During the Demos I really got used to the Interceptor and quite liked it, but during the actual game....I've played exclusively with my N7 Ranger (it's really shepard in that suit, she did survive under the rubble after blowing the Reapers to hell and obliterating the star child), Bobbie Shepard even made it through the 634 years of ANDROMEDA to find herself in a totally uncharted galaxy where colonies of people- humans! are flying in these mechanized suits against all manner of beast and alien enemies. And because of her many years of combat experience and familiarity with war and what it does to people, how she knows what it takes to survive 'unbeatable odds', she has found a new home, fallen in with a most unlikely band of people and found a new cause to fight for.....
.......And then Freelancer woke up from a very strange dream. A dream about humans in a totally different universe, different galaxy, on a planet called "Earth" fighting for their lives. And she had this dream about one they called "Shepard", and just before she woke up, she caught a glimpse of the armour this soldier named Shepard wore: It was all black with red/white stripes on the shoulder and a logo that read "N7" on the right chest plate. And thus, she was inspired to paint her Javelin.

Ranger. I feel it's the most balanced for most activities. I've been doing all campaign, contract and freeplay stuff solo, and I think it suits me best.

Interceptor was the class I played most of the game. I never really play mage characters in other games so Storm wasn't really my thing. I never like just sitting back and casting. Colossus was too slow, especially after playing Interceptor, and Ranger just like a jack of all trades, master or none type situation.
Interceptor is very close to my favorite ME class Vanguard, so liked it right away. On the front line a lot, but without frontline shields & health, always on the edge of your seat. You have to play it like Vanuguard. By that I mean you have to see the field like chess, plan multiple moves, and know how you're going get in an out. You have to use your dash attacks as a means of attack and escape.
The difficulty in playing it scales as you increase in level and difficulty setting.
I wish I hadn't played it first, because other classes just seem slow in comparison after.

Colossus. I have been stalled on GM1 for three days now because I am not getting upgrades anymore, but at least equipping him for GM1 has been rather fast. Playing through Tyrant Mine with 8x gold medals hasn't gotten old yet, defending the ramp is my favourite spot in the game so far.

One of the things BW nailed with Anthem is that each javelin feels and plays very different. And Anthem works best when they compliment one another in play.
I have played Storm and Ranger extensively both are at MW level. I play a lot with friends and use whichever is needed. Also played around a bit with colossus. I haven't touched interceptor.
these are my observations on my 2 "mains":
Storm - access to loads of crowd control and many ways to strip shields and detonate combo's. Quick note, you dont need to hover super high to get sniped by everyone and their grandma. You can hover 2 feet above the ground and still move fine and get all the "hover" benefits. When running with friends i look at priming / crowd control everything, strip shields and let colossus / interceptor mop up.
Ranger - hugely underrated class for me. Especially once you get the MW components that 1 allow self heal (armor / shield) and more importantly 2 group heal in vicinity when you detonate a combo. I now run with 2 detonators and use melee or raynors blaze (assault rifle) to prime as needed. My brother mains colossus and i can literally heal him from zero to 50% in a few seconds and full health within 15 secs. On top of that ranger combines good damage with very good survivability and mobility.

I think Anthem has superb class design. Each one feels unique, and plays well. I mainly play a Ranger, and have been having a lot of fun. Right now the build I am running can handle up to GM2 difficulty. I will link a gameplay video so you can see it in action. Lot's of versatility, and FUN.

On top of that ranger combines good damage with very good survivability and mobility. This basically illustrates why Ranger is my main Javelin to run. I run solo most of the time, and I find it has the best overall balance for that. I can attack enemy camps and dispatch enemy lancers and I don’t feel like I sacrificed much of anything to do it. I agree that it’s pretty underrated. It’s essentially the Iron Man of Anthem. I love it.
