Massive update Been having a lot of fun with ESO lately With FFXIV having a terrible healing system it's been nice playing an actual healer again.

If I sign up for ESO+ do I get all the DLC included? That's the case with SWTOR but I won't waste my money with DLC if I keep having to pay for them even with a subscription.

You get access to all of DLCs save for big yearly expansions called Chapters, so you won't have access to Greymoor after it gets released - everyone has to buy it separately. Keep in mind though that eventually past Chapters become unlockable via ESO+ - I'm not sure whether Elsweyr is unlockable yet (I think that'll happen when Greymoor launches), but paying for Plus unlocks Morrowind and Summerset.

The business model Zenimax appears to be using is for Chapters being 1 year exclusive access to a zone bundled up with with some extra features. After a year, the zone part of the chapter is re-categorised as a DLC which can be bought outright or leased via an ESO+ subscription, and the extra features are sold separately. So yea, you'll get access to northern Elsweyr via ESO+ when Greymoor launches. But the Necromancer class will be a separate purchase. Vvardenfell and the Warden class were split in the same way after the morrowwind chapter had been out for a year.

There's a big sale on right now, for sure on Steam and XBox. We had the base game but did not realize the DLCs were locked to the profile of who paid for them so only hubs had access to anything else. I picked up the base game, Morrowind, Sommerset, and Elsweyr for $15 yesterday.
I quit playing ages ago because I got so attached to my main and her original story. She hit end-game and I found out she'd be shipped off to join another faction if I completed the story. With nowhere else to go, that was it for me! Normally I'm totally alt-oholic but I just couldn't maintain interest in any of my new PCs. Maybe if I hadn't started with a High Elf...

That was my point--I didn't have them and didn't want to pay for them. I'd done all that I had and didn't want to switch factions. At the time, it was only Morrowind which hubs had bought but which didn't unlock for me so we would have had to pay for it twice to play together. Now I'll have more places to go!

Wow the last posts in here were a year ago O.O Blackwood is looking amazing btw. It's probably not only going to be one of the best expansions but it's looking like an amazing introduction for new players also

Wow the last posts in here were a year ago O.O Blackwood is looking amazing btw. It's probably not only going to be one of the best expansions but it's looking like an amazing introduction for new players also I still play ESO, but not regularly and I am not here as often as I was as well... Anyhoo - there are NPC companions coming with the next big update, aside from Blackwood and some other goodies ...No, we won't be able to romance and/or marry them, but it is a system they plan on expanding in the future, heh heh. We will be able to bring them everywhere aside from PVP and SP arenas - so if one lacks a group dungeon or trial buddy or wants to have a better shot at soloing world bosses or some other content, they can spec their companions to be additional DPS, tanks or healer. Anyway, I'm happy for Blackwood, because Oblivion was the first big sRPG for me and also the first TES game, so I expect some nostalgic stuff - but I also expect it to not just be a copy of Oblivion (I liked how they brought dragons to ESO, clearly because they're the most prominent feature of Skyrim, but they have not tried to just blatantly repeat the formula and we got dragons in Elsweyr )

I just started this week and I am loving it so far. It’s been ages since I played Skyrim so it was awesome to be back there (though I traveled to a starter island soon after). Reading and watching some guides to get additional info, still overwhelmed though but that is normal for a mmo I guess (felt the same when I started SWTOR) ... let’s see how I fare... already excited for the Blackwood chapter

There's a ton of content on the web that is helpful to new ESO players, but in case you have a question or two you can ask here and some of us keeping an eye on the thread will likely answer them

God I can't remember the last time I logged into ESO, I got side tracked playing Guild Wars 2, though I haven't logged into that in sages as well and don't ask me about SWTOR. With the amount of changes there's been in ESO by the time I do get back into it I'll have to start over to re learn everything.
