I did it I took Anders Isabela and Fenris The first time I started panicking because I had to kill my companions and it clearly said that a death in the fade would make them tranquil so I was afraid I was gonna make Merrill tranquil or something glad that wasnt the case although im not exactly sure why its differentEither way its all done now more friendship points than anything Also yup thank you sorry it was me just mixing up language between disapproval and rivalry... either way im trying to be friends with everyone I'm going with "plot hole," although if someone has an actual answer, I'd love to know as well.

I've read the following suggested:
1. That because you are Fenriel's dream/mind, you are less in the Fade...
2. Also that the Elven Keeper method is different from teh Circle method...
3. Also, just like any "dead" companion can immediately revive at the end of battle, all you did is knock them out, in the fade, not actually kill them.
4. Also, Gameplay and Story segregation.
My opinion? It's probably #4, but I like to think it's #3 so the lore isn't messed up.

About Merril. Don't be afraid to accumulate her rivalry points. She gets even more beastlier in battles if you have her as rival. In story/lore perspective, she makes some trouble terrible choices and as a nice hawke it is very difficult to agree with her. You can easily rack up massive disapproval later on the issue of mirror. Game allows you to still have relationship with her.
1 skill point you get by siding with Topor is no doubt immensely useful. Specially in nightmare. But I couldn do it. Feynriels mother and keeper's reaction made me felt so bad I reloaded.

Well... since you reject Torpor's offer, the first person that should come with you is Anders - lots of friendship points there. You can take Merril, however, the best way to go about it is, hear the offer, then when Anders/Justice tells you *not* to take the offer, agree and attack. As I said before, Merril's points won't change, but you'll get +10 friendship points from Anders. Also, in case of Merril, you should be sarcastic/neutral when she gets tempted, otherwise, you'll get a lot of Rivalry points. Another one you can take in the Fade is actually Isabela. Be sarcastic in the Fade when she gets tempted (+5 Friendship), and then be forgiving after the quest. Major friendship boost there (trust me, you'll need those in Isabela's case later on) Another one with which you can get friendship points because you deal with Torpor is Fenris. Not much (+5), unless you attack without hearing Torpor's offer. (+10). Nothing changes no matter what you say when he's tempted, I think. Personally, I think the best team (to gain friendship points), is Anders, Fenris and Isabela. Give it a try and see how it goes.
Another reason to talk to Torpor, even if you are going to kill him, is because he tells you how to save Feynriel if you ask the right question.
I usually take Anders, since he won't be tempted, Isabela for friendship points gain, and rotate the third one. Usually it's Varric or Merrill, but this last time I took Aveline and she didn't turn on me either. Maybe because she was at 100% friendship already? That unfortunately doesn't stop Varric. I took Fenris once and he really didn't like it, so now I don't take him anymore.
Everybody except for Anders is prone to temptation and can betray you. There is sequence to who is more prone and which demon is tempting. Don't remember but it's in the wiki. Don't be afraid of the betrayal though, you get a side quest for every betrayal. But boy Varrics crossbow and Isabela backstab can be lethal, specially if you are squish mage.

I thought thr way it worked it that the desire demon can only take one person and same for the pride demon. If you bring 2 people who are both slotted for the desire demon, only one is tempted.
I intentionally brought one person for each demon to be tempted. Isabella for the desire demon, Febris for the pride demon. But I could avoid the second loss to Pride if I'd brought both Fenris and Merril. Because Merril takes precedence over Fenris, I wouldn't lose Fenris at all in this combination

Only one will be tempted at a time. If you didn't bring Bela , aveline will be tempted. From wiki.. In both cases, only those characters betray Hawke. With Caress, Isabela is the default, but if she isn't in your party and Aveline is, Aveline is tempted instead. With Wryme the order is Merrill, Fenris, then Varric. Therefore, if you go into the Fade with Anders, Aveline, and Varric, you could potentially lose all three for the duration of the quest (if you choose to deal with Torpor). A party of Merrill, Fenris, and Varric can only lose one character, as can a party of Anders, Isabela and Aveline (provided Torpor is not negotiated with).

Run into a little uh hiccup... Im at Sundermount doing Merrills quest with the mirror and first I went into a cave where there was an evil tome and my party was completely decimated by demons and shades seemingly infinite amounts so I reloaded and avoided that cave In Merrills quest well first all the spiders keep making me jump (I nearly screamed at one point I hate spiders I wish games would stop throwing giant spiders at me!) and then it came to uh the big monster thing and that destroyed all my party again it took Merrill and Anders out within the first 2 seconds and Fenris died soon after then it was just Hawke trapped in a corner with loads of spiders and a giant thing any tips??? Is there something its especially weak to???

One idea is to have the party keep their distance from the Varterral (that's what the monster's called) and use ranged attacks while a tank with high constitution (Aveline, ideally) hacks away at it. That's what I most often do anyway because, if you get too close while its losing health, it will start stomping the ground and all but KO you and your companions.

Sounds like you ran into the Nexus Golem chamber. That is one of the toughest fights in the game, imo, and that's without even bothering with the tome! Best to leave it until you are at least level 15 or higher. Bring a tank (Aveline) and Anders to keep everyone alive. Depending on what class you are playing, I'd probably also bring Fenris or Merrill. If you spec Merrill with high constitution (for her blood magic) instead of magic willpower (mana) she can build up a lot of health points and stays alive fairly well.
Make sure all your ranged characters (Varric, mages, Seb if you have him) are set to "Ranged" playstyle in the tactics menu.
Does anyone know how much friendship I need??? It tells me im friends with everyone on the friendship perk things... Varric, Merrill and Aveline are all up to the end of the bar, Anders and Fenris are half way through the bar and Isabella is between the I and the E in Friend
Ideally you want everyone at 100%, either friendship or rivalry. For Isabela, you need her to be at least 60-65% (I think) at the end of Act 2. The notches aren't marked but you can tell whether you are at or above 50% (either way) if one of the icons is lit up in their special talent tree. Also, at 50% you will get their Questioning Beliefs quest. The second QB quest triggers at 100% after their Act 3 personal quest is completed. Once F/R reach 100% either way, it will stay there regardless of your decisions.
Edited for correction above. Blood mages sub health for mana - they still need high magic though!

Thank you ill definitely try it I think it was "recently opened passage" or something from Sundermount So for example now that I have Merrills friendship at 100% I can say no to her and her mirror with no effect??? Because you have to kill the dalish clan or something right??? So ive been told anyway haha I think ive completed Isabellas questioning beliefs quest... I have with everyone actually ill keep using Isabella Fenris and Anders to try and boost their friendships up

But whether or not you have to kill her clan, depends on the dialogue option you choose when they confront you.
