I think the actual strategy though is - at least for a real launch - to calculate server resources according to average longer term users not initial logins. That's why you always get the crashes, because the first couple of hours are just a very high outlier and it's probably not cost effective to even try and cater to those. But for something like this demo, something that is supposed to show off your product as kind of an advertisement, I'd still have expected them to maybe make an exception and put their best foot forward.

Curious to see how they'll handle it when the open demo comes around next week.

From my time zone: Tried logging in at 9 AM and finally was able to get in at 9:50. I played a bit until 10:34, when I was going on a mission and it froze on that loading screen (Game tip on that screen was "All vanity items in the demo cost 25 coin"). I've been trying to log back in and it is currently 12 PM.

From what I did play, I enjoyed it. I found a funny little Easter egg with an NPC, that I recognized right away!

That's what I did and haven't been able to access since.

Of course it's those million people stuck at 95% and refusing to restart that's keeping everything bogged down. I hope you enjoy staring at that loading bar for the next 2 days.

I was able to play for two hours on PC, then went offline to try to get the referals for other BSN users. Only then I heard about connection issues and now I can't reconnect.

First impressions: Everything is moving around a lot quicker than I'm used to as a rpg/strategy gamer. Let's say there's no cover based shooting like ME3 MP. Flying went reasonably well and intuitive with mouse and keyboard. It's often hard to see enemies, besides their red arrow. Dialogue choices don't seem to matter so they just unnaturally hold up conversations (you have to press and hold button to choose if you say 'yes' or 'yea').

I get that and I look forward to later on, tomorrow, or next weekend for the next demo and I still am anticipating launch day ... I already paid. However, that doesn't negate the way I feel right now.

In general, not just with this game, I feel like early adopters get the worst deal from gaming companies. If you wait to buy, you get a patched up game, and quite often at a discount. Most games I will only buy on sale.

I'm not going to rake them over the coals or anything or bad mouth Bioware on youtube. I still love Bioware games. I just don't feel like they have earned my pre-order loyalty at this point. It's all good, lesson learned.
