It used to be 4000 in the previous 2 seasons. And if you did multiple servers you could rake in quite a bit by not having to do a whole bunch in each. That's why they also knocked the rewards further back I think. Now you have to do a lot to get the most from it.
Though they claim putting in the occasional cartel pack in the rewards makes up for it.They just didn't want people making that much CC without paying for them lol

First off, yeah, people will abuse this for free CC. But then again - you have players putting a crapton of hours in the game. That benefits everyone. More population = more fun. And not like Bioware will run out of store items when people get more CC. I have loads of it and honestly have no idea what to spend it on. On another note - I need another Legacy storage for my credits. "grumble, grumble"

SWTOR makes the first steps toward 64-bit.
About time...6+ years ago, lol.
Joke aside, this is good. They also experiment with cloud gaming. But knowing it's a skeleton crew, these updates are probably at least a year or two away from properly functioning.
I can already imagine the broken stuff that will come with the initial 64-bit integration.

Why is Pazaak not in SWTOR? Good question, even though the person who posed it is now one with the Force. F. Would be great if they implemented it at some point for the casino event that comes around every summer.

Big patch coming tomorrow 7.2.1 at 35 GB (https://www.swtor.com/patchnotes).
64 bits client, Galactic season 4, new PVP season and lots and lots of fixes (and probably bugs too).
The new "credit sink" is probably going to hurt new players more than billionaires.

How many zero's would I need to add to that now? There are none on my server (Star Forge), so I can't say, some of the other unlocks are in the 100m right now thought. I became a billionaire by selling one decoration item that I got from a crate rewarded via the latest galactic season. I had about 120m before that playing on and off since the game released. Some people just have way too much money in the game and nothing to spend it on.

Some people just have way too much money in the game and nothing to spend it on. That's why I periodically go to lower areas and gift millions to players able to trade. Biggest giveaway was between Christmas-New Year, around 3 billion total. You will be surprised, but there aren't a lot of people that reply to my gift calls and it's kinda tough to give money away, lol. Some players even thought there is a catch or a scam. One player straight up called it suspicious activity...until he got 20 million and couldn't believe it. He got shafted though, because I gave others 30-50 million at the time. Many people thought I made a mistake with the zeroes and some wanted to trade back.

If we look at their past actions, the game will be in maintenance mode. Minimal updates. Even a possibility of losing some of the content - I think they had a major screw up (in DAoC if I recall) where they started revamping zones, made them unavailable for the duration, then canceled the revamp, but apparently didn't have backups of the originals and never opened those zones again. So yeah, not really confidence inspiring. Just expect that the game is pretty much done in terms of content in a few months after the transition.

It pretty much confirms maintenance mode for the game (but then it basically already was in maintenance mode) and probably closed down once the license expires or, as some people are theorizing, when the rumored Zenimax Star Wars MMO release.
On the other side, Broadsword Online is an ex-EA studio that used to manage BioWare (Mythic Entertainment) and they still run and maintain two of the oldest MMOs out there. Also, half the dev team is moving with the game apparently.

This is terrible news, I've actually been enjoying this MMO quite a lot.
Just have to hope that when the inevitable happens and they pull the plug there will be private servers to play on.
It's unexpected news as far as I'm concerned, as even though the game isn't in the 'big league', WoW, FF14, ESO etc - it's still got a pretty healthy number of players, most of whom are very loyal and dedicated.

Some interesting stuff in that thread. Sounds like the money made from SWTOR has allowed for the long dev cycle for SP games like Dreadwolf, but that may have to change now. Also he mentions working on a game under NDA still - I suppose another MP game? It's been years since I last played SWTOR. I enjoyed it for a while as a mostly SP experience but I still would've just preferred more SP Kotor games in the end. Hope it sticks around for a while.

My biggest take away from Chris's tweets is that Bioware/EA really did do the SwtoR team dirty over the years. Never really getting any marketing post launch. Never really saw any of the big names at the studio ever really talking about it. And a big ouch at only giving them 10 pages in the book. SWTOR has better writing for the main class stories and even some of the expansion stuff than anything Bioware has put out post DAI. I feel like once it went free to play the company was just like eh whatever it exists I guess.. but hey we will def take all that money!

I don't think that's how budgeting works under EA.
No way SWTOR was paying for BioWare Edmonton prolonged development of Dreadwolf, especially as Dreadwolf was meant to have heavy online components only to be ripped out after the success for Star Wars Fallen Order.
Andromeda was BW Montreal thing that BW Edmonton had to rescue, at the expense of Dreadwolf( which lead to the first reboot) and even Anthem that was a online looter shooter.
Also while Anthem sales were disappointing, it was still profitable and microtransaction market was still a major success.
I think if anything guy is justifiably bitter against BioWare Edmonton. As mention in tweet thread, SWTOR got very little respect in BioWare 25th anniversary book. We saw that with Andromeda reporting, BW Edmonton did not respect BW Austin nor BW Montreal at all, completely living in their own BioWare magic bubble which wouldn't burst until after Anthem.
But that still paints bias and makes their statement misleading.

Funnily enough Andromeda was passed to Montreal so Edmonton could work on Anthem and they both imploded. And having to come to the rescue of Andromeda had nothing to do with the failure of Anthem, the problems of Anthem were so deep you had to redesign the game to fix them. Anthem was a live service looter shooter, at what point in Bioware's history were they ever great at ... loot. That being said it was never envisioned as a looter shooter, it was envisioned as more a survival game, something else that Bioware has a lot of experience crafting I guess. Anthem's troubles were Edmonton's alone. Not sure the decision to outsource the future of one of the more valuable IPs (Mass Effect) Bioware had to a studio in charge of DLC was the best thing ever either. Not even sure rescuing Andromeda led to Dreadwolf's first reboot, which was to make it a live service game. Feels like nothing to do with Andromeda to me. Anyway on the topic of SWTOR, this news actually makes me want to give this game another shot. Having a more experienced MMO studio guide this game to me will just benefit the game enormously. EDIT: Oh maintenance mode RIP. That's a big shame

EDIT: Oh maintenance mode RIP. That's a big shame That's speculation, if after the move SWTOR keeps its revenue stream, the new company would reinvest it into the game I think and give it a dedicated team. Something Bioware/EA was apparently not fully doing going by an ex-dev and I know that some on the dev team were part timers also working on other projects (2 months on SWTOR, 2 months on project B type of schedule).

BioWare Montreal was created by BioWare Edmonton for the sole purpose to continue Mass Effect IP, because BioWare Edmonton Mass Effect team wanted to move on to a new IP.
It just simply did not go according to plan.

I'm taking a wait and see attitude for this atm. But I do feel like BioWare Austin has always been unappreciated and SWtOR was the red headed step child of BioWare and EA. Makes me mad cause this game is pretty darn awesome and I've been at it for 12 yrs strong and subbed the whole time.

I just want a few more years of enough updates that tie most loose plot threads tbh. If people get more mmoing fun than before, and it constructively builds up the new company instead of them just leeching it dry (looking at you Gameigo, you vampires of my old main MMORPG), all the better.
