Is the bug of being stuck in the fade after creating character (on PC) still unpatched? It has been time since I played PC version, but that one was pretty annoying. I think that has been patched. I haven't heard anyone complain about it in at least a year. [Flemeth voice] You know how I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I have information you might want to know...[/ Flemeth Voice] I experienced this bug just a few months ago, no more than six, and using the latest patch. For me, it was definitely, for-sure, absolutely tied with the trick of forcing framerate through a variable you place in the shortcut. I found a better ways to handle FPS (through my video card software), but I believe it can also be forced via a config file for Frostbite (no idea if that causes this bug, however). Simple fix: don't use that trick. More complex fix: Have two copies of the shortcut, and only use the "FPS enabled" one after you've finished character creation and are well and truly into the game.

Here's an error I'm having that's keeping me from progessing. When I try to destroy the Qunari structures, I have one that won't blow up. It's right before heading up a ladder to another structure. Destroyed 3 out of 4 but the one won't explode. Are you talking about The Deep Roads section of Trespasser? For the one that won't explode, is it because you can't find/activate the Interact button when you get near it, or you can but it doesn't do anything? I seem to remember one of the gaatlock piles where it was really hard to get the Interact button to show up, but it eventually did if I stood in just exactly the right place.

Better the confirmation than a false sense of security! I'll add it to the OP during the next update.

I seem to remember one of the gaatlock piles where it was really hard to get the Interact button to show up, but it eventually did if I stood in just exactly the right place. I thought I had found it and it didn't blow. The whole area was weird for me. Everything took minutes to respond. I'd click to talk to the human working with the qunari but it would take over a minute for any dialogue to show up. The gaatlock piles didn't immediately blow. It was really strange. At first I thought that was the problem with this particular spot but then it never blew up. EDIT: Solved. I had to go back a bit. Couldn't even place one detonator. This time I was able to place it and, based on reading that a mage could cause it to explode if the detonator was placed, switched to Dorian to do just that. Seriously thought I was never getting past this area!

Re a discussion in the thread on the old forums about promoted magic barriers when using the Walk Softly trial: it does indeed work to make a save and reload in order for them to not be more or less invincible. I had a much more roundabout method to bypass it, but easiest is just to save/reload as the promotion is random.

Hope this is the right place to ask this question. I've read about the passive 'Dance with Death' skill to be sometimes bugged. Not sure if it has been fixed with patch 10 or 11 but any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

So I was reading the TV Tropes page of DAI for fun, when I stumbled over this text: my head went: /Evanura sword? I never heard of an Evanura sword. /So I go to the Dragon Age wikia and what do I find? EvanuraAcquisition:Can only be acquired after finding the codex entry The Silver Knight in the Exalted Plains. Once acquired travel to Emerald Graves and interact with the Lindiranae's Tree landmark located in the same area as the roaming Giants. Upgrades Comes with:
Master Frost Rune icon Master Frost Rune (+16 Cold Damage) Bugs:When claiming the specific landmark for Evanura the player may not receive the sword. This is usually due to the player not obtaining the codex entry: The Silver Knight, either prior or after the claim. Simply grab the codex and claim the landmark or, if already claimed, return to it.

Come to think about it, I pretty much put myself in a position of never finding it. I excluded the Emerald Graves from my first run in order to have something new to explore in my second run, and my first run is the only one where I actually read every Codex entry.

I went on ahead and stickied this thread for everyone. Bugs are the #1 funkiller in any game. I'm honestly surprised this wasn't stickied sooner. If there is anything in the Little Things thread that's more of a bug that an easter egg or the like, please put it in here. I'm sure the OP of the Little Things thread doesn't mind.

I just got back to playing the game again (hadn't got too far through the campaign when it was released). There seem to be some glaring errors with the scripts of some of the skills.
Blizzard (Mage/Winter) ticks for 75% w. damage every 2 seconds, effectively halving the described DPS of the skill
Wall of Ice (Mage/Winter) costs twice its described mana cost (supposed to be 50 but in effect depletes 100 mana). Mana is depleted (by 50 points each time), first when the spell is cast, then secondly when the wall itself is erected.
Has no one noticed that? Can someone confirm?

The spell itself appears to be working correctly. I'll add a note for the typo. I've never seen that myself, but I've only use Wall of Ice once and then decided it's not worth using. Probably an under-used ability, so an error this bad might well go unnoticed this long. I would like independent confirmation of some sort before I add it to the list, though. It's pretty egregious, if confirmed. Any volunteers? One thing you can try to rule out a possible double activation, assign the ability to an AI controlled mage and remove everything else from their loadout so it is the only thing that can use mana. Video the AI in combat and see if it zaps 100 mana to 0 every time it is activated by the AI. That would also serve as confirmation and I can reference the video in the list.
