'cannonical' Interesting word choice there. if that means 'Fenris is going to be in DA4' then I hope they'll take into account the players that romanced him and didn't leave Hawke in the Fade during Inquisition, and replace him with someone else
...I shall be very cross otherwise (Hawke deserves a happy ending damnit! )

I don't see why a Fenris with an active romance would have to be replaced, though? I hope not, since that means mine wouldn't show up. lol
Also: Undead dragon??? Most of it si intact, but the odd detachment of the jaw and the fire makes me think "necrodragon".
... And now I'm wondering why we haven't seen that concept before. lol You'd think that'd be, like, Nevarra's first line of defense.

Well, depending on when DA4 may take place...the timeline may not match-up
the comics (as I understand) take place after Trespasser, in order to fill in the gap between that and DA4's prologue Trespasser canonically takes place in 9.44 Dragon, and Varric's epilogue slide says Hawke is back in Kirkwall...I always liked to assume that means their sibling and LI is with them as well (if they have one)
I mean, I wouldn't mind seeing Fenris again...but I'm just worried they'll do something to him that prevents him from going home to a romanced Hawke (Then again if they handle it like Zevran's DA2 quest (provided you use a fix), I'm not too picky )

...I shall be very cross otherwise (Hawke deserves a happy ending damnit! ) I wouldn't much bet that Fenris is going to have a huge role in DA4 since he can be killed in DA2. I know the description says it's "canonical" but it's canonical in the sense that it follows the general canon Bioware use for the expanded material but our game world states will always take precedent over the books and comics. if that means 'Fenris is going to be in DA4' then I hope they'll take into account the players that romanced him and didn't leave Hawke in the Fade during Inquisition, and replace him with someone else

It also looks like it has some manacles (are they called "manacles" if they're on an animal's feet? ) and weird, star shaped wings.

t also looks like it has some manacles (are they called "manacles" if they're on an animal's feet? You can also see the remains of a collar which must have been around its neck. So it definitely looks like a dragon unbound. So it could be symbolic of Lusacan, since Castel Tenebris (the castle of Shadows) seems likely to belong to adherents of his, or just a normal dragon that was captured or bound by magic for an as yet undisclosed purpose by the villains. Let us not forget that the castle is, I believe, somewhere on the edge of Arlathan Forest and that according to Dalish legend the Imperium used magic, demons and dragons in their final assault on the city there. Those Vints would have been Old God worshipers so it is not too much of a stretch to think that a cult dedicated to Lusacan might have access to similar magic. After all, Corypheus had a dragon bound to him and that was part of his effective immortality. As the villains are linked to the Venatori they would definitely know about his dragon and may be even what it did for him, so the possibilities are there.

Actually they do talk about the pros and don't brush away the cons. They were, however, talking from a viewpoint where you accept that Bioware aren't bringing the Inquisitor back as the main PC in DA4. So they are saying why the Inquisitor should be involved directly in some way, or risk making them seem like the HoF from DAO, where you feel they should be involved but they side-line them with some lame excuse. However, they also point out that not everyone was happy with the way Hawke was dealt with in DAI and so to bring the Inquisitor back as a non-controllable NPC could present major problems for continuity in the mind of the player.
Whilst it is clear we are getting a new PC next game, it did occur to me that the statement "no magic hand" could equally apply to the Inquisitor. Of course, the statement that they are someone "they will never see coming" would not.
It was also interesting that they admitted the idea of the Inquisitor not being involved because of being known by Solas was somewhat devalued by the suggestion that Varric is going to be involved in some way. It was why it surprised me they had Varric saying the things he did but particularly "I've got your back" that implies a definite connection with the new PC that does somewhat undermine the idea that they are going to operate under the radar.

So, maybe someone could help me find a thing I know I read in a news/blog post - I swear that a few days ago I read that Bioware is remastering Mass Effect in collaboration with another studio, but I can't remember their name. Please, if anyone knows which tell me, it's driving me crazy because I'm starting to think that maybe I just dreamed it all!

So people might be interested in watching Jon Renish's Twitch streams, as he's playing DA:O for the first time: And he gives some insights on how they're planning to develop DA4 in his streams. Got this from a fella on Discord whom I know from both the r/dragonage and the ME servers, he's given some bullet points: TBD on how it pans out in the future, but it's worth giving them a watch. He also keeps the streams archived on his Youtube channel, which is why there's only one stream in his Twitch. So, maybe someone could help me find a thing I know I read in a news/blog post - I swear that a few days ago I read that Bioware is remastering Mass Effect in collaboration with another studio, but I can't remember their name. Is Varric as a dwarf less susceptable to Solas because dwarfs don't dream?

Is Varric as a dwarf less susceptable to Solas because dwarfs don't dream? It depends on whether you believe the testimony of the Carta dwarf in Tevinter Nights. He maintained that his company of dwarves appeared to have been attacked in their sleep, as he says it looked like they were having a bad dream and yet says that dwarves don't dream. However, other people called him out on this suggesting it was something else that killed them. Of course it was Solas in disguise who appeared to confirm that he had killed them by pointing out the fact that it proved the Dread Wolf could kill those who opposed him in their sleep but that could be simply because that is what he wants them to believe. Nevertheless, whilst it might be harder to find the mind of someone if they don't dream that doesn't necessarily mean they can't be found, particularly if they are known to Solas. Besides which he also uses conventional agents to spy on people. After all, I doubt he found out about Charter's meeting through her dreams.

Is it weird that I'm kinda hoping for DA2 2.0? Like, after the massive scope of DAI I'd like a more intimate setting with more personal ties again.

Oh man, this is so bad.
"On characters which are quantum (i.e. characters which can die or which can have similar end-states as death in previous games): their being quantum makes it really hard for the devs to work with those characters in subsequent games. The devs naturally aren’t going to put as much effort into characters which could have died previously. A character can have had an amazing appearance throughout/role in a previous game, but if there is a risk of something happening to them and of them being removed [effectively] from the plot, it just doesn’t make sense to have them as a major character in a subsequent game. If a character can, say, sacrifice themselves in some glorious ending, the devs have to make sure that if they use them again, in worldstates where the character didn’t do that, the character is kind of ‘muted’, as the devs don’t want to disrespect the players who made a different choice."
Which completely defeats the purpose of having the choice in the first place. The point of choice is the consequence. All this does is inflict the consequence and remove the choice. Just pick a canon that they're dead and move on, then. It's preferable to this middling shit. You can get away with it in DA, because they're all expendable and replacable, but it doesn't work for ME.
And then this
"If we kept our Wardens as the PC throughout all 3 games, at the end they would be so powerful that it’d be a bit like “Let’s just do [thing], I’ve killed gods before, whatever”. He thinks it’s good that they have fresh characters each time in DA in order to reset that power level. Some people want more Commander Shepard in the next Mass Effect and he feels like, ‘what else could you possibly want / what else could that character possibly do after 3 games?"
You don't have to do something bigger. You have to do something smarter. Also, you absolutely can depower a character. It's called wear and tear. People go through stuff, they get changed, not always for the better, both physically and mentally. Obviously the "mentally" part Bioware in ME didn't get down at all, because they focused on the completely wrong subject for Shepard, but you absolutely can do the physical. Too many past injuries keeping characters down, age, etc. Have Shepard's cybernetics fail, have injuries be persistent, make him vulnerable. The best fight in the entire Trilogy, was the one wit Tela Vasir, another spectre, not a Reaper. There's plenty of people at Shepard's level and that he beat one, doesn't make him unbeatable.
The fuck are ... these people are hacks. Genuine hacks. Do you think James Bond, after 25 movies, is a god trampling down on everyone in his way? We know he's going to win, of course, but the challenges are unique, some greater, some smaller, most of them good and some of them are great even. Jon, you're basically making your company out to be creatively bankrupt. At least the writing staff. This is unbelievable.
Edit: I'm still really upset about this. This is why Bioware is currently the laughing stock of the industry. More than any glitches and bugs in their games, Bioware gets constantly roasted for their writing choices. Unless this philosophy changes, they are never, never going to be respected again.
