Having just come off the December 13th Livestream on loot, progression and gear. It's pretty clear that the depth and tactics involved in the Javelin builds will be a huge thing. It seems self-evident that we'll certainly need an "Anthem Builds" sub-forum and I'd welcome any comments from BSNers who are particularly into developing game builds, perhaps even with a view to some of you developing and sharing threads with 'master' builds for other's to enjoy, if you would find that a fun thing to do. Shall we discuss what would be the best way to organize such content and what would be the most fun and informative way to share this with others? We have 6 difficulties, 6 loot rarities, components, gear, and inscriptions to unpick. I won't say more at the moment, because my head is reeling with it at the moment.

Loot system looks dope There's definitely a lot of potential for builds to dominate the Anthem page, so maybe we could do something similar to the library we had back in Dragon Age: Inquisition Multiplayer. You'd have a collection of threads (or videos) linked inside of a Global thread named "Anthem Build Library"; or something similar.

You'll need spreadsheets to keep track of inscriptions, components, special properties and the interactions with every abilities/weapons for each Javelin.

Sounds good to me (author of half a dozen build posts on DAI forum ...)!
Any concerns about the Inscription system not allowing rerolls or transfers (though the latter is an assumption, not confirmed)?
Getting stuck with what the RNG drops kind of puts a damper on the old min maxing game for builds.

People will create their "build" thread like they do for the other games. We will need a thread for finding something quickly (unless they are added to the Javelin master thread?).
Archetype might end up being weird though, the build they showed in action was "hover to use abilities more often and regen shields via multi-kills". I'm sure people will come up with cool names though.
And we can't exactly title thread with "left action increase damage of right action that loop back on the Ultimate that boost all damage and use this weapon type for bonus explosions"... Although, it kinda sound cool.
edit: Oh crap, forgot about crafting. They haven't showed how it works yet, but I suspect it's rather simple hence the lack of "reroll", you'll just salvage the crap generated and re-create it. We might need a thread for that, more to explain how it works to people than tips though.

In BSN prime, I originally came in to find out about some bugs in ME3. I'd never done MP before and was intimidated as sh!t. Then I discovered the words, data mining and spreadsheets of Cyonan, Redjohn, Peddroelms, and a whole raft of folks for whom I shall always be grateful for teaching me the ways of game mechanics.
Did the same with MEAMP. I live for that stuff. I went from Scrubby McScrubface to … Les McScrubface.
OK, we now return you to our regular nonsense ...

If my peeps on the research team reassemble for Anthem I'm sure we will go back to working on a Masterbook with mechanics tested to the fullest extent possible. See the MEAMP Numerical Data Masterbook for an example. I'm hoping we can get the really smart folks like pedro and Isaac back - I'm not nearly as good as they are at using third party tools to yank things like enemy health and damage values. But I'll be trying regardless, I just usually really enjoy BioWare games' combat mechanics and design.

You can have tabs, I just grabbed that one-page example page real quick. Ultimately, I think the spreadsheet is useful for collaboration, since it's easier to give many people edit access and would be great for data collection. Tabs run across the top, just under the filename (Anthem in this case, this is just a test doc)
I'm not sure, however, if it's useful for showing off builds, unless it's just a catalog catalog with links to the thread that talk about the build in question. The detailed ones are my favorite, even if sometimes a build doesn't work for how I play stuff . When people make a build, talk about why they chose what they chose and then (sometimes) pop up a video showing gameplay... those are my favorite - but I know not everyone has the time to do that, and sometimes they've just tossed up a link to kalence (for me3). Talking of which, I have no idea if there's anyone around like SeasonedTurtle who might build something similar for Anthem.

Even ones not known to be data mining gods.
"Mere mortal" data minors rank pretty high in my book and add a whole lot to a game and the game's community.
Just like the spreadsheet gods and folks like SeasonedTurtle, that create character build GUIs …
