After having re-assaulted my eyes with the horror that is DAO's Tevinter garb (see below)... At least these were marginally better: I'm reminded of how far fashion has come in Thedas! Everything's so shiny and detailed in the Frostbite engine, velvet looks plush, furs look warm... 😍 we're heading up north (as far as we know) for the next game, so what are some styles you'd like to see? Personally I'm mourning the loss of thick winter furs (WE HARDLY KNEW YE), as seen in these Avvar armors and Morrigan's concept art. Not that they're a definite no-go, but they might look a bit out of place outside of chilly Ferelden. I love the use of feathers and teeth and furs, makes mages in particular feel very raw and hedge-y and primal, but it's also just generally a nice change of pace from the glitz and glamor of other armors. Speaking of armor, we've seen images from the Red Book of what look like Fog Warriors (on the far left) as well as some stylin' Qunari and 'Vints, among others: As for Qunari, I suspect we'll see the return of the Antaam-saar armor ( here and here) as well as the sturdier Shokra-taar armor ( here and here). Both the Viddasala and the Saarebas character from MP wear unique variations of Qunari armor. Tevinter fashion looks very sharp and pokey and dramatic. I'm wondering if we'll see some toga-inspired summer robes, like this or this? And before I go, friendly reminder that Archon Radonis wears THIS: What are some armor styles you'd like to see in DA4? What about uniforms, casualwear? Is anyone longing for the bright red Nutcracker outfit?

#Erimonddidnnothingwrong.
On the matter at hand I would love for just variety for crying out loud. Granted it might be difficult to pull off proper variety without compromising the other systems in the game and I would rather have variety in role playing then Variety in clothing but still, a man can dream.
Also maybe remove the plastic feeling some of the clothes came off as in DA, granted when they added the other clothing for skyhold it helped, and granted I always liked the tails blowing in the breeze for some of the armors. But just give us a wide variety of hoods, hats, just more armor maybe make some that are form fitting and it was an absolutle travesty that there was only one hood in Inquisition...or really one good looking hat but both of them were only tier 2 mats. Maybe...as much as I hate it...do something like ACO and allow us to get the look of the armor we want but with better stats...hell maybe if they removed the tier part of the schematics like with Inquisition's crafting system but kept the tiers in the actual mats that could really help too.

I prefer sleek, simple, practical designs. Especially for mages. It makes no sense to be trudging around the wilderness in a floor-length robe. The most I'm willing to accept is an overcoat, like some of the armours in DAI had.
The "Inquisition" armours were nice, and I wish they'd had schematics so I could craft actually viable versions. I also liked the Dalish armour, and I went to great pains to acquire that schematic as early as possible, so my Dalish character could wear it.
Slightly off-topic, but I hope they replace (or even better, remove) the "elf/dwarf/whatever-trained" restriction. I don't think it makes any sense. You shouldn't need special training to wear a hat. It doesn't matter that Sera is "human-trained". She is an elf. Human clothes won't fit. And if I crafted the item myself ANYWAY, who's to say I didn't alter it to fit on some other character besides the one it's apparently intended for?

Inquisition's armors were nice, especially the tight fitting ones. Would it be too much to ask for a hooded cloak? A dashing rogue or a mage could make good use of it. Make sure there is no hair clipping.

When it comes to armor, nothing else matters except aesthetic. Sadly for me, I love ridiculous sexy JRPG armors (for both women and men, ESPECIALLY MEN) and care very little for realistic brown/black/gray/earthytone blobs of armor that totally hide all skin and figure.

Silk, velvet, superfluous adornments and some BDSM leather wear. I'm only half joking. I really liked the DAI clothing, DA2's Champion gear and while I have a soft spot for DAO's Tevinter clothing, I hope they improve on it.

And yet somehow, the headwear (and hair for that matter) seem to get progressively weirder with each new installment?!

You know, I've had just about enough of your denigration of the Robes of the Witch, vertigomez! I'm personally offended. Can you not tell that this is the height of Thedasian fashion? Seriously, though, I'm also looking forward to seeing what Tevinter has in store for us. It does appear to be a cross between Ancient Rome/Greece and The Capital (from Hunger Games). With more metal spikey things. I'm most interested in seeing what the Fog Warriors/Dancers attire looks like. And I am hoping for some really cool garb from the Ambassadoria (dwarf meets camp meets Rome? yes please). For companions, as I stated in the wish list thread, I hope that our companions maintain distinct looks with some variation between armor types (a la DA:I). For the PC, I mostly HATED the Inquisition looks. I'm not into tails on coats. Or trenchcoats. I mean, a trenchcoat and a fedora? What am I, the Edgelord Inquisitor? So, since I typically run a dwarf or qunari, I tend to go for the race inspired garb. One of my dwarves uses the dwarf paragon inspired heavy armor (despite being a rogue). Another uses the dwarf scout armor. My canon Inquisitor uses the only decent looking Inquisitor armor while my new mage uses the Avaar Warrior armor (big shirtless beefy daddy with war paint!). I'm interested in seeing more cultural styles as well. What do they dress like in the Anderfels? Nevarra? Antiva? Rivain? Right now, it's fairly generic. I'd love to see it teased out a bit more like they did with Orlesians in DA:I.

I'd definitely like some flowing lighter weight fabrics for my mage PCs or silk. Also bright colours. It is still a disappointment to me that Tevinter fashion was said in World of Thedas to be various shades of black, in other words Goth. However, both Alexius and Felix wore different colours even though the court jester style didn't really appeal. I crafted some really nice robes for Dorian in gold silk and I loved his style. Really I just want Tevinter to be different in every way from the south. It is meant to be predominantly a hot country, so loose fitting, flowing fabrics make sense whether people are mages or not. Feathers are also a possibility because of what Anders said about that magical bird called the simir that the Tevinters apparently hunt because the feathers have magical properties.
As for Archon Radonis, please how on earth does he get through the day in that get up? It is like they took Vivienne's outfits (which I actually quite like), combined them with the Divine's outfit (which I agree with Dorian is awful) and then magnified it plus 10. To be honest, to my mind, it doesn't give a sense of power but simply looks ridiculous. Luckily I don't envisage my PC becoming Archon so I won't have to endure the fashion.

Sadly for me, I love ridiculous sexy JRPG armors (for both women and men, ESPECIALLY MEN) and care very little for realistic brown/black/gray/earthytone blobs of armor that totally hide all skin and figure. I’m on the other end of the spectrum in that I want it all to look practical and functional. Never a fan of the chain mail bikini or loin cloth of protection style from sword and sorcery stories/games. JRPGs I gave a pass for this as their worlds don’t seem to conform to reality as much.

Well honestly there should be both but something tells me we won't get sexy armor for those who don't like practical armor. If I play a fantasy RPG, I want FANTASY. Even in my clothing.
