I'm not really seeing how people are convinced the endgame is going to be lacking, when they've said next to nothing about it. So far what I've heard is - 3 strongholds at launch - the 3 grandmaster difficulties (gearing up for them will take time in itself) - Some type of unannounced raid activities - Freeplay and world events - Crafting - Shaper storms, cataclysms and firestorms (whatever they are..) Am I missing something? It looks like quite a bit to do at launch. I mean, I'm not quite sure what the "Sweet spot" is on the arbitrary content scale of "enough vs "not enough." The only people that are really saying that it looks like there is a low amount of endgame content are those on this forum that don't like/don't intend to buy the game and the gamers that zip through Destiny 2/Dividision story content to grind their endgames like it's their career or, in other words, 10-15% of their actual player-base.

That's not true. There a multiple people who have experienced the endgame of anthem that are skeptical on the amount of content that will be available at launch. Also most people who are interested in looter shooters zip through story content. It's called looter shooter for a reason, endgame is what matters. To get the best loot and do the best activities is what looter shooters are about, not the story.

There's no "zipping" through story content required. You play the story mission, you go back to the Fort and watch the conversation, you do the next. What are the rest of you guys doing, sitting there in Fort and listening to ambient NPC conversations for 20 minutes after every mission to contemplate the ramifications of your actions on the world and consider what it really means to be a Freelancer?

I'm following guys on Twitter I don't normally - YouTubers/Twitchers that are heavy in to Destiny 2/Division - to get a feel for this audience and these were their comments, "10-15% of the playerbase". So, if this is an error, I'll pass along your feedback. Likely near/at launch we'll get a roadmap from BioWare to see where they want to take the game after the first month or two. Until then, it's up in the air...

If you reverse the number it might be a more accurate reflection of the reality: In Destiny 2/The Division 10-15% of the playerbase actually take it slow and savor the story content. The rest 85%-90% zip through to endgame to grind for loot like their career.

They say it's the fringe that push the devs to try to decide between creating content for their casual audience or the minority hardcore audience that's pushing into the 600 levels. I gave both Destiny and Destiny 2 a shot, didn't have a bad experience but the first person combat wasn't for me which is why "Anthem's" third person combat is intriguing. Maybe BioWare is able to cater more to the casual audience that "Destiny" is indecisive about...maybe BioWare fails in trying. Who knows?

What are your friends/squad doing when you are doing the NPC conversations in Tarsis? I dunno, whatever they want? They can also hang out in Tarsis, talking to their NPC's, they can start up a story mission they want to do, they can jump into Freeplay to collect materials, fly around, do random events, etc. They can manage inventory. They can Kit out their Javelins. Depending on how long you are going to be they can jump into a Stronghold. I mean, why do you think they can't do stuff while you are in Tarsis?

There is lot of stuff to do in Fort Tarsis between missions, that is very clear even if the demo had a lot of locked content inside. So if you aren't doing "sightseeing" between missions then you are probably just skipping through story content.

Am I missing something? It looks like quite a bit to do at launch. I mean, I'm not quite sure what the "Sweet spot" is on the arbitrary content scale of "enough vs "not enough." Dragon Age Inquisition and Mass Effect Andromeda were both panned, if slightly differently, for having too much content.

So what changed?

Ah, yes, I misinterpreted your statement as when someone is doing Story stuff in Tarsis what are the rest of the people in the squad doing. I think maybe the "zipping through" people are talking about would be those doing only critical path to get to endgame content and ignoring other NPC side missions and story arcs that aren't on the critical path. If I'm understanding correctly now.

Quite disingenuous to frame it as if people were just blasting it capriciously. This exactly. Witcher 3 had an abundance of content but was praised for how it was implemented and flowed/integrated into the main story. Hell even its mino game was so damn popular that CDPR had to create a seperate game.... based on a mini game! That game then became so popular that they created a SP/story mode for the game!

Well, based on the demo I played, it would be an 8 to 8.5 if I was reviewing it. The content was solid despite technical hiccups.
If I get to review the game I'll let you know.it's already better than Destiny as far as I'm concerned.
