If you try to do Strongholds normally, the game treats it like you also chose the Quickplay option, even though you didn't! And using Quickplay for Strongholds or Missions is broken 70 % of the time. I am spending more time loading into glitched instances only to leave and join another afterwards compared to playing. I spent over 30 minutes actually trying to get into a playable activity with Quickplay.
This game is Beta. The endgame is broken. Freeplay is the least problematic, but it gets so boring. I already have the World events repeating on me. They are not that many.

Well I've just had a contract bug out on me. Got all the way through to the final stage and the game didn't register the fact I had killed the two end mini bosses. I had to end the contract manually.

I have a separate post on this, but the 23 Feb patch did nothing for me but cause me to lose connection to the servers every 5-10 minutes. It was so frustrating last night after I downloaded the patch. I checked online and saw where certain ports should be open. I contacted my ISP and added the ports and still the same issue. I play on Xbox Once X and I didn't have all of the ports listed as open on my router. this wouldn't be so bad if the sodding game actually tracked that you completed the mission instead of letting you spam it time after time.... I think ive done the 1st stronghold mission 5 times now and still it reads as ready to launch/

I thought strongholds were meant to be endlessly repeatable. Isn't that working as intended?
It was a bit misleading, though. It gave the appearance that it was a new mission so, at first, I thought it might have been a second visit to the stronghold to continue the story but then found it, it was the same one.

I was a bit worried but it turned up again after the next mission its rather annoying since the original advertising said the weapon scaled with your character and unless theres some trigger to it thats not exactly true also how the heck are we supposed ot complete the javlin master stunts when every time you get close you javlin gets another couple of things it needs to use for world missions ? and really all those gun missions and the one i'll never finish is the lurker since its trash that doesnt go boom for 5 minutes

originally they claimed the legendary gear would scale with you so it stays relevant as a choice option for things like stronghold missions... long story short they havent implemented that feature and probably never will... as for the javelin challenges, you have to equip each piece of gear and complete 4 world missions (so for each javelin theres 3 parts each of which has multiple options, and most of which dont work for combo's or are just junk, I stopped before the go meet haluk mission and spent 12 levels trying to complete it just on the 3 javelins I had and every time I finished it I had miraculously looted more gear items that also needed doing and not just for the equipped javelin....) on top of all that you get the problem of missions not tracking properly to show they are completed, thats almost as annoying as the constant loading screens every time someone thinks its funny to race through a mission instead of looting the hidden items (did you know there were loot / harvest items all over the place in the mission area that you gain xp just for collecting?) most people dont seem to care about the extra xp and thus coin for each mission though there far too busy trying to race to the end (it also really ticks me off that half the stupid arcanist hidden symbols are only findable when your doing missions and the game gives you 10 seconds to see one pick it up before it teleports you to the next area meaning you cant get them all) certain things in the game are clearly in need of tweaking, like allowing someone to zoom off way ahead of the rest of the team, theres no need for it, and the loading screens take too long even when your running a decent rig (there even longer when your on an potato)

I never really looked at the challenges as something I needed to worry about. I figured they just happen over time and haven't really examined them in detail!
I've only ever played the missions solo so I don't have any problems taking my time over looting or getting the runes. Of course that defeats the object of maximising loot and Xp since you get less when you solo but I prefer the pace.
I'm not sure how they can fix the last issue about stopping people from rushing ahead though. I suppose you could implement some kind of gate which physically stops people from moving beyond a certain point until everyone has caught up to it but then you end up with the opposite problem of frustrating people because of someone holding up the rest of the group! I suppose the game could just maintain the environment for all four Javelins' locations but that would quadruple the load on the game which I'm sure is the reason for forcing people to move on in the first place.

so, didn't want to start a new thread - so here is my question: Weapon Challenges basically: "kill x enemies with Y weapon" - is this BUGGED? I am just missing 8 kills for a certain light machine gun (forgot the name, they all look so similar ) and did some freeplay and killed A LOT more "enemies" than needed, but it still sits at 48/50 . And I really just used the weapon, didn't use abilities or melee... anyone else have this problem?

that was my thought too (that they died of some lingering elemental effect) - so I explicitly didn't touch E & Q at all (and I was alone in freeplay)...
but UPDATE: at least that challenge finally worked let's see how the other weapon challenges work

Downloading the patch now. The tethering system is a good change. It was annoying to have that message appearing everytime someone flew a few seconds ahead.

Tethering adjustment probably doesn't require much of a change. I'm guessing the other issues, which were exploits, were significantly integrated into the game and require broad changes.
Thinking back to ME3, how many times did BioWare try to fix missile glitching? I wouldn't think the RPG would be nearly as integrated as the reward system and leaving/rejoining a match. Yet cumulatively, it required a lot of bits and bytes to (mostly) fix. In this case, along with Origin having to check (nearly) all the game files before downloading and installing the patch … I'm guessing the patch touched a lot of files, in order to fix what it intended to fix, without breaking other stuff in the process. Note … breaking other stuff could still happen.
Given they are releasing a broader patch later today, not sure why they would bother to include random fixes in this patch, that they didn't already cop to in the release notes. While it could happen, if they were trying to sneak something in, why not do it with the other patch, which addresses a lot more issues?

My guess would be more than one team working on bugs and other changes for the game. So they get released as said team complete it.
But i wouldnt be surprised if they are sneaking content already in the game considering their 90 days roadmap and that tweet showing Faye's voice actor already recording lines.
