Hue 😁 Yeah what I noticed was the different eyes on the DW and the bubble ring! curious For comparison... Thinking on it, the fact this art is still being updated after the usage in the teaser implies, to me, that it might be an actual mural we will see in-game. As opposed to just a teaser image in the style of the murals from DAI.
Or it'll be used in another promotional material of some kind, maybe.
(... of course, the version from the PC desktop background could be an *old* version of the art, too, I suppose.)

The change is subtle, but interesting. Nick Thornburrow is pretty consistent with his symbols, so when I saw the red circle behind Solas, I instantly was reminded of Meredith's loading in screen in DA2, where the same red circle is behind her.
Meredith was being influenced by the red lyrium, so the red circle symbol being placed in the background, framing a body, seemingly represents some kind of "control" or "influence." When I saw Solas framed the same way, I thought "Really, another Meredith?"
The circle has dimension with this update, with Solas being placed inside the sphere instead of being back-dropped by it. Maybe this change is to emphasis that Solas will not be affected the same way as Meredith was in DA2, in that he can handle it safely, given the barrier of light?
I know it's a small change, but Nick is a brilliant artist and so finely detailed that if there were any changes to be made, the change would be for a symbolic reason and not necessarily "this looks prettier."

That thing seriously freaks me out.

You mean something that changes in-game, like that creepy statue in Trespasser that moves when you you move around the chamber? That thing seriously freaks me out. Which statue is that? I've never noticed that detail. It's in the Deep Roads section. After you acquire the ability to blow stuff up with the mark, go back to that section to blow up a blocked entry. The statue is in the final chamber with the titan mural.
Here are 3 pictures in sequence where you can see it has changed position.

Does it rotate as you look at it? Or do we have a Weeping Angel situation here? >_>

Is it bad that I've been to that room so many times, and never noticed? Same here but I am usually so focussed on looking at the picture I never take much notice of anything else. It's a wonder one of your companions doesn't say something though. "Er, Inquisitor, I think we're being watched."

I know it's a small change, but Nick is a brilliant artist and so finely detailed that if there were any changes to be made, the change would be for a symbolic reason and not necessarily "this looks prettier."
The image does change from the trailer in other ways though. In the original there are three gold circles enclosing the idol, one with the black and gold nodes and then two outside that.
Then the wallpaper has only one. So effectively there are now 3 different images: 3 circles/red encircled Solas; 1 circle/red encircled Solas; 1 circle/gold encircled Solas.
Another thing that struck me is that in the trailer the idol started off as though it wasn't red lyrium and then veins of red seemed to creep up it. That may be just the way they made the lighting work but even in this image the idol seems to have been attached to a lump of red lyrium rather than the lyrium being a part of it. So did it begin as some other substance and was only corrupted with red lyrium after its creation?

It actually doesn't move on its own. You turn it by stepping on the tiles and pressing a button on its back or by using veilfire... It is part of the Lateral Thinker Achievement that unlocks some loot and a special dialogue option when you find Solas at the end of Trespasser. (I misremembered; the special dialogue option is triggered by finding some codices, not by completing Lateral Thinker.)

It does move on its own, as you change position in the room. I've never had to press the button to get it to move (the button is how you get the hidden treasure) though if it's following the Veil Fire torch I still consider that to be following me, and still creepy as hell. Once the statue is facing the wall and its eyes are lit, the tiles raise up so you can get close to the mural and read about what was buried there.

It's just doing what Solas does, then! If you have him in your party out in the world, he is always watching the Inquisitor.
