Hi there,
Some of you know me from the old bsn a couple years ago, I used to mod DA:I/MP for fun and made some videos about my progress.
Over the past year the Frostbite tools have gotten much better, to a point where the modding possibilities have expanded significantly.
I know modding is taboo, but done in the right way it could make the multiplayer experience more fun.
Some ideas that are actually feasible right NOW:
- Port the heartbreaker enemy abilities to lower difficulties
- Create harder difficulties
-- (eg. enemies would be level 50, final boss level 200)
- Give enemies more base abilities, similar to Heartbreaker (eg. Make
enemy Archers be able to do leaping shot, or Heavies do dragon rage)
- Create your own factions (eg. wilderness faction, boss faction)
- Spawn more dragons (instead of 1) in Ferelden Castle
- Make the dragon in FC on steroids, make it
bigger, stronger, toss more elemental boulders, give him more abilities
- Create your own character builds ; instead of pre-established ability trees (eg. Reaver now has Saarebas Leap)
- Re-introduce singleplayer abliities (Resurgence, Wall of Ice, Resurrect, Cloak of Shadows, Rally, Thousand cuts, Mark, Aegis, Discharge)
- Re-introduce unused abilities (Speedboost, Turret, Rapidfire, ReflectiveBubble, etc.)
- Create a horde mode / change the wave system (eg. Auto trigger wave 5 right off the bat, teleport players to the end zone, spawn infinite reinforcements)
Ideas that need the tools to get just a bit better:
- Add entirely new characters, eg. Play as the Demon Commander
- Port enemy/AI abilities to be playable
- Create your own maps/Arenas to fight enemies in (eg. Castle in the sky)
Of course I haven't listed all the possible ideas, but that's just off the top of my head. Post suggestions if you have any. If you don't think it's a good idea to do these mods, let me know why.
