I'll add to this: don't just let your biases make you assume the worst about EA or Corporate America. Yes these companies have... mixed results when it comes to certain things... but that doesn't automatically mean the worse case scenario about things like live service is correct either. Especially if you have someone who is actually playing these games tells you the doomsaying is inaccurate.

I am not about to go through every single point presented in a 1 hour video. I'd suggest watching it, grab some snacks, a piece of cake, a cup of tea or whatever and enjoy. Of course, not much to do with people who would just bend over for large corporations and be their toys. I mean, some people are into that, under other circumstances and with other partners I would be too ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) But they are fraud. How would you describe "people who just bend over for large corporations" Because while I have VERY strong beliefs on corporations and believe that companies should only allowed to be a certain size before being broken up and white collar crimes that involve over ten million dollars should result in ten or more years of jail time even if you are only guilty of horrible incompetence.
But back on point. If you go on facebook you are guilty of it as well. If you shop on amazon you are as well. The idea that someone buying a game is them bending over is laughable compare to just those two things. So maybe you shouldn't accuse someone of "bending over for corporations" because they bought a video game.

You are correct. You are basically bending over for a company as you support them, help them thrive while they spit on you like the dirty little toy you are to them. Let them grab you and milk you like a good cattle. Could atleast try to fight back... just a little bit, it does not hurt that much missing out on a few games, it is also better for a hobby that we all love and cherish, Pepperidge Farm remembers the days when Bethesda got smacked for their horse armor. Now gaming is mainstream, the EA Sports Fifa gamers have spread to the entire industry, and it have all only gone downhill since then. We have people defending Fallout 76 Well, none of this is the first time, happened in the 1990s as well, of course, or was it a few years earlier? I can't remember, I am not THAT old. As for facebook and amazon. I don't use those. I am an avid user of youtube though, which tends to screw over its creators

Or people who just don't have the patience to argue the same thing for the 100th time, to people that simply don't care to hear a dissenting opinion. Yeah people on both sides need to listen to each other. Once the other side starts writing something that is sensible and worth heeding, rather than just foolishly dismiss any... perhaps not cleverly written, but fairly great points considering recent events in the gaming world. Let us hope Dragon Age 4 turns out to be good. I do have my doubts though. While I could in fact enjoy Inquisition, it wasn't exactly... great. But it could be improved upon, had some great ideas... but if Anthem have taught me anything, then it is that Bioware have absolutely no control, no talent, and no idea of what they are doing. Makes me sad... I still want to kill Solas. egghead can't just threaten to kill several innocent people just because he is a racist.

Both sides as far as I’m concerned needs to be reasonable and respectful of each. We all do to be honest.

Not sure how much of Joplin they could show, if there's anything to show... although I'm just a teensy bit curious. During past GDCs, I remember some other devs revealing target gameplay footage (aka vertical slices) and it was kinda interesting seeing their early pitches, the goals they were aiming for, and how far they've come along by the time they launch. The final product can be quite different from what they show at the conference but the devs must feel that there are valuable lessons to be learned from sharing prototypes with their colleagues. Some of those keynotes/talks are then posted online for the rest of the community to enjoy.
It's up to them though.
