One thing you can try to rule out a possible double activation, assign the ability to an AI controlled mage and remove everything else from their loadout so it is the only thing that can use mana. Video the AI in combat and see if it zaps 100 mana to 0 every time it is activated by the AI. That would also serve as confirmation and I can reference the video in the list. Not precisely what you asked, but I hope this helps I've added the item to the Bugs section. I tried it with Trespasser installed and the bug still happened. Curiously, if the mage has the Sigil of the Great Bear equipped, the mana deducted goes back to just 50. It's weird, the first part of the cast takes like 5 mana, and then the second part takes like 45, when the Sigil is equipped.

Looks confirmed as a bug to me. Thanks for making the vid! Is that with Glacial Strength upgrade or not? Trespasser installed or not -- looks like not? Just need these details for the item I'm going to add. You're welcome. Yeah, the skill I used was upgraded but the bug still occurs either way. I don't have any DLC installed at the moment.

Is there a bug with Horn of Valor? The effect work on all the party members except for Solas who seemed not to get it at EG and EdL and it only kicked in at the boss fight in the Fade. I always make sure to use it before charging into battle.

Joined a lobby and my Katari got no guard at all. So no fun in Nightmare. somehow that bug also made my skills look like I couldn't use them, even tho I could. There's also another guard bug in MP. Instead of Katari/Silent Sister gaining guard while attacking, the other characters would gain guard and Katari/SS would not get any. But I haven't seen that happen in a long time.

Although unbowed no longer exists, i've been doing some testing in emprise du lion with the fadetouch aurum volcanic ( don't know if this is well written in english)and cassandra was getting guard for every ennemy in range. I was controlling her manually to be sure she doesn't do anything that should generate guard and she ended up the fight with 1/4 guard. So you can still get that ability with a masterwork, but it seems a bit underpowered to me compared to fade touched silverite or many other ones. One other thing that could also be relative to this topic, is that compagnions get walking around very far from your inquisitor when exploring, like about 40 or 50 meters away from her or him as if they were leading the way instead of you. This can become annoying because they sometimes run into packs of ennemies before you get in range of them. i don't think this happened during my first playthrough of DAI.

I've updated posts #1 and #2 on all new reports to date. Summary: - Updated Chaotic Focus vs. Flaming Array BUG with explanation and confirmation. Removed DISPUTED tag.
- Added suspected problem with gain guard, marked as confirmed in MP, not yet confirmed in SP.
- Updated Unbowed FT Masterwork item to indicate some testing in SP suggests it still works to give guard for nearby enemies.
- Added ANNOYANCE item for party members sometimes being separated too far apart.
As always, thanks to everyone who contributed reports and confirmations. Very much appreciated!

Hey charlie, think i got sthing for you, i was finishing the pride temple with the shards quest to get elemental resistances for Jaws of hakkon, and i once again got that annoying bug! i explain: When one of my teamates triggers an elemental mine by walking on it, the mine kills him by using one of my inquisitor masterwork. In my case i'm talking about walking bomb 100% and hidden blades*5. With hidden blades it's quite ok and fun, but with walking bomb you can't see your friend anymore because he has just exploded. have you already heard about that?

Did you pick up the book and see it checked off as completed (that part)? If it really is bugged and you are on PC, you can load this merchant mod and just buy the stuff.

I had something weird happening to my Inquisitor today. I was fighting Demons from a Rift, when she somehow got a barrier. Yes, she is a mage, but she does not have Barrier in her skill bar. I since specialized her as a Knight Enchanter, but this was happening before I got enough Lazurite to craft the Spirit Blade Hilt and I haven't put a single skill point into the KE tree yet. In my party were: Dorian (no barrier in the skill bar, nor is it a skill he learned), Cassandra and Cole (wearing the Amulet of Barrier). Because Cole is wearing the Amulet of Barrier, I'm assuming that it somehow procced on me instead of him. Tho idk why it would do that. Will test my theory later.

Oops, that might have glitched it. Depends how far you went. If you just start the training without turning any part of it in, it should be okay, I've done that many times. But if you actually complete some part of a training you didn't intend to take, could be it triggered a bug.

Ah, well. I'll just punt and DL the mod.
Edit: well, that was a bust. The mod did nothing, and when I followed the basic troubleshooting steps in the ModManager tutorial it broke ModManager; Origin doesn't give you a patch folder after a repair anymore, and ModManager won't run without the patch.
Screw this. I'll just play without a spec and see if an essence ever drops.

Sorry papacharlie i post here because you seem to be the bug expert of that game and i've been searching on internet forever to find out what is going wrong in my case. i explain: i can't get the trophy firestarter of jaws of hakkon despite i destroyed all 8 shards (including the 3 ones spawned by the boss) and lit all 7 braziers and still can get the trophy. i don't think it's post trespasser related but you could maybe know sthing about it. Normally i don't care about trophies but it's only thing remaining, so... This must be definitely a bug imo. thanks.

Were you connected at the moment you earned the trophy? My connection sometimes drops, and if it isn't up at them moment the achievement isn't scored. That's all I know about trophies not showing up either. If you are sure you met all the requirements, it should pop up when you load the save from immediately after the last requirement was met. Try again on another day, when you are sure you have a good connection.

Don't know if this is post trespasser related, but i 've got this following annoyance: evrey time i go to the reasearch table (don't know how you call it in english) at the same floor where dorian is, only 1 or sometimes 2 research items are properly registered. i mean with "bonus damage to the ralated foe acquired" pop up. There are cases i'm 100% sure of not having found the item i'm dropping on the research table before. so i'm actually throwing them away for nothing. This bug is really annoying with very rare research items like the one you get from the darkspawn bruiser hurlock leader. is it just me? is it post trespasser related?
