Snip So E3 was this weekend. And we've heard much about a lot (Keanu "Cyberpunk" Reeves). ---- ---- Snip ---- ----
Cyberpunk was a major anticipated event while Anthem a "no show" (relatively speaking). A pity since E3 was an opportunistic moment for EA to market the game but chose not to....
You know, if Anthem was truly a golden nugget, EA would have gone "wild" marketing the game.

We fully believe in anthem! Just... you know, not enough to actually give them a timeframe.

We fully believe in anthem! Nobody asked Ben if he believes in himself and his team pulling it off, though. I think the Anthem team's morale has hit really low and you can see that in the livestreams. By now, I think they have a pretty solid idea of what their loot system should be like, in order to offer a sustainable, rewarding gameplay loop. I think some transparency right now would go a long way. Something along the lines of "we need to rework these dependencies and this is a final plan of what the loot mechanic is going to look like in the end, so we believe we can have it out in X amount of time, but in the meantime we will also be making content, cosmetic and gear additions" so that the playerbase knows what to wait for and have some expectation for the future of Anthem and maybe actually be excited for what that future brings. Especially since the common sentiment to the Cataclysm update has been so lukewarm.

We fully believe in anthem! Just... you know, not enough to actually give them a timeframe. Have you seen how much time they've given to ESO in Bethesda's conference? They've recently had to expand server capacity because of how many players play it now, with each major expansion more popular than the previous one. That's after about two years of "no show" - that's about how much it took the game to catch wind in sails, with the game really taking off 3 years after launch. So if you think you're waiting long for Anthem to get fixed or that supposedly EA doesn't believe in the project because if doesn't give it a timeframe (rather than time for live service team to improve the game and produce content, which is seemingly what happens)... well, you may have some erroneous assumptions about games of this type.

I've not been playing as much as before as I've had a few medical issues but I finally have more time now. Finally finished the Challenge of Might. Not sure what I got for it but it took a while! Learnt a bit more about the Legion of Dawn from the Bard. Always interesting Most of my GM2 sessions I seem to start alone and then have to wait for people to turn up later. The Sunken Citadel stronghold being one such. We tried when we had two players but wiped a few times until two more of us turned up and we could do it properly. Seemed like nobody knew how to do the puzzles this time round so I actually gave it a go. Still no idea about the one where you have to press the things in a particular order (how do you work out the order?). I basically decided to leave that alone in case anything I did screwed it up for someone who actually knew what to do. We took a while on that one! I finally got to try the one with the revolving concentric rings and managed to work it out eventually. I seemed to be the only one doing them at all in the end! Probably died five times more often than any one else in the final fight. Not sure why. I guess since I was an interceptor and ground level I had less chance of spotting and dodging the incoming damage. Either that or I just suck One thing that worked well was a new Universal component I picked up called Emergency Power. If your armour gets critically damaged you immediately refill your ultimate meter and the ultimate does 30% extra. Only works every 120 seconds but it's the first universal that seems like I might take it over a javelin-specific. Not sure if it's a new item but I don't remember seeing it before.

The first pyramid looking thing tells you the order of the 3 pedestals. You "activate" the first one, and it will flash over each pedestal in the order you need to stand on them in. If you do it correctly, it will flash over it as you stand on it in a bluish white logo. If it comes up red, its the wrong one. Obviously you only need to see the first 2 as that only leaves the last one to figure out. The rotating pattern one can be a pain when your backup is non existant or a bit slack 😂

Yup, I swapped this for Victor's Resolve as my armor regen mod. Basically, instead of trying to shotgun my armor back when it is low, I use this component to leverage my complete incompetence to devastate the enemy AND fully regen my armor and shields. Definitely, not something I do on purpose tho, but handy as hell. I have found the trick to using it is to hit that ultimate button as soon as it pops, otherwise I get killed looking around for whoever is kicking my ass.

I don't want to turn this in the skepticism thread, and I think you erroneously assumed that my post here was something other than lighthearted joshing. In any case, I enjoyed anthem up until I didn't anymore, recently. Knowing full well what type of game it was. However, I'm the kind of person that likes their games finished in a fully accomplished state at release. That is because I myself am a person who does not like half-assed work, and I also apply that belief in my own daily work routine as well. Hence, the statement of "this type of game always is released in a beta state and is improved over years" does not sit well with me, to the point of calling it out as BS. Just because everyone else releases their live service games half-assed does not mean you have to do it as well. Go against the stream. That is what I trust (e.g.) CDPR or Capcom to do. Not bioware anymore. That being said, if Anthem becomes a better game in 2 or 3 years, well... I hope so for them but... 2 or 3 years is a LONG time 1) in a technologically ever more rapidly advancing world 2) with an ever decreasing loyal fanbase 3) with an impending console new generation coming 2020/2021 4) an utterly fantastic game release year 2020 coming up 5) notoriously bad PR/communication skills (subjective, maybe, but not really) 6) having to please your overlord publisher on a quarterly basis 7) while also having to develop another make-or-break game (DA4 will be the last nail in the coffin if they don't stick it) We'll see. We'll see... I don't have the patience (nor the time in real life, honestly) to stick around until they get their shit together. On topic, then: Today in anthem. Man, RDR2's world is amazing! Really puts anthem's soup bowl to shame. Well, anthem's world is more densly packed, but RDR2 feels so much more... livable than anthem. I'm really getting lost in it

Yes, easier said than done, sometimes. I've been caught out a couple of times not getting the ultimate switched on before I die. At least I can get my revenge big time when I'm rezzed!

Because I definitely see more skepticism than joking. To minimize off-topic I'm going to say this - similar things you've said have been said about the games that are very successful now. It didn't stop them from being very successful. All the things I've said before still apply. /offtopic

Other companies HAVE turned their game around. But that is absolutely zero proof to state that bioware will or can do the same with anthem.

I'm really getting lost in it Excellent post and I'm in complete agreement. I too stopped playing Anthem a month or so back, coming in every now and then to see how the patches affected things. It also blows my mind to watch the live stream, see the look on their faces, and think to myself "how in the world do they have the nerve to sit in front of a camera and talk about Cataclysm" when the game launched like it did. Knowing what happened at E3 in 2017 makes it even worse. I don't know if its full on arrogance or what. People will move on from Anthem I feel and won't wait the 2-3 some say it'll take to get back to what it should have been at launch. I'm not putting my money toward another live service game until I see it a few months after launch. You done done me in BioWare. Oh, and you're right, RDR2 is a breathtaking game as far as the main campaign goes. I tried to get into online and wasn't feeling it. The end will blow you away, or it did me anyway. Make sure you play the "after" main game to see where some of the characters went and how they made out.

I decided to give freeplay a go today as that's the only thing I haven't tried since the latest patch. Had 2 expeditions, 1 hour each. 1 with a random I met the first hour. The first one I got a MW Machine Pistol, Unending Battle. Holy cow, what a beast!!!!! The 2nd expedition I got another MW, this time a shotty, Papa Pump. Haven't tried that one yet. Did they do a stealth patch to the loot drops or what?! I only had one other MW prior to today. I'm level 26 and trying to get to 30 but its slow going right now. So psych'd to get the 2 new MW weapons though!!!!

Today in Freeplay Faye made a comment on a shaper storm beginning to grow. The sky was definitely fiercer but for now I guess it is a teaser. I had thought I was imagining things. The skies did look darker, more stuff blowing around, more precip falling, everything looked more alive. I even think there were more enemies and general other live things around. I also noticed more activity in Fort Tarsis but that could just be my imagination.

Pfft… I don't have THAT many +175% Weapon Damage shotguns with extra +Reload Speed combinations. It's getting kept. It is a good rolled but not god rolled. but who uses shotguns if its not as stat sticks and that one has like 0 good Rolls as a statstick, no armour, no shields, no javwide dmg rolls or gearspeed. It would just be usefull with acid slugs or the ranger component that primes, and even then it has none of the above mentioned Rolls. Weapon damage Rolls are not that good unless they come with some of those Rolls as a bonus. The only exception would be wyvern blitz or a herald for crit builds, for a secondary build as even then they are inferior to combo, melee and proc builds. I should show you how a proper weapon looks like...XD edit: ok here you go bsn.boards.net/thread/17708/proper-legendary-weapons-showcase-thread

Completed "The Coming Storm" challenge in PTS … guessing it will be a lead up challenge in the two weeks prior to the Cataclysm kicking off.
You can score some of the elements in other missions, but mostly it's about completing "Chrystal" world events in free play.
Similar to regular free play world events … can include critters, Dominion, Scar and Outlaw.
I was part way finished before I even realized it was a challenge.

When I equip shotguns, it is usually on a melee build and they get fired a lot. I wouldn't stop anyone with a better Legendary selection from using them as stat sticks, but that one I posted works for me.
