Lol all you want - AFAIK it had its problems, but it was the biggest launch in the franchise to date, it sold about as well in first week as last God Of War and is cited to have saved Final Fantasy franchise as a whole. Took ten years of development (hell) to reach those sales and required onerous financing to complete. Drove away key talent. Recently cancelled heavily advertised DLC (concurrently with an announcement of financial difficulties). Yes, "it had its problems." GoW was a single platform game.... And in the end it sold well enough to justify all that financing and implementation of more than a year of extensive live services. However you slice it, it was a success. The financial difficulties you cite weren't really related to FFXV, but Squeenix as a whole.

Even more true when people here seems to do exactly that...
Anyway, i wonder what they have in this expansion (storywise). I have to wonder if they're just going to release the story content gradually and increasing volume over time or will they drop the whole/most of it at some point? Right now I'm leaning towards the former. Their roadmap and Casey's blogpost implies that is what Bioware is going to do.

Damn, you must be a genius to be able to conclude that when Squeenix hasn't even disclosed the terms on which it took that financing.

It's pretty easy. Just head right to the bottom and look at the downvoted comments The second last comment which is on -5 is positive, and the third last comment on -4 was pretty touching in their thank you's. However the gaming community as a whole don't want to hear those right now. Which is the problem I have with Reddit, it's a tyranny of the majority, and the majority can always downvote opinions out of sight, so you basically echo what everyone else thinks or ... nobody will see your comment lol

You do realize that "profitable" and "successful" are totally different concepts, especially over a ten-year period, correct?

Yes, you're right. The people who are concerned about DA4 being another live services game made on Frostbite are clearly just not listening to Bioware's underlining or whatever. Yet I very much suspect that DA4 will absolutely be a live service on Frostbite, and that will be to the benefit of the game. The key will be how they accomplish it.

Don't see where I claimed in my comment that pessimism is unique to BSN...but pessimism is definitely a part of BSN. That is a nice confirmation though of why devs would be less likely to want to engage the gaming community in general... Besides there are some subreddit excited for future changes. True. But in the minority, I think. These future changes, while worthy they may be, may also come too late and so Anthem will limp along....
From the start of the Anthem threads, I said that the game must have a hook, content and something that brings players coming back to play this game. Bio blew the pre-launch with their stupid idea of using an old branch of the game..... why? .. no idea but it caused problems with the VIP Demo. Launch Content = insufficient. Weapon diversity? LOL. Freeplay ... another laugh. ... bugs, load screens ...... need I go on?
Bio screwed ME:A and now Anthem... really I don't understand how this could happen.
Do I hope Bio can overcome? yes. Yes, because they gave me DA:O, DA2, ME series and ME3MP.... I just love ME3MP.
So, again I ask. What happened?

You do realize that "profitable" and "successful" are totally different concepts, especially over a ten-year term, correct? I see we swerve from cherry-picking to hair-splitting, ey? I mean... FFXV was both succesful and profitable, no matter how you look at it - and especially if you take into account that FFXV had a fate of whole franchise hoisted on its back. And I say that as someone who's not a big FF/Squeenix follower - just someone who took notice what's been happening around the game.

I don’t get all the pessimism. There may be some issues in the endgame and maybe they should have seen them coming but they are fixing them. Things like the connection problems and loading problems and Quickplay problems could easily be issues never encountered outside of a sizeable live user environment. In any case I see no reason to doubt that they want to fix the issues and plan to fix them and will fix them. Why would they not? How would it serve them not to fix them? In the meantime I’m enjoying the game, experiencing the story again with different choices and looking forward to more and continuous story updates. I’m still finding useful loot and growing more powerful. If I want a challenge I can play higher difficulties and if I want to dominate I can play lower difficulties. That’s going to be the same no matter what loot I get from this point on and the rarity of finding legendaries just makes it all the more sweet when I do. Really? People have spent upwards to 80 bucks for this game. The game suffered horrendous bugs day one of release. After each subsequent patch the game seems to introduce more bugs. People who play the game up to six hours daily can barely get their hands on one legendary item. loot drops are broken, some gear items are broken, and there is always more bad news. I can definitely see why people are pessimistic. It's great that you are enjoying the game but other people who have bought the game as well aren't, and their complaints, concerns, and "pessimism" is perfectly valid.
I think complaints are valid but I don't think that the pessimism (a better word is probably cynicism) going around that Bioware don't care and won't ever fix things is valid. It makes no sense to me that there would be any logical reason for them not to want to fix these things.
They will have invested far too much into this project not to want to fix it and lying about fixing it if they don't intend to fix it makes no sense for them from any angle I can conceive of.

Good luck with your venture that turns a $1 profit over a twenty year period. I'm sure you'll be successful in your own mind.
