PillarBiter : not quite sure about the total combo impact damage I'm running with right now. I think I have it on 3 components as well as on the support item. Unfortunately all of them single rolls and also 2x components that don't do anything else (sniper magazine and special arms ammo) for my build. Because of that I can't use symbiotic surge right now which would give another boost. Also the Rampager bonus plays a role and it's usually the fire explosion that do the most damage. Would have to record a run to see what was actually active at the time, I just remember seeing them being over 600 at times. I can only imagine the nice number that will pop up if I were able to do the build I want and put those inscriptions on components that I have more use for. And hopefully on javelin specific components as well because right now I'm using 3 ranger components. I could go down to two possibly if I'm focusing purely on combos but I don't know... wish it was more like with the Interceptor that can basically run 5 universals. Or like I said: have the good stuff on javelin specific components, that would be even more helpful. I just tested some of the new weapon. Tested as in "I got into freeplay to see what they do and how they work" and I'm not really happy with them. I didn't expect to be as I recently watched a few videos from the PTS days about them. They feel gimmicky and seem to cater more towards the casual players but I can't see them replace what I use for the Ranger and Interceptor. Jarra's Wrath might have been a contender if it primed faster. Only having 2 weapon slots really limits you and on both javelins I use both weapons a lot. Maybe I'll buy some more chests just to get a legendary version of every weapon, even with crap rolls - just to have one in case we can ever switch inscriptions and I want to use one of them... other wise I'll probably save the crystals and hope for the support chests to return and buy more melee weapons - both in high hops of really good rolls. My recently aquired Bad omen takes down shields way faster than anything I've used so far.

Well I tested the new weapons a bit more but for now I switched back to my old guns. Got almost all of the new ones as legendaries and I think 5 or 6 of them with damage rolls, Bad Omen even with a double damage roll. Still not impressed too much. But we had 2 good cataclysm runs and I recorded the last one with new weapons in which we broke the 14 million score barrier that brought us to rank 6 temporarily on the leaderboard. Will probably upload it tomorrow...

I opened 15 or so weapon chests just to see what the new weapons were about. I got one lemon lightning rod with a 250 damage buff, which is quite handy a very good secondary weapon for my storm, as it detonates and is also pretty good at taking down shields (especially with ponder infinity ). In practice, the grenade-like nature of the lightning rod projectile makes it hard to aim. But that's a learnign curve, I presume. Still, good drop. I got 2 lemon grave diggers, both without damage (boooo!) but one of them a very good stat stick (it has shields, armor, and +150% weapon ammo which also affects my other gun), so I replaced my other stat stick on my ranger. Man, even without damage buffs this thing is a BEAST. I can't even imagine what a +250% or more would do... I got a masterwork jarra's wrath with a good damage inscription, but forgot to test it out to see how useful it is (and if I should keep trying for legendary). I'll try it next time I play. In any case, I'm going to stop trying for guns now as I actually got the 2 that I wanted as legendary. Maybe one day we'll be able to transfer inscriptions, and in the meantime I won't waste my crystals on guns, but rather hoard them for - hopefully - better gear. Also, I splurged on vanity and got the triple axis arrival for storm. Hilarious XD Did 3 cata runs: 2 GM3 runs with my ranger, where I each got 3 lemons (not bad). Got some new stuff (lemon cycle of pain, tyvm) but nothing good inscription wise. The second gm3 we were only with 3 people, but I actually got my highest score yet (7m+)! And we were a fantastic team! We didn't need no fourth 1 GM2 with my storm, where I used ponder infinity again instead of eternal squall, so I could boost the lightning rod's damage even further. But Something felt off the entire time... I have gotten too used to eternal squall So I'm slotting that one again XD Also, might go back to truth of tarsis instead of lightning rod. ToT has better single target damage. Sure, ligthnign rod is a good shield fucker-upper, but it's too situational. Maybe another javelin can better use this (I'm thinking my interceptor?). In none of the cata runs did we complete crucible of astrid. None of the players seemed to know how to do it (and neither did I, so I chickened out as the timer ran down and went off to kill vara >_>). On vulkk I read it requires 2 people. Does it? Or can it be solo'd?Won't be able to play for a couple days, probably. Shame as I need to hoard MOAR CRYSTALZZ for when gear comes back, but the future little one comes first

You should be able to solo Astrid but you need to keep an echo slot open so you can move the beam. So far in my team we had two runners and one controlling the beam. 😎

there is video around from KhrazeGaming:
he explains all the events and talks about that Astrid kinda can be solo'ed with the Storm but takes a lot of practicing because handling the airlock you only have about 1 second to teleport through or something... so I am not sure, we should probably get pacifist-BSN-teams together per platform to complete the no kill challenge together

Don't do it. Like seriously... if there's someone hanging around here who is very keen on soloing all kinds of content it's me I'd say. And I don't see any fun in trying to solo the Cataclysm right now, especially with events that are very hard to do so. I mean we have done runs in which basically everybody split and did an event on his own and also Vara is usually being taken down and farmed for points by a solo player - but I mean doing the puzzles solo. Why if it's not so easy to do or just takes too much time?
It's obviously helpful to be able to solo them when you are pugging and the other players don't know what they are doing. But my advice would then be: try not to play with (bad) randos if possible but with people you met in the game that are competent or people from around here or any other place. You might not even have to use voice chat if you just write a few message before the run about who does what and you should be good to go.
In the Crucible of Astrid we do the puzzle with 3 people actually: One is picking up the first Echo and places it to bring down the force field and then starts fighting enemies. The two other players each grab 2 of the echoes and then grab a weight and get to where they need to be going next - while the third player takes a quick break again from killing enemies and grabs the initial Echo to place it where it first was to lower the barriers for the two guys carrying the 2 echoes each plus a weight. They do their thing and the third player spawns the Valkyrie after that. It's pretty quick like that usually.
In Castle Kelrik on the other hand I'm all for soloing with the other players only calling out the symbols but not actually touching any of the relics (or whatever they are - we usually just call everything "bombs" for some reason...). It's far easier in my opinion if you don't have several people fiddling around with these things and possibly misplacing them or taking out some that are needed (or in public matches: people removing the ones you placed to spawn the Valkyrie because they think they need to be placed to open up the crystal).
PS: Ranger GM3 run from last night with 14.232.214 points is uploading right now...

Today in Anthem I discovered how Jarra's Wrath is basically rendering most other attacks in the game obsolete. And I'm not even using it on a build with crazy weapon or electro or other debuffs. But this thing just melts. And with Elemental Ops I'm usually double-priming. In combination with the Arctic Tomb grenade it can do funny stuff like doing mass explosions on Vara's adds and farming the double spawns nicely like you can see in the short video below. Using Jarra's gets boring at some point and the weapon requires hardly any skill. Just like the infamous Reegar back in ME3MP. But for now it's pretty good for clearing the Cataclysm. I also like the Rainmaker for sniping Vara's head and other weak points (like on Enforcers or Turrets for example). The other weapons I still find meh though. But these two I'd like to have with even better rolls (got some double damage ones on the Bad Omen and Grave Digger). Speaking of Grave Digger... I wish this thing would ignite and prime the target. It does fire damage after all. Would be a good substitute for the Ralner's Blaze then...
Anyways... here's some quick ice explosion madness with Vara's double-spawned adds powered by Arctic Tomb and Jarra's Wrath:

Last night in Anthem, I got 2 general tarsis components in a row. Still not the one I want. Laaaaame. Did some cataclysm runs with some people who didn't really feel like doing too much other than shooting things so yeah cool they were the meatshields who I acrually hid behind now and again. Got through astrid fairly quickly, but while I was looking for the switch for the valkyrie they all disappeared even though I told them to come back. It was at this point in time that I decided I really need to actually look into making a decent build as taking on valkyries solo was getting too tedious. Might spend tonight trying to solo Astrid...who wants to place bets on how long before I give up?

anyhoo, yesterday in Anthem... I thought to myself fuck it, GM2 here I come my thoughts on GM2 freeplay (tried it with my Interceptor): - kinda OK'ish in a team, had the feeling I contributed, enemies died fast enough - when I try to do events alone though I get overwhelmed too quickly for my taste, quite frustrating - loot wise I was maybe totally unlucky, but 1 lime and 1 MW for 3 events & one conjunction really felt not rewarding at all + the lime though was a weapon I didn't have and the rolls were quite good but all in all me thinkz for freeplay I'll return to GM1 but alas, I thought to myself, whatever, GM2 cataclysms here I coooooome and I have to say, me likey!!! I tried it twice, once with my IC and once with my Ranger and both runs were relatively smooth, we did all events, and especially during the first run we communicated a lot, very nice so I think for cataclysms I'll switch to GM2 for now ... there could have been more lime drops though ...

I'd say so if you use it properly (tapping it instead of just holding down the trigger apparently does some wonders). It's still situational because of the distance and the area damage but you can melt single targets as well. Probably insane on a lightning buffed Storm, maybe some other elemental buffs as well and debuffed enemies. Too bad I deleted basically all my Storm stuff because I needed the space. I also like the Rainmaker which I use in the short clip to snipe Vara. And like I said: if the Grave Digger ignited like Ralner's it would be really awesome as well. The other weapons I didn't really like too much but I don't have good rolls on all of them. Some might be also good in certain situations (like a Razor Blade constantly shredding Vara's head). All in all I usually don't like these kinds of fancy weapons (weird effects, charge-up mechanics, more damage the longer you fire, etc.) compared to weapons that are more straightforward and shoot bullets (or railgun like stuff). But right now I'll keep using Jarra's Wrath. Higher gearscore, faster cataclysm event fights, good farming tool for Vara adds whenever I get this job in a group. It can be fun... but can get boring as well, especially if you stop using your javelin's other means of wreaking havoc because you keep using the weapon all the time... sounds exactly like my kind of weapon Don't you at least feel a little bit ashamed now?

Got this Jarra's Wrath MW I've been hearing so much about lately in the last run. Can't wait to clutch the whole cataclysm all by myself and melt all the things...on easy 😂. Anyway I've gotten the hang of astrid now, just have to get pugs to play nice and assist with the airlock. Sometimes have to shoot at the damn orb holder until they get the idea sometimes. It has taken a whole magazine and trying to type like a left handed antelope on the stupid ps controller at times though 😂.

Today has been a good day. 2 GM1 and 1 GM2 runs were done. I was the operator of the door as I couldnt find anything else in the near Vara event (Astrid?). On Kelrik I still have no idea what to do, but I kept the enemies at bay. I was awarded with LG Bad Omen, Lighting Rod and Riza's Ripper. Gotta go and test those after dinner!

On Kelrik I still have no idea what to do, but I kept the enemies at bay. I was awarded with LG Bad Omen, Lighting Rod and Riza's Ripper. Gotta go and test those after dinner! Kelrik is pretty easy actually: - there are 2 relics that can be accessed right away - there are 2 more relics that are behind barriers - over each of the relics behind barriers are 2 symbols - you have to use the 2 accessible relics and place them accordingly to lower the first barrier - when that barrier is down you get access to a third relic, so go and grab it - now you place 2 relics again on the symbols you need to lower the other barrier - then you have access to the fourth relic, so go and grab that - to spawn the valkyrie there are 3 symbols up on a wall and you need to place 3 relics accordingly - to open the crystal barrier there are 4 symbols (and lights) around it and you need to place 4 relics accordingly It's usually best if only 1 players does all the carrying and placing in my opinion and the others are calling out the needed symbols (though often I go look for myself as well because I need to see it rather than just hear it sometimes). In my last recorded run I did the running and placing. One relic got removed two times from my backpack but other than that it went okay so if you like you can take a look. Timestamp link should get you right to the start of the castle so you don't have to watch everything.

Pilot 2 reached level 30 last night before bed. Now I can let her taken on Vara and Strongholds. She has been mainly flying Interceptor and Ranger so far. We'll see if it is feasible with two javelins per pilot going forward. Four is getting harder and harder. Especially since I haven't even gotten any serious legendary autocannaons yet. Unless of course Bioware decides to give us more armory space.

Cousin got game on xbox other day so because we are linked i got copy aswell, mainly been playing colossus an got to lvl 27 i believe, been doing the cataclysm but no idea if im helping or hindering so i normally just run around smashing things an try no touch anything unless it looks like everyone aint got a clue which surprisingly seems to be alot of the time, unless im missing something which again is very likely. I just basically been using the cataclysm to gear fast and get xp to get to 30 thinking there no much point in doing much else with it till then but again i could be wrong.
Anyhow for what it worth im finding the game alright, obviously i no done everything an im only playing on hard but it enjoyable an that what it about at end of day

So, with Anthem being £20 and the Cataclysm being out, would y'all recommend it to someone who isn't a big MP player but has an open mind?

LG … I wasn't big on MP … then ME3MP happened … so for the discount price, give it a whirl.
I'm not into looter-shooters … the loot system in this game is (from what others have said) pretty awful.
But since I'm not into L-S, it doesn't bother me much. I like the story … it's too brief, but it is a good story with decent future potential.
Do the story parts solo (private) …
BioWare did not crack the code on combining SP and MP …
The story is really clunky doing it in public or even doing it with friends on a private setting.
Combat is fun. Flying is fun. Lots of weapons are bleah, but some are quite nice … once you get MW/Lego versions with decent inscriptions.
The strongholds are fun, but there needs to be more of them. Hopefully the Cataclysm will enter the next phase as some new strongholds.
Freeplay is fun. The Legendary Contracts and Legendary Missions are fun … again, need more variety.
With more content, the game is more interesting, but …
It still falls short in the loot/inscription system, still needs more content … both in story and in combat.
After completing the story, it's most fun playing with friends … I pug a lot and have fun, but playing with friends is better.
