There's likely not much to communicate right now, so I don't envy the community manager's job.

It's actually hilarious how the Anthem reddit went from being giddy and positive to negative and critical so more positive members split and formed a new subreddit. Anthem reddit is repeating the BSN history. I thought when Bioware pivoted from official forums whcih were closed to social media and reddit they wanted positive fans there. Now who will get blamed for "toxic fandom"? Reddit's flip was certainly striking.

I saw this on Reddit. I'm sympathetic to the dev's situation, but I found this funny. At least it's not a question about loot.

Sean Murray went completely silent for a loooong time after NMS's release and everyone thought Hello games just took the money and ran off to a lonely island where the mob couldn't find them. Then out of the blue they released an update. And now whenever they go radio silent, people know they're actually working on a new major update and get super excited. Sean Murray learned his lesson about overhyping, so now he's very careful with info. Hello Games communicates through updates, not directly with fans. Devs do NOT need to talk to the players to regain and maintain goodwill. Actions speak louder than words.
However, that situation was different. Bioware and Anthem is a sinking ship, the devs all know this and while they're desperately trying not to drown, players get more and more upset that the ship keeps sinking. So it must feel awful trying to save a sinking ship being verbally abused doing so. A ship that was built by somebody else, no less. Not surprising people at Bioware have grown resentful of the entire situation. They're in a lose/lose situation here. It's a GaaS game that relies on a steady stream of MTX income, so they HAVE to communicate to keep people playing. But what do you communicate when your loot loop is so broken that you're not sure it can be repaired?
