on that with Mass Effect.

I think we need romance to get the younger generations who are typically not sci fi fans on board with Mass Effect!
I am fine with romance as long as it is optional and not forced on the player!
Around the time of Andromeda's marketing campaign
They had this song playing on the radio.
Should a future Mass Effect game have an entire trailer dedicated to romance?

That’s actually a interesting thought for me. Is romance in games a bigger draw for a younger generation than it is for my old man generation? There clearly are generational differences is what people like or look for. Is this one of them? Romance has been a thing in BioWare games long enough that it clearly was a interest to gamers of previous generations, but is that increasing in younger generations so that it should be a larger focus instead of a smaller focus that I’d prefer.
