Hello all!
I'm currently doing my second playthrough of Inquisition. During my first playthrough, I did the Jaws of Hakkon and Descent DLCs before fighting Corypheus, but because my character was so high level at that point the "final boss" fight was comically easy. To hopefully get a better experience this time, I decided to leave the DLCs until after the Corypheus battle. I knew that Solas would leave after the battle and therefore wouldn't be available during the DLCs, but what I wasn't counting on was Vivienne being elected Divine (I supported Leliana, but I know that doesn't guarantee a particular result) and her also being unavailable as a companion. Thankfully, Dorian decided to stick around, so I'm not completely mageless, but isn't it also possible for him to return to Tevinter? That's what he said he was going to do in my first playthrough, but since I jumped straight from the Corypheus battle into Tresspasser I'm not sure if he actually left or not.
Basically my question is, is it possible for all three mage companions to be unavailable after the Corypheus battle? If so, does it make more sense to play the DLCs first, especially if you're not playing a mage Inquisitor? My first playthrough was with a mage, so it wouldn't have been as much of an issue then, but I'm playing a rogue this time and I admit to feeling a little panicked when I saw the party selection screen.
Thank you!

If you go back to Vivienne, you can ask her to join you back. She'll still be Divine, but you'll be able to pick her too.
You could, of course, tell her not to join you back. In that event, if Dorian was kicked out or if he was never recruited in the first place, than you'd be left without mages. It's important to note that Dorian does not leave the party if he plans to go back to Tevinter.

Basically my question is, is it possible for all three mage companions to be unavailable after the Corypheus battle? I can't say for certain what would be the case if you didn't recruit either Vivienne or Dorian but as the previous poster says, Vivienne should be available to you even if she is made Divine. That is also true of Cassandra. As for Dorian, even if he hates the Inquisitor's guts he turns up in Trespasser and presumably is available to use there but I don't know about JoH and the Descent if he left the Inquisition before fighting Corypheus. Even if he says he was returning to Tevinter after the battle with Corypheus, he will stay around for the DLC.

I did the Jaws of Hakkon and Descent DLCs before fighting Corypheus, but because my character was so high level at that point the "final boss" fight was comically easy If you have Trespasser installed, you also have Trials available. If you turn on the Take It Slow trial either when creating your character or any time during your game (they are in the Options menu, I think) you will gain XP at half the normal rate. Another trial I pair this with is Even Ground, which means lower level enemies will rise to match your level throughout the game so you always gain XP for kills (normal game gives no XP for enemies 3 or more levels below you).
With both turned on for the entire game, you should only max out XP in Trespasser.
Corypants might still be a pushover though. The DLC bosses are much better challenges.

Thanks for the responses, folks! Good to know Dorian will always stick around (as long as he's recruited, of course). I'll have to track down Vivienne when I go back to Skyhold since I might want her help for the Hakkon dragon fight. I forgot about the Trials, melbella! I didn't want to use them for my first playthrough, but the combination you described sounds like fun for future playthroughs!
