Ideally, Bioware shouldn't exist. Let the people who still work there move on to other places in EA and work on other things, and close this studio. This isn't ideally, because as long as they under EA nothing will change. So i hope the new studio that makes Exodus will produce a fantasy game. And EA will see that what they have done doesn't work and DA will be saved by that.

This sound for me like Mary Kirby with Lucanis. Maybe Neve and him wheren't romances first, but have to be beacuse of less companions?

The Veilguard is that the people who made it, some of them are Dragon Age guys who worked on the franchise for years, are simply no longer interested. I understand you don't like the game, but to asume something like that out of nowhere isn't fair. The dev. said very often that this production process was a hard one. That they couldn't do what they wanted. The problem isn't the dev aren't interessted. It is more that what some people want from DA doesn't work for EA. EA have never understand DA and maybe never will, but they decied if it will be done or not. They want more money so they go with what they think make more money. And Bioware themselfs are going after trends. So maybe this trend wasn't for some DA fans.

And Bioware themselfs are going after trends. So maybe this trend wasn't for some DA fans. I didn't say it's a fact, I explicitly said that's the feeling I get. It's pure speculation.but I'm hardly the only one who feels this way. As for hardships of development, most certainly, I don't want to downplay the fact EA can be dicks. I just think it didn't stop Bioware before from delivering in the things they were known for so many years (story characters lore) even if other technical aspects tended to suck (yeah I'm referring specifically to DA2) The fact is I think this game is bad (before anyone jumps at me, I'm not saying it's a fact the game is bad, just that it's a fact I think it's bad, please pay attention to the difference) makes me want to try and analyze why that is. Now it could be the people in Bioware weren't competent enough to create something good out of the shit storm EA left them (if that is the case, which is not so hard to believe) But many people in Bioware proved before they are very competent game makers... That's why I raised the "not care" speculation. And when I say they don't care I don't mean they hate Dragon Age now and want to destroy it. Life is not so black and white. In my mind it's just more akin to a dungeon master that got dungeon master fatigue, even though he created his own world, something made him tired of keep developing it.

I didn't say it's a fact, I explicitly said that's the feeling I get. Sorry, my english skills. I guess I didn't quite understand the sentence correctly.
As for hardships of development, most certainly, I don't want to downplay the fact EA can be dicks. I just think it didn't stop Bioware before from delivering in the things they were known for so many years (story characters lore) even if other technical aspects tended to suck (yeah I'm referring specifically to DA2) That is right, but we don't know what EA's create guidelines were. Bioware also have had problem with their own decision. (yes i think of DAI) But with DATV i have the feeling EA have the bigger part this time. And that that is one of the reason they haven't closed yet.
The fact is I think this game is bad (before anyone jumps at me, I'm not saying it's a fact the game is bad, just that it's a fact I think it's bad, please pay attention to the difference) makes me want to try and analyze why that is. I understand that. Why don't you say bad in your eyes? And i like to analyze myself. The reason i pay attantion what EA and what Bioware do.
Maybe a thread where we analyze the game?
But many people in Bioware proved before they are very competent game makers... That's why I raised the "not care" speculation. An interesting thought, but have you ever thought that skills are not everything. Writing is all about ideas and creativity. If you can't seen it forcing it brings bad resoluts.

[/quote] I explained it yesterday, but the short version is that if you hear "x is bad" when discussing media and immediately assume the writer thinks it's a fact, it seems like bad faith to me. If I say a piece of media is good or bad I would have to be a major asshole to think it's a fact and not my opinion. If you assume I'm a major asshole it says more about you than me I think (not talking about you specifically, just the general sentiment that if I say a video game is bad it means I think I'm the highest authority to tell or something) I think it's madness I think it really all boils down to people who concieve anyone who says the game is bad as personally attacking them (otherwise I have no idea how can you interpret someone saying a piece of media is bad/good as anything other than an opinion

I think it is a very good conversation to have, you have absolutely nothing to apologize about. I think we all should try to always improve at communicating our ideas and opinions.
