RDR2? I'm assuming this is Red Dead Redemption 2? I've never played the original, let alone the sequel. All I know is that it's some kind of Western-themed game, and that's it. Never been a huge fan or Westerns, so I didn't pay much attention. I was interested, but it was a console exclusive. I might theoretically get convinced to buy a console for a really great game - money isn't really the issue there - but I'll never, ever play anything using a gamepad. These things are abominations that make my fingers break. Not enough fine control either. Whoever made the things popular deserves to get shot.
So the Red Dead games are for consoles only? Well even less reason to think about them then. I don't own a console and probably never will.

Yes, both RDR and RDR2 are only for PS and XB of their respective generations. There might be a PC release in the future....hopefully, because while I thought RDR was a great game with a wonderfully crafted story, I don't think I'll be buying another console again. I'm not going to get excited because all the signs could amount to nothing but bullshit but I've still been keeping an eye out for updates. >.> www.techradar.com/news/red-dead-redemption-2-pc-release-date-news-tipslinkhttps://www.pcgamer.com/red-dead-redemption-2-pc-release-date/

I'm pretty much over owning a console as well as for what they are, they are bloody expensive. There's the odd console game that's some out I wouldn't mind trying but the cost of the console to play it on just isn't worth the bother.

My Xbox 360 controller and my hands were made for each other, yo! Perfect fit. We're still happily married after ten years. Ahem... The PS4 controller hurts my fingers but might just be that my hands have been molded by the Xbox one over many many years and I don't use the PS4 much. *g* I'm the oppposite, I HATE mouse and keyboard. I avoid any PC game that doesn't have controller support unless it's Anno or something basic. Also, I game sitting in a bowl chair, aka "human sized dog basket", with the monitor at the very edge of the table tilted slightly downward so that the screen fills as much of my field of vision as possible. I love having the comfort of console couch gaming at the PC! X-Box 360 controller is my choice controller too. So much so, that I bought ChronusMaxPlus to allow play with it on PS3 and 4 too. Well, for the dual sticks and aiming precision, that is. For classic gaming recently bought a Hori Fighting Commander;

The only downside is the low RAM and their rotten hardwares and discs chance of malfunction.

That's very much a personal preference thing. I started off my gaming career on the PC with mouse and keyboard, many years ago, but I just can't do that these days, it kills my wrists. Controllers were a godsend, and one of the reasons I mostly moved over to console gaming. Much more comfortable for me. If a PC game doesn't support a controller I'm not going to touch it. So I'm actually really grateful to the people who made them popular!

Ratpack, you've got weird hands... Mouse & Keyboard are very comfortable (unless you use pretty small, low quality or inconvenient ones). Even PS4 controllers aren't the ultimate comfy gaming devices. XBOX controllers are actually the best. I have no regret buying PS3-PS4 like controllers tho!

I think it has more to do with the fact I spend almost 8 hours a day at work with mouse & keyboard.. Being allowed to finally angle my wrists downwards instead of upwards holding a controller is a relief.

Lucky thing we're not alone, plenty of controller mods out there, including for Mass Effect 1, 2 and 3 otherwise would not have finally moved onto PC for these games. Even Dragon Ages Origins has a controller mod now. For other games that don't support controllers, X-Padder can sometimes help. Especially if it's a simple old school game that just requires use of a D-Pad.

I've been gaming for almost 30 years now. I do not feel disappointed or discontent with the way gaming is right now. I do have a problem with 'gamers' though, but that's food for a different topic.
I think this is because, usually, I stumble upon a game I'll like either after it's released, or only just a few days before it is released. I don't get hyped or hype myself for months or even years. I expect little, so everything good about it is a bonus.
When you hype yourself/get hyped for something for months/years, it can only meet expectations, at best.
