How did that work out for them? Just as much riding on Tuesday, I suspect. News on Tuesday:
Icecream truck crashed into Bioware main building. Thankfully, no one was injured. Except for the Internet cable.

Hm... Lack of planning with no alternate as a backup. Given Anthem, that seems about right.
EDIT: At this point, Bio needs to be believable in what they say. Failure to have a contingency plan to ensure the event proceeds as advertised is further proof mgt does not understand that their Anthem community's belief in what Bio communicates is fragile.

Who actually believes their excuse? I cut line does not take a week to resolve. They are clearly buying time because they don't have shit or what they actually have is so bad/buggy that it would have been an embarrassment to show (kind of par for course with this terrible game). My guess is the gameplay didn't work as expected with glitches, more bugs, etc. Plus I'd also imagine the loot drops were less than optimal for a live-stream, so we get a delay.

How did that work out for them? I swear, if I didn't have such fond memories of old Bioware and old Bethesda it would be an absolute laugh riot watching these two fumbling and bumbling about as they compete for the "laughing stock of the industry" title. Instead it just makes me sad and wistful for days gone by. Eh, a developer livestream getting delayed by just under a week is no big deal.
There'd be far more reason to complain if they were cancelling it outright, but that's not what seems to be happening.
That'll be the next announcement.

I personally don't think the majority of people are impatient, more anxious about what will happen. I love playing Anthem but there are bits that frustrate me incredibly, playing GM2 and killing Legendary mobs or completing events in GM2 Freeplay and getting a Rare and embers as a reward, considering that its the 2nd highest tier of difficulty it seems ludicrous to me. I am not one that focusses solely on loot but there is a limit and I can only imagine the frustration on the players that aren't so casual about it. Why would any Legendary mob or chest give a Rare anything as a reward in the 2nd highest difficulty, I would understand them dropping from trash mobs and there are plenty of those, on the flipside I tend to get more Legendary's off trash mobs than I do mini bosses or loot chests when I get them at all of course. While I had hope that EA/Bioware could change things for the better, the reduction in players is so obvious that I wonder if they have burnt too many at this point for there to be a comeback from this. My own experience with the customer service and tech support smacks of too much demarcation, one hand doesn't seem to know what the other is doing, not a good sign IMO. I certainly hope they can pull off a comeback but its honestly starting to feel like it will need a miracle on the scale of Lazarus and there were and still are doubters regarding that miracle, there will be plenty doubtful that EA/Bioware can turn things around sufficiently even if they do make changes now. I hope they can but I doubt they can win back the majority of those they have lost already.

I hope they can but I doubt they can win back the majority of those they have lost already. I've stated this before that time and relevancy is going to be Anthems biggest issue. The game could end up in a good state a year after launch, but you still need to have a playerbase for those changes to mean something. EA/BioWare seem to want to salvage what they can (if them posting hirings is any indication). Technically, I do mean this only on a fundamental level, the game has improved since launch; albeit with additional pain points every patch. It also wouldn't be the only game that's had a large reduction in its playerbase soon after launch. IIRC, The Division lost almost 90% of its player population two months after launch. It took some time for it to reclaim players, but it eventually ended up in a better spot. I remain skeptical of Anthems future because I do recognize that it's got alot of fundamental design flaws, but like you, I do hope the game pulls through. Hell, Battlefront II has somehow managed to whether the storm and become a game people are starting to enjoy. I even see it pop up on reddit top threads from time to time, which blows my mind honestly.

Hell, Battlefront II has somehow managed to whether the storm and become a game people are starting to enjoy. I even see it pop up on reddit top threads from time to time, which blows my mind honestly. Yes, and a flow on effect from the reduction in player numbers is the reduction in revenue, if they are able to make changes and make Anthem a decent game but are unable to regain the player numbers lost already, how will that bode for future content? I would imagine they would need a certain number of players to have the percentage of them needed to make cash purchases of cosmetics in order to fund future content. Without a decent percentage making those purchases will the future content be sub par, have more time between drops or be non-existent? ATM, it feels like it needs a lot of cash thrown at it but if they do and don't get the returns or a hefty playerbase increase I would assume that pressure will be applied to generate revenue from means that many players would not appreciate or would find unsavoury. I have seen it before and haven't enjoyed the slippery slope of the downward spiral of doom, the next few months will be interesting to say the least.

I'm also expecting to see the roadmap to be adjusted so that some of the items planned to arrive in April, actually arrive in May.
That might be an easier message to sell when folk can at least enjoy the new Stronghold, but it won't make everyone happy.

If Sunken is all they put out this month, and everything else on the April roadmap is moved, they deserve every bit of negativity, player backlash, and bad press they get. They sold a game with minimal content under the promise that content was coming, and to look at the roadmap for proof.
It would be one thing if they put out 10 of the 14 things on the roadmap and said they couldn't get to the rest. However, if they only put out 1 of the 14 things on the roadmap and move everything else to a later date, all the while still promising that more content is coming, they deserve whatever they get.
