I don't ... I don't know what they're smoking. Chris is just in it for the fun of it, I guess. The money too, I suppose. He's not going to fight aliens and dinosaurs forever. I mean, Koopa's a turtle, right?
Can we get his co-star from Tomorrow War, Yvonne Strahovski, to play Princess Peach? No, that's Anya Taylor-Joy, apparently.

Bioware doesn't have a big market in China anyway so it doesn't really matter to them. Blizzard on the other hand will be looking at these continued regulations in the video game industry with a VERY WORRIED look on their face

China has already once tried to manage loot boxes so its nothing new, I am just surprised it took this long. Blizzard in the past has made alterations to their games for the China market such as the Forsaken and their skin. If they want to continue being there they will just do the minimum work to continue to keep China happy and if people get upset at the changes they make they will just point to the Chinese Government and say its their fault.

The only people that are going to see these changes are going to know that is what is happening since these changes are pretty much going to be in China only. Game companies have had to make alterations to the games for years for localization of the Chinese market, so I doubt anything that you are seeing the Chinese government is mandating really make it outside of China.

China seems to be going after Online games pretty hard at the moment. A whole swathe of new things are coming out seemingly every couple of weeks. They apparently slowed down the approval process for new online games (looks at Diablo 4 and Immortal) while it put in place new guidelines for gaming for minors. Limiting their hourly playtime, limiting their monthly spending on games (30 dollars on games for people under 16, 60 dollars between 16 and 18), lambasting online games as "spiritual opium" and now they're pivoting to other aspect of video games like how they promote unhealthy cultures. So while no one aspect seems particularly worrisome it seems that the Chinese Govt has gaming in their sights at the moment and you have to wonder when the new regulations will stop. I mean, the Chinese Government did summon Tencent and Netease so they could berate them over not doing enough to curb the time spent gaming online by minors. And Tencent is the company Blizzard has to pair with to release games in China. So the minimum necessary isn't always satisfactory to the Chinese Government, you must strictly enforce these measures and not allow ... heh, online shops to rent accounts to minors. Investors seem worries as well that China haven't finished, that there will be more regulations to come. They seem to going a little over the top at the moment. Who knows where this will end

Since I remembered that this game existed. Disciples Liberation seems to be giving the Disciples franchise the Larian treatment and returning as a TBSRPG. Definitely an interesting twist. The game releases in 9 days and also has a playable demo on Steam. I'll be trying it out later tonight, myself. I should get into streaming as well, at some point.

EA will lose it's exclusivity on FIFA as FIFA wants to license itself to any company, as long as they can afford it obviously. www.fifa.com/news/fifa-set-to-widen-gaming-and-esports-portfolio"FIFA is bullish and excited about the future in gaming and eSports for football, and it is clear that this needs to be a space that is occupied by more than one party controlling all rights." EA must be really pissed, losing exclusivity on 2 IPs in 1 year.

I wonder if 2K will be interested in kicking EA's FIFA to the curb, too, after what they did to NBA Live. Wouldn't that be funny.

EA must be really pissed, losing exclusivity on 2 IPs in 1 year. I don't think EA cared that much about Star Wars. The rumors was that Andrew Wilson didn't want it, but was stuck with it and they barely did anything with it. As far as FIFA goes, I think it going to depend on what companies think its worth. I guess EA didn't think it was worth the $1 billion they were asking for per year.

Rumour is, after the success of Fallen Order, EA loves Star Wars. So I don't think they're as happy about any of this. They just don't understand what their demographic wants.

Rumour is, after the success of Fallen Order, EA loves Star Wars. So I don't think they're as happy about any of this. They just don't understand what their demographic wants. Fair enough, its the same as the rumors that EA was done with Star Wars after Battlefront and I think it made more money for EA since it sold more copies and had MTX to bleed players dry. So the truth is probably somewhere in the middle. Eventually it just comes down to the numbers an I think that is what happened with FIFA, I think FIFA was asking too much money for the licensing and EA said no. So they aren't happy about losing the exclusivity, but I don't think they would have been happy with the amount they would had to pay either.
