What the title says. I just purchased the full series and downloaded them on PC. I’m looking for suggestions about how I might mod DAO in particular to imprpve the experience and where to find the mods in question.

Dragon Age Nexus has most of the mods at this point. So that's probably where you should start. If you are going to be serious about modding then there are two utilities you need. Modmanager and DA_CharGenMorphCompiler. The more you add mods the more you will use them. Here are some excellent lists of great mods. Warning: Some of the lists recommend Qwinn's fixpack. This mod does not play well with other gameplay mods. You must choose between it or the others. Enjoy!

I know it seems intimidating, but I would suggest just browsing the Nexus and looking at mods you find interesting. What I like to do is bookmark those as I go along, and then return to them when I'm done browsing through everything. The amount of mods available for DAO is paltry compared to say, Skyrim. I dislike mod lists because they are highly subjective and can become outdated. In addition, you might miss little-known mods that you might actually enjoy. Um... that said... here's a mod list I made for DA2 just a few months ago for my most recent play. nightscrawl.tumblr.com/post/177580596463/da2-mod-listAt any rate, using the DAO-Modmanager and DA_CharGenMorphCompiler is not required, but might be useful for a novice.

The Nexus site as has been asid is probably the best place to go for mods and you may need to play around a bit to get them working which can be challenging at times. The first thing to do for me would be to look and see if you can find a mod manager for that particular game. Basically a mod manager's job is similar to a installation/setup program where it'll pick up the mods you wish to use and install them in for you. They don't always work smoothly which is where the playing around bit comes in. Once you've used the mod once though and you know how to get it working then it's fairly straightforward from then on in but every mod is different. The easiest ones to install aer probably ones linked to the CC such as different hairstyles/skin complexions and outfits things like that. So you may want to start there until you get the hang of it. Ones that interact and alter other areas of the game it gets a bit harder.
Generally I only use CC style mods anyway I don't play around with mods that change other files so can't really help there. But then I too have only just figured out how to mod DA2 as I've struggled with that up until now. I've been able to mod DAO and DAI for a while but DA2 up until now has remained elusive so I'm kind of glad I can say I can mod all 3 now. I haven't rtied the mods I have in the actual game yet as I'm waiting till I finish playing DAO first but they are appearing at least in the CC now. I've had some success with ME3 recently in terms of getting different hairs to appear in the game but I have yet to get the hairstyles to work in the CC so I can attach them to my character not sure what's going on ther but I hope with time I can figure it out.

Alright, I’ve been trying it out.
I’m still deciding on other “extra stuff” mods, but does anyone have any recommended bug fix mods?

My lists are a few years old, but for what it's worth:
Fixes and tweaks
I avoid the 'all-in-one' type packages most players use unless they modular and can be manually installed as an override, since 'one-stop' packages tend to either include fixes that are really subjective tweaks, or have compatibility issues with mods I consider essential.
