I would like to propose to the devs that one additional key is available from daily challenges, one daily key is not enough. Being a positive minded person, I would prefer to make a logical argument than to start complaining about the current situation. If anyone has any comment to make on the analysis, I would welcome it, particularly from like-minded completionists. I'll share the idea on the 'official' EA forum once I've checked its logic and/or sanity here. Evidence: I ran 50 Strongholds, 2 to share my key from daily challenges and 48 in the hope of sharing from another player's cache. In those Strongholds, I 'won' 24 items from other players, plus the 2 from my own keys. All matches were with randoms and on Normal difficulty as 'Normal' is a quick way of seeing what your key delivers if you have one. Of the 50 strongholds: - 5 Strongholds (10%) had 2 caches opened (2 of those had my own contribution)
- 16 Strongholds (32%) had 1 cache opened.
- 29 Strongholds (58%) had no keys and no caches were opened.
With 162 drops to collect (73 are arguably more interesting with Decals, Fabrics and Emotes), it's not possible to complete the collection within a 40 day period using only the 40 daily keys that a player may win, so we all have to rely upon others to randomly open caches. Assuming you use your daily key on 40 days (and half of those strongholds, another player has a key, that's 60 items). To get the remaining 102 items, you'll need to run 204 more strongholds (assuming a 50% chance), a total of around 240 Strongholds on average. Though already I'm seeing cache fatigue setting in, I collected 10 items the first day, 9 the second and 7 today. This could take 300 or more Strongholds to complete. As around half of the time, no-one has a key, the excitement of a cache opening is considerably dented by cache after cache being left locked and runs the risk of sapping the joy out of this challenge, particularly for completionists, who enjoy collecting 'all the things'. One additional daily key would widen the pool so that getting something (even some Alloy compounds) would be more likely than not, rather than the reverse. Thanks for reading.

I kinda suspect they don't want players to get all the items within the time period. But then again, considering all I'm getting from these chests is worthless crafting materials after 15 chests in various difficulties.

Yeah the only one key is making it hard to grab something from those caches. Most times no one has any key with me too.

I think they underestimated how voracious folks are with the loot inside. If they up that to two or three a day, within a month or so folks will have exhausted everything from those chests and bioware needs to in turn up the items in it by adding new decals and stuff. Honestly it seems like a lose/lose to me.

The killer for me is the 'score'. 26 / 162 I'd be quite happy once I had it all, I wouldn't need 'more', for this challenge at least.

I'd love some extra keys too, there is no way known I would likely even get half. I just honestly do not have enough hours in my days to get there.

Of the five times I have opened chests or been there when they were opened, three times I got crafting mats. Not having another key stopped me form running strongholds last night, because after "glomming on" one where two other players used theirs I felt guilty, like when I feel like I'm being carried because I suck or I'm learning a role/javelin. I know that's irrational, but I only did two strongholds last night because of it.

I would suggest they fix the chests first. Had a SH where they didn't appear. Then a SH where they couldn't be opened (had a key, but no open prompt). Then the loot didn't show in the Forge until I restarted the game.
Bioware, test your advertised bloody new features before releasing them in a broken state. This is so much like SWTOR that it's not funny anymore and people here are probably tired of me making the comparison.

Everything else is crafting mats, Javelins parts, etc Step 1: Make 67 vanity items Step 2: Make sure half of them are vinyls nobody cares about. Step 3: Label them half-assed. Step 4: Dilute the loot pool with useless trash. Who in their right mind even thinks for one second this is a good idea? FIRE THIS GUY! Step 5: Do step 4 again, just to make sure it's watery enough. Step 6: Introduce maximum timer for loot pool that no one can achieve who doesn't play games 8 hours a day. Step 7: Let everything be coded by a zero-armed, one-point-five legged monkey (he's sensitive about it, don't ask) consultant who was quickly hired on to this project with no prior knowledge of the code pitfalls. Damnit bioware, I love you 'till the end of times, but why must we go through this every time?

why are there resources in the caches anyway? why is there crafting anyway? we only need consumables? Answer: excess loot needed to be recycled..Come on BioWare you can do bettter!

I found the crafting stuff quite useful as I'm working on my second pilot right now and I'm crafting new epics and masterworks all the time as I gain levels!
I think the system is fine with having common stuff amidst the good stuff. That makes finding the good stuff more special.
The trouble is, everyone seems to have this "give me the best of everything and give it to me now" mentality about loot and I don't see how that can be remotely sustainable. You'd end up with all the good stuff so quickly that everything afterwards would be disappointing.
Bioware have to sustain the anticipation of finding good stuff for months on end until new content releases bigger and better. Cater to what everyone seems to be asking for and there'll be nothing new worth getting inside of a few weeks!
This is particularly important for the cosmetics because that's how they plan on funding the game. If everything is good and it's easy to get it all nobody will need to buy any more with real money.

No, nobody wants "all the good stuff right now!" We want something good PERIOD. You have any idea how many damn hours I've put in, and have yet to get a SINGLE Legendary to drop? Jesus christ WoW was more forgiving than this! I'm sorry, but crafting, and crafting materials, are junk. Crafting in this game is a ridiculous feature, and all the rewards in these chests that ARENT stupid crafting materials, are crappy, half assed little helmet stickers. if you honestly think these are rewards worth persuing, I seriously have to question the gaming public at large. Online games are suppose to have a Carrot and Stick approach, only this game has no carrot, it has only a damn stick, and if your lucky you might find a rotten, half eaten carrot down the road behind a dumpster.

I personally actually don't mind THAT bad about the whole loot situation, the game is fun. But I mind them repeating mistakes previously made by others and/or themselves.

If half of the items are vanity and half are components, and they are finite by design, law of averages you will get what you want as the pool shrinks.
Again, in theory this seems fine if you enjoy vanity items. So far I got 5 crafting bundles and one Storm entrence emoji thing that I liked. But as the items begin to be removed from the pool more will come in.
I am more concerned with what they replace them with. Hope they have plans for a ton of vanity choices to keep resupplying along with the return of the bundles.

We want something good PERIOD. You have any idea how many damn hours I've put in, and have yet to get a SINGLE Legendary to drop? Wait, just for clarification, you have ZERO Legendary items? No Weapons or Components? Correct, easily over 100 hours played at least. Have been fully kitted in Masterworks for weeks, have been on GM2 for weeks. Zero.

Have been fully kitted in Masterworks for weeks, have been on GM2 for weeks. Zero. Holy crap! No wonder you are pulling your hair out. I've been doing a mix of Legendary Missions and Contracts, Strongholds, and Quickplay all at GM1 and I have somewhere around 12-13 Legendaries between Weapons, Gear and Components. I mean, I have my Luck at around 90 on my 732 MW Interceptor but I don't think I do anything special and it is pretty random as to when it drops - ex, I'll kill a Legendary Ursix and get blues and purples but will get a Legendary item from a world event in Freeplay. Obviously, they have to sort the loot system out as I'm mostly now breaking down even Masterwork items into embers and all Epics for sure.
